I think the purpose of the led is not only to illuminate your target in the dark but also to get the attacker to momentarily focus on the light, opening their eyes and allowing you to dose them pretty good.
@@igotothemimestripclub6248 As someone who has the upgraded version of this gun, trust me this theory is completely false. Thank you! I'm reading on a local forum (CalGuns) where a guy pumping gas was rushed by a mugger wielding a knife. He produced some Saber Blue Dye OC sparay and dossed the mugger. I'm going to take a look at that spray as well. The idea of a super strong non-washable dye is a serious bonus when the police are looking for the assailant.
Aside from the video GWebs put out on the pepper blaster where he shot pretty true to target none of the others could hit a target on the first shot. And while I'm sure the pepper blaster has a more "forceful" blast, being limited to two shots does not seem like a good idea. With controlled quick bursts we got well over seven shots per canister.
I have this one. I think it is the best in class for the price. I carry it and some mini self protection"purse" pepper sprays and Bear spray. I also live in bear country and have the big $35 bear spray. The differences and comparisons. First, Bear spray is not as potent. It puts out a lot , but, not as strong on the pepper heat. It is a deterrent meant to allow the bear to get away. Second , bear spray can is very bulky and heavy. Each has it's place. The tiny "Purse" stuff is potent and best if you are face to face, or being assaulted. The bear spray has around 20' shot and is very fine mist that the wind will effect greatly. So you can drift it to the bear. This Mace gun is the "get it done" for everything. While hiking or biking with my dog I am able to stop attacks on myself or my dog from a greater distance with accuracy. The LED light is a bit weak, yet, it works great in very dark times to help with the aim. I do not carry a firearm anymore. The legal ramifications of even pulling a firearm, as defined by law, make it a liability to even carry a firearm. With a firearm you are all in, or not. With pepper sprays I can protect myself without such actions as that result in death and injury to the attacker. Legally much better than anything.
CCW are issued by the county in Ca. Some counties are much less onerous. However I live in LA county which don't give out CCW licenses to almost anyone.
My concern would be that the gun like appearance would be an immediate tell and a potential escalated threat signal to someone who is packing the real thing. Might be ok for a critter attack or a REAL last resort (VERY last).
Exactly my thought, you are pulling a gun on someone, and you are carrying around a gun-shaped object. You pull a typical OC can, or better yet one of the concealed models and you don't immediately turn things into a fire fight, they may know you're going for OC or they might not, but they're not going to immediately assume shootout at the OK Corral. Then there's the obvious problems of carry. A co-worker notices it on you, or sees it in a purse or pocket and next thing you know you're fired for carrying a firearm at work. A cop sees this in your center console in your car, or, yes, on your bike, and you are ending up in the back of a squad car attempting to explain that no, you're not carrying a firearm. If it doesn't get you shot.

I think your better off with the regular pepper spray because it needs to be used as a surprise attack. The regular spray can be more easily concealed. Also, when a gun is pointed the natural reaction is to turn around, or shoot If they have a real gun. In that case you just turned a bad situation into possibly your last situation...

This seems like a really bad idea to me. You do not want people confusing a "less than lethal" weapon with a gun, whether it be an armed bystander trying to help, a cop just pulling up to a situation who doesn't know who the players are yet, or a bad guy who perhaps has a gun but hasn't put it in to play. There is a reason Tazers are bright yellow. This is a good way to get yourself shot when you pull out your pepper spray.. and other than the "cool factor" it really offers no real advantages to a regular can of pepper spray.
Thanks for making this video! It looks kinda big to carry around in the front pocket of my jeans, but maybe a pair of cargo pants at Walmart would work 'cause those have big, loose front pockets. Again, thanks!

I have tried Cold Steel back in 09 (working security), the guy was on fire for 2 hrs even after being doused with over 2 gallons of cold water. I have had both Cold Steel, Fox get on me, it truly sucks. Vexor, is super fierce and a guy that used to be a chemical guy at the prison thought he would be cute and huff some Vexor, it kicked his arse
Keep in mind the Tueller drill when preparing yourselves for a self defense scenario. Anyone less than 21 feet/7yds can get a drop on you in seconds. It's further than you would think. Has anyone tried practicing deploying the real thing to know what to expect when you get the pepper on you too? Not saying shoot your self in the face, but have an idea what over spray feels like?
I agree with the thoughts a about this looking like a fire arm and escalation of fight to a potential lethal one. but that range is pretty awesome... as a gun guy though.. I personally would not shoot some one who maced me but I would be as fast as possible to be the first to shoot if I thought it was a real gun that may take me face off....
I was going to say, as practical as the design is, I am leery of people freaking out and thinking you have a gun if they just saw the handle. I would not worry about it too much where I am because PA has open carry, so even if people think you have a gun, it's not a big deal.
That sucks your in CA and have to use mace to protect you and yours. How difficult is itbto fet a ccw in ca? I'd imagine its vety time consuming like NY. They put so many stipulations on it so people wont want to bother. Good video!
+The Watcher Stronger in regards to the power of the stream? Or the strength of the pepper? I can''t comment on the later, the but the former is about the same.
I have no idea what UT laws are regarding this device. It would not be wise for me to give out any legal advice. You might want to search Google and maybe event contact a defense attorney. Best of luck!
If you reach in your pocket for anything at the wrong time while dealing with police it can get you killed. If it looks like a can of pepper spray or a small flare gun isn't relevant.
pepper sprays main value is as a compliance torture device, or as the lasd calls it, a "pain persuasion" device. thesubjectis typically already rendered nonthreatening, and the officer needs to get the suspect off the ground, or needs some measure of compliance on the part of the subject. a threat is usually uttered beforehand, such as "you"re fixin to get a face of liquid fire, buddy" as the officer shakes his canister. a determined assailant will only be enraged by pepper spray. be aware.
+Matthew Kimball Maybe for law enforcement... For a 99 pound female for example on a jog, I assume they're going to use it different. Spray the attacker and run away. Lets not over-complicate things.
Do you mean how incapacitating it is to get sprayed in the face? If so, I have been sprayed a few times. I know the effects well and can push though them if I need too, but I really can not see once I get this stuff in my eyes. It makes my eyes swell up. It also makes breathing a bit of a problem. So hard to see anything and can not suck in enough air, I say that is worth something in a fight for sure.
Your best off just carrying your S&W all the time no need for the spray it might be good for someone that can't carry maybe like under age that can't carry a gun yet or for dogs when you are out biking or out for a walk but I always carry my gun everywhere.
You could get killed for holding a gun without the benefit of a gun. I have my bicycle lock key on a mace key chain so that the mace is in my hand frequently and does not look like a firearm. My bicycle light is a Fenix PD35 which comes off for hand use as a 850 lumen strobe in my left hand. My mace does not bother cashiers when I pull it out of my change pocket at the counter either. Do not get yourself killed turn your back to a gun.

I personally would not shoot some one who maced me but I would be as fast as possible to be the first to shoot if I thought it was a real gun that may take me face off....
thumbs up on the video kind sir!!!
I was going to say, as practical as the design is, I am leery of people freaking out and thinking you have a gun if they just saw the handle. I would not worry about it too much where I am because PA has open carry, so even if people think you have a gun, it's not a big deal.
How many full sprays does each can contain, before having to reload?
+The Watcher depends on how long you hold down the trigger. I estimated 8-10 good shots.
That sucks your in CA and have to use mace to protect you and yours. How difficult is itbto fet a ccw in ca? I'd imagine its vety time consuming like NY. They put so many stipulations on it so people wont want to bother. Good video!
" pull it hard"
" i am pulling it hard"
"let it all shoot"
+gooni goo goo what can I say. I've got a heavy trigger pull.
ha ha ha :)))))) did you hear yourself saying that :)) too funny..just kidding about first comment
+gooni goo goo no problem bro. I don't take things to seriously. 🍻
I have one I like it it easy to carry has nice range it goes everywhere I go on my belt on right side nice and concealed under my shirt🤘
is this stronger than normal pepper spray gels?
+The Watcher Stronger in regards to the power of the stream? Or the strength of the pepper? I can''t comment on the later, the but the former is about the same.
hoshnasi thanks
very good info. Thank you
is the boas extreme
I'm underage and in today's society, I feel that this is a good investment for me. Is it legal for me to carry this in my state? (Utah)
I have no idea what UT laws are regarding this device. It would not be wise for me to give out any legal advice. You might want to search Google and maybe event contact a defense attorney.
Best of luck!

gooni goo goo
it comes in pink lol, if that helps
Seems like you would need to be fairly close if it's windy, overall a good product. I'll surely get this if I can make room on my belt, lol.
I think the LED should be replaced with LEAD. Other then that, great review! 👍🏽
Hah. yes!
Reminds me of the cop that mistook her gun for her taser and capped a fool by mistake. A different form factor is probably a good idea.
is it the same as bear spay?
Hey thank you! :)
just want to know how strong the effect on the mace
+michael le I never tested the strength.
+hoshnasi ok thank you
الوووو
Do you mean how incapacitating it is to get sprayed in the face? If so, I have been sprayed a few times. I know the effects well and can push though them if I need too, but I really can not see once I get this stuff in my eyes. It makes my eyes swell up. It also makes breathing a bit of a problem. So hard to see anything and can not suck in enough air, I say that is worth something in a fight for sure.
+Jesse Sisolack thank you
Your best off just carrying your S&W all the time no need for the spray it might be good for someone that can't carry maybe like under age that can't carry a gun yet or for dogs when you are out biking or out for a walk but I always carry my gun everywhere.
Can u own this in California
Damn how did I miss this vid?! Great review bro, people are so stupid. It got you a lot of likes for a reason.
Thank you sir!
Do you if this is legal in NY?
+Hey It's That Guy From Over There no idea, but probably not.
pretty good video, nice and thorough
do you have to be 18 or have a cc licence to carry
IDK, depends on your country or state.
Thanks I'll sub for you
You could get killed for holding a gun without the benefit of a gun.
And B B guns and pellet guns also.
Id change that led out for a laser light
Brent S how do u do that?
This gun is great! I just had to use it two days ago. A guy came to my camp to assault me. Worked great! Got it all on camera. Buying a couple more. Video is on my channel if interested in seeing the gun in action.
nothing beats a real one. Glad I live in a open carry state
Love this
Does anyone have a recommendation on a iwb holster for this
does it come with a holster?
Loner Wolf yes
One piece of advice, don't use the mace gun in strong wind.
It may back fire on your face.
+Wisely Go I only use it in front of a insanely powerful fan blowing directly back at me.
They gave my wife the pink model and I they sell a bright silver one too. Might help get rid of that "gun" look.
I bought this from 🌶 gun from Amazon, great purchase and all I get is compliments from my fellow officers 💪🏻
