    You are so fortunate to be able to keep going with your digging all winter. Here l sit looking out at 2 ft of snow, have not seen bare earth for several months.

    • @dirtysecretsofscotland
      @dirtysecretsofscotland  2 года назад

      Hi Cynthia - yeah, that sounds tough. We don't get snow like that very often here. Actually, Sarah and I were just lamenting the poor show of snow this and last year. It's funny that people tend to want what they haven't got at the time! Hopefully the snow will melt soon and you can get out digging up your own absolute belters! Willie :)

    OMG Sarah you are amazing. That came out fabulous. Your right that ink was as true today as it was over a hundred years ago. Thanks for sharing that with us. Perhaps making another with same ink but pulling in that lovely teal color of the bottle. Then return it to sender...lol

      Thank you so much!! It as an absolute privilege to be able to use that ink after so many years. I'm so grateful to Tom for sending it to us :) I hope he likes the painting as much as you. I agree - the colour of the aqua glass is amazing. I would love to try and capture that too! Sarah x

    Exceptional video today, such good quality content…productive tip dig, fun gift unboxing, and very unique ink artwork. Impressive finds Willie, my favorite is the cream pot. The “ash tray” spittoon is a brilliant piece, a respectable antique. Sweet to see you guys together, photobomb Jack so very curious! Amazed at the original ink used to immortalize its own bottle, very clever and well done. Good work Willie, Sarah, and Jack.

      Thanks Greg - this video was a huge amount of work, I'll be honest. However, when we receive comment like yours, it makes all the hours worthwhile.
      And thrilled you like Sarah's artwork. It blew me away, not only in the quality of her work, but also using a medium that she's never even contemplated using before and making it that good! All the best - Willie, Sarah and Jack :)

    The blue poison was my favorite belter. You do a wonderful job of cleaning the bottles to show us. The pyramid ink comes in second.

    • @dirtysecretsofscotland
      @dirtysecretsofscotland  2 года назад +1

      Hi Andrea - thanks for commenting! The blue poison is stunning. Such a crazy invention too. And thanks - the cleaning part is probably my least favourite part of the whole process, but its important that I do it properly, so I do take my time.
      The pyramid ink is a special find too. Willie :)

    I really love old enamel signs and I love tea! I'd be buzzing to find that. Could be mounted on a board and the missing sections painted onto the backboard. I'll add more as I watch through the video 😂 I also like the St Andrews bottle! Those mudpies gifts are definite belters and so is that ink drawing by Sarah at the end!

    • @dirtysecretsofscotland
      @dirtysecretsofscotland  2 года назад +2

      Thanks Richard. That's a really clever idea with the sign! I may see if Sarah would be up for doing that! Definitely very chuffed with the kind gifts from the Mudpies! And I agree - Sarah's ink painting is the perfect use for the ink. She did a tremendous job! Willie :)

    Hey Will, I don’t remember anyone having done a video on the different types of glass and bottles (such as drippy-lippies, screw-tops, pressed glass, etc.). Care to do something like that for us? You could include other items you’d like to explain or that you find interesting. Stay well and enjoy your awesome finds! My favorites are the little printed cream pots and the coffee drink bottles. Best video yet! That blue bottle is the belter of all belters! Loved watching Jack tearing up the paper, he must be so much fun at Christmas lol. Sarah's painting with the old ink is stunning, BDT is a lucky man to get that! Also, loving the new dance moves! 😃💗 x

    I am fascinated by the pyramid ink bottle but my heart goes to cobalt blue.
    Great finds today.
    The snow drops are beautiful. Then I wonder how many bulbs you dug up making your hole. 🤔. I think I'd be taking some of those treasures home, or at least replanting in the hole. I'll have snow cover for at least a couple more months so seeing spring flowers already just seems amazing.
    Sarah's art is fabulous! Thanks for sharing.

    Hello Willie, I bet you were tired with all that dancing and you still had to dig and refill. That's a beauty of a spittoon. The Vapo Cresolene is stunning, they also come in a few colors. I've seen cobalt, corn field blue, light green, aqua, clear and amethyst which was clear before, but the maganese in the glass it turned amethyst. They also come in a smaller size. I have 4 colors. Congrats for digging all those belters. Take care and be safe. ✌

    Either the sender’s or receiver’s address was shown when Sarah was opening the little box at the desk. Might want to “fuzz” that out.
    I have a soft spot for blue glass, so that poison bottle had to be a fave today. Glad you had such an awesome dig-day, Willie! You’re going to have start charging for dancing lessons, because we’re all learning some cool moves on your channel!😉👍 I’m glad that Sarah’s channel is doing well…👏🤩

    Here I am, nose pressed against the glass, looking in at the wonderful mudlarking/bottle digging community from the outside. Poor me. :'( Just kidding!! LOL Exceptional dig this time, plus the goodies sent by The Mudpies. Jack almost stole the show with his cameo appearances, eh? LOL Good times. And, of course, Sarah's ink drawing was sublime. Tom will be happy with it, I'm sure. I'm not going to pick a favourite, just because I don't have to. I love it all.

    • @dirtysecretsofscotland
      @dirtysecretsofscotland  2 года назад

      It's cool, right?! I think it divides opinions, a spittoon - can't imagine why...
      And yeah - when you told me about the Derby ink, I'd already dug it. We're a few videos filmed in advance (just in case we get stuck in the house, for reasons I won't go into..!).
      I didn't realise it was a good ink at the time, until you told me it was. That's why it made it into the thumbnail photo..! :)
