    I have finally purchased one of these beautiful instruments from Bolivia. Your videos have both taught me how to play and given me inspiration.
    If the camera panned up and it was Gustavo playing, I would not be surprised. You add your own flair to the songs as well.
    If I end up being half as good as you are I will be happy.

    Its very very difficult to cover Gustavo's pieces as they are majorly emotionally driven rather than just notes. And you've understood what he was trying to say through his music i can see. Brilliantly done ❤️

      More like a combo of his original recording on Ronroco (with compressed timing) and most of his solo versions. I'm about to redo it with a bit more fidelity to the original, so don't hold on too tight!

    I have a Ronroco from Bolivia as well but when i try to learn I am only watching and replaying back multiple times... Is there any place that you would have gotten any Tabs for Gustavo's songs. Or is there a place to learn them that I have not heard of? Please if you can let me know, It would help me learning a better way to play if possible. Thanks! Great Video!

    Tony ¿cómo estás?, dos preguntas.. no has considerado dar clases online? Y la otra yo tengo un ronroco achá pero tiene un tiemble diferente al argentino... esto es por las cuerdas o por la construcción? Abrazo!

    • @tonyzender5752
      @tonyzender5752  3 года назад

      Hola Carlos. Primero, en cuanto a la instrucción en línea, me halaga, pero considero que mis subidas una forma de instrucción sobre cómo se puede tocar una versión del trabajo de Gustavo. No reclamo exactitud, y además, juego algunas partes intencionalmente diferentes para rellenar instrumentos de acompañamiento. Además, ni siquiera sé leer música, así que no me siento calificada. En cuanto a la segunda pregunta, creo que (mi traductor no es perfecto) estás preguntando por diferentes sintonías, como Boliviano contra Argentino, siendo un factor de construcción o cuerdas. Creo que son ambas cosas. Te lo diré en breve porque ordené cuerdas bolivianas y quiero aprender un par de canciones con esa afinación. Gracias por las preguntas interesantes, ¡salud!

    Lovely work. Can I ask what strings you are using? I've just picked up a Ronroco (same model as the one you have here) and used some Medina Artigas 1265 strings which are DGBEB, however although courses 1, 2, 4 and 5 both contain strings at the same octave, the third course has strings an octave apart (bottom string is lower than bottom D string and top is an octave above). This doesn't sound as I'd expect, and looking at your strings in this video they appear to be different to that.
    I've found some information online pointing to a different configuration with the top two courses an octave apart, but these don't seem to be available in Argentinian tuning.

    • @tonyzender5752
      @tonyzender5752  2 года назад

      The strings you have are correct for Argentinian tuning. The middle B strings are indeed an octave apart, so three hi B's in total with the same tuning, one low B. The tuning is relatively the same as the charango. The other ronroco tunings, referred to as Bolivian and or Chilean are lower and the string octaves are different, though the general tuning is the same. For instance, the tune I play called Potrero required different strings. It's Bolivian tuning, and if you listen to Gustavo's version, it's the even lower tuning which I couldn't replicate on my smaller ronroco. It's a lot, sorry, but just getting it all out there to avoid the confusion I had.

      @@tonyzender5752 Thank you. That's really helpful. I didn't even know Ronrocos came in different sizes. Surprisingly hard to get a really good overview of the instrument anywhere. The video you reference is beautiful. One more question: have you tried using a piezo pickup? If so, any advice? Thanks again.

    Very nice covers. I've been able to learn from you also! And i especially love your room with so many instruments.
    I have a ronroco also but it is of poor quality and I am interested in investing in a new one.
    Which model are you using?
    Are the higher notes accurate? (i find that my ronroco gets detuned the higher notes that I play).

    • @tonyzender5752
      @tonyzender5752  4 года назад +2

      Hi Hamza. Thanks for the nice comments. I posted these for learning so maybe the next Gustavo is inspired and will create more for us. I'm still learning as well and will likely redo many of these first attempts.
      I've had my Cansión ronroco for exactly a year. It's my first, so I don't know about the quality of other models, but I suspect ronrocos generally don't fret quite as well as guitars. I am pretty happy with this one, though, even higher on the neck. I'm also looking for another one and will be interested in any feedback you get.
