Eleuthera itself is an awesome place to visit. Rock sound, Governor’s Harbour, glass window bridge, preachers cave, french leave beach….Lighthouse point used to be a great place to visit but now you’re not allowed to go unless you’re on the cruise. Quite sad to see what Disneys done.
Just got back from a cruise that went to both Castaway and Lookout. Early August. While I love both, I think I like Lookout better. Castaway seems more contrived. Also I like there are real waves at Lookout. And the bucket drop and slide is on land using fresh water, so better for kids. (Castaway requires swimming out to deep water to experience theirs). I like the beauty of the limestone cliffs. The vegetation is already starting to fill in and much of it was in bloom. And the flies were gone. They must have sprayed.
Good question. We didn't notice any difference in the beaches. We were there on two days. On the second day, the seas were rougher, so that is why some of the footage might look different. But all of the beaches were very nice. Are you thinking of getting a cabana?
Wish the bars & restaurants had different looks to them instead of being a carbon copy of each other. Wish Disney had a pool available for those that don’t want to swim in the ocean. I believe every other cruise line private island has some sort of pool option. The flys & the long walk from the pier seem to be problematic.
Thanks for the great video. My family is DCL Gold and we were very excited about this new private island but Lookout Cay just seems like a woke, unshaded, hot mess. So many issues-Not to mention the tons of flies around the buffet-that I won't be going on a DCL cruise with this as a stop. It reminds me of the Tom Hanks movie "Castaway" - Hot and boring.
It is certainly hot, and there isn't as much shade as we would like, but I'm not sure it is a complete mess. There is a lot of potential, but we still lean toward Castaway Cay as being better. When is your next DCL cruise?

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear things are improving on the island! Happy cruising.
That’s good that the flies weren’t as bad. I’d hate to miss out on all that BBQ!
Thanks for the honest review.
Glad it was helpful. Do you have plans to visit Lookout Cay?
Did you notice a difference between the family cabana beach and the other? The family cabana beach looks like it may get rough at time

We agree that having a lagoon-style pool like Royal Caribbean's private island would be nice. Have you been to Perfect Day?
Disney’s Castaway Cay does not have a pool, either.

Planning a cruise to Lookout Cay?
@@Eatsleepcruise1 not in the near future. I don't like the long walk and 10 minute tram ride - I prefer Castaway Cay.
Lookout “flies”
Unfortunately, yes.
