Thanks for inviting us into the shave den Bill…now awaiting my plate which should be delivered any day now. Purchased and received two new Dan's Arkansas stones which did arrive and I'm pumped to get started on Superhoning on curved stones. I agree with everything you said on this video, shaving is all in the hands of the person who is delivering the shave. I think most men look at shaving as a chore and don’t really enjoy the experience…I know, for a while I fell into this category. Then I decided to embrace the art.. went to a couple of barbers, had them share their knowledge of straight razor shaving, and haven’t looked back. I actually now wish my whiskers grew faster! Lol . I look forward to the shave. ( my wife thinks I'm crazy 😜) but realizes I could have worst hobbies, and she enjoys the results, so it’s a win-win. Keep the great videos coming..Cheers Mike.

Just discovered your channel. There is a German phrase for how a straight improves after a few shaves thanks to use & stropping.
I can't remember clearly what it was.

Well observed Bill , most professional barbers have to use shavettes ( by law ) and I also notice how short their strokes are , it's probably the extra 'care' for the customer ? Other Italian professional barbers shave video's that use proper straight razors tend to use more confident strokes . I will never use a shavette fiendish nasty little things .
Great shave ....it's a brave man shaves with a factory edge !

Artist Club type tools with a guarded blade are nice….then again, no individuals with closets full of Fillys would ever consider the fool things. 😎

@@billm.2677 😂👏👏👏, Once you've used the Ferrari of razors , a shavette becomes vile to even touch 😂.

Nice scrapers! Awesome shave and information. I would love to pick your brain on what stones I will eventually need to hone properly. Have a great week buddy!

Naniwa 12K is a superb stone in my opinion.
What straights to you have and use?
