- The UN's human rights chief has said he is "horrified" by the destruction of Gaza's Nasser and al-Shifa hospitals and the reports of "mass graves" being found at the sites after Israeli raids.
Volker Türk called for independent investigations into the deaths.
Palestinian officials said they had exhumed 283 bodies at Nasser hospital, some with their hands tied. It is not clear how they died or when they were buried.
Israel's military said claims that it buried bodies there were "baseless".But it did say that during a two-week operation at the hospital in the city of Khan Younis in February, troops "examined" bodies buried by Palestinians "in places where intelligence indicated the possible presence of hostages".

They have to dilute the severity of what's happening, even though, when it comes to mass graves, that isn't possible. People now argue about who buried the bodies, when it's known that the IDF killed them and destroyed the hospitals. They still don't give up. Every news report contains some rhetorical way of inducing uncertainty.

They cut water, food and electricity from the hospitals for weeks and they rejected vital medicines going to the hospital. This led to patients dying multiple organ failures, babies died blood poisoing and lack of oxygen as their incubators did not have power due to electricity being cut off.
Some were found with marks of prolonged torture, some with their eyes gouged out. It's beyond horrendous

@@madelinee94 there are interviews out there from the organisation that dug them up and the journos that were around at the time helping, they said some had their eyes gouged out and some had their intestines hanging out of their bodies and other corpses showed different signs of torture. I watched quite a few different interviews from mainstream news channels the most graphic was the interview with the Palestinian journo, I can’t remember his name - that had the most detailed information about what had happened to the bodies they found. I forgot to say, some of the corpses still had medical equipment attached to them like canula’s etc, that’s all in the interview too

The hospital posted video of staff burying bodies back in January, because the morgue was not working. The hospital was a headquarters for Hamas where it may have held oponents and where they may have been tortured and executed. When the IDF captured the hospital it exhumed the bodies as it believed some of the bodies were hostages. It took DNA examples and reburied the bodies.Exhuming bodies may be morally/culturally inappropriate as Muslims may believe this to be descrating graves and is disrespectful. It would be interesting to find out whether these bodies are victims of Hamas, patients of the hospital who simply died and were buried, or victims of the war and or the IDF.
