      Maybe land owner liked water frontage, then some animal hater destroyed the free dam. Hope you checked with environment agency before releasing water?

    Beavers are remarkable creatures.. There were fortunes made from their meat and pelts .. By the early 19th century they were depleted in all of Europe to make hats.Beaver hats were like owning a Rolex .

    You needed a backhoe to remove the entire dam Otherwise the beaver will rebuild it> It looked like you reopened a previous breach the refilledd. Did you eliminate the beavers for good

    Just curious here. it doesn't look like this pond is jeopardizing any needed farm land Etc. But I'm sure there is more to the situation. Still sad to see. Those ponds , when left alone, are great fishing.

  • @marklucas1601
    @marklucas1601 6 дней назад +2

    You know that is a lot of work, and the Beavers will plug it up in two days. You need to use a backhoe or excavator ..

  • @kirkberg-ug5np
    @kirkberg-ug5np 3 дня назад +2

    Wouldn't actually destroying the dam instead of just opening a small spot be more affective?
    Opening a small space means the Beaver only needs to repair that small space.
    Get rid of the Beavers then destroy the dam.

    good stuff ,that is a BIG pond with lots of water that should make for a great down stream flood footage if you captured it,would be nice if you could widen your break about 6 feet more of the damn

  • @rustyiron
    @rustyiron 12 дней назад

    They use grass, reeds logs and sticks for rebar and and mud for concrete. Perfect example of why a narrow deep breach works to your advantage, a repair is easier to remove than opening a whole dam. Suggestions don't let the material you pull out of the pile up at the foot of the dam. White water shows material blocking the flow of water removing it should make the removal of mud easier. If you are going to put the culvert back the discharge end needs to be higher than the inlet, typically the maximum level of water you want in the pond/lake.

    No because if the federal government sees water standing they want to declare it wet land and then no body can touch their property or the wet land and then you might have to buy flood insurance for your home if you close to the beavers

    If you would take more of the dam area out maybe they wouldn't build it back so fast you only make a small hole in it so you can keep coming back to make more videos for u tube😮

    • @krispy3681
      @krispy3681 6 дней назад +1

      The size hole made does not matter. Beavers can and will re-plug it.
      And there's a good possibility the farmer uses that pond for irrigation reasons. So a proper balance has to be maintained

    Why not allow the Beavers to have a little lake? Always messing with Nature is why we have the environmental problems we do.

    • @CBD-Life-South-Africa
      @CBD-Life-South-Africa 7 дней назад

      Because sadly these beavers don't stop making their dams deeper, and they flood the farm to the point the farms loose money because they can't plant in mud.

  • @bradleymarquardt4464
    @bradleymarquardt4464 6 дней назад +1

    So you remove beaver dams without removing the beaver first? WOW what you do that so they keep rebuilding, and you can keep charging them? What a racket.

    • @foxriverbushcraft2345

    • @foxriverbushcraft2345
      @foxriverbushcraft2345  7 дней назад +2

      These ponds are man made - the beavers moved in from the river and are flooding the ponds out to much the dam I removed is a relief drainage for the ponds that lead in to the creek and into the fox river if the beavers clog it it causes major flooding and destroys the property around the ponds

    • @edwardg.5212
      @edwardg.5212 7 дней назад

      Beaver are stimulated to dam by the sound of running water, putting in the right kind of drainage would solve the issue.

  • @Sailor376also

    Your destruction of a normal ecosystem I find reprehesible. Beavers and beaver ponds,, are responsible for nearly every acre of farm land in the northern US. Fish , bugs, birds, frogs, salamanders, all live in the pond. The pond is there to protect the beaver and its home. Go find a different hobby.
