GreenBeauty I love amla but like you, I found the paste a MONSTER to wash out of my natural hair. I use it as an ingredient in my henna oil blend mix and in my Ayurvedic hair tea spritz but one of my FAVORITE ways to use it is as a face mask! Just the powder and water and mixed into a paste and left on moist skin until it dries up. Or amla, turmeric powder, a little lemon juice and water then mix into a paste and let sit until it has dried or alma/bentonite clay mix. There are so many options but it’s remarkable how super smooth and super clean it makes my skin feel afterwards. 😍
penne123 I have been getting mine from either my local Indian grocery store or from Amazon but now that I have discovered mehandi.com I’ll be getting my amla from them. I like how have their henna tested at an independent lab to make sure it’s pure and high quality so since I like their henna I’ll use them for other powders also. They sell amla and cassia obovata (what some people call neutral henna even though it’s not the same plant). It not like I’ve had any issues with the local store amla or the ones I’ve gotten from Amazon I just want to do one stop shopping for those herbs.
GreenBeauty l mix mine with black tea and my curls are more defined. It tends to make my hair go brown, my hair used to be brown when l was younger but it is now black.

I love Amla Powder I've been using it for the last 8 years! I've incorporated it into my shea butter and in my deep conditioner. Its great for the skin and hair
I have been using high quality amla oil almost daily for a year and this video CLEARLY explained two things to me. 1) I have one hair that is white starting about midway point on hair shaft to the tip and the rest is black! This strand was starting to go white and reversed!! I probably have only 2-3 white hairs on my head and I can't find the others to see if the same happened. 2) My hair has been feeling crunchy and brittle for a while. I suspected the amla oil but wasn't sure. I was blaming everything else. Now I know it's most likely vitamin c overload from the amla. I'm going to cut it out completely and see if my hair feels better. Thanks Green Beauty!!
Your voice is so calming. I eat Amla too. I buy glass jar Amla sometimes grind them and use in my hair. It's food so I can use to feed hair directly too.
I do not want to put all that oil in my hair so have you ever made they amla mixture for your hair where you black in the amla in a pot or a frying pan and just add hot water and make a paste and let it sit overnight ...? If so do you shampoo it out with regular shampoo or do you just rinse it out with water and no shampoo ? Also do you know anyone who has put this on gray hair and it darkened it a little bit in the first try ?
@@kirannathani9123 I did mix some in water and let it sit overnight ... I was going to put it on my hair and leave it in with a shower cap and then that just sat there for several days until it started to get mold in it ...haha ... and now i have no more amla left until i go back to the store . Only im worried because i know it has iron in it and i don't know if putting iron on the head where it can just soak into the scalp is good ... I know it's iron and its natural form but did hear that it's not a good idea because it's still a metal that will soak into the brain ... last year I heard that scientists are starting to worry about the effects of iron on the brain especially as people get older ... maybe they don't mean naturally occurring iron ... ?
This video is right on time! I just brought a whole ayurvedic stash including amla. I'm making an oil with amla, fenugreek seeds, rosemary, and peppermint oil. Can't wait to use it. Keep these great videos coming. 😍

Samantha Pollack Hello I'm from Senegal. I went to pay the Amla oil but the shop keeper told me I've to melt it with another hair ointment if not my hair will fall. Is it true? Can you please tell me how you use it?
I use Amla but I don’t make a thick paste. I make it super runny and thin. You still get all the benefits. You can get a ton of uses and it’s much easier to rinse it out of your hair.
How do you store your paste? And do you just use it as a conditioner? I try not to use too many products in my hair so the less steps I can do the better?
I have just discovered yr vids tonight. I'm blown away by the professionalism of your video presentations. I'm also so interested in the science you bring...as I discovered you today I have so much to look forward to...I can't wait. Thank you do much!! Keep doing what you do..black girls appreciate it!
I love Amla also. I use it with my deep conditioner adding brahmi and bhringraj. Time for me to do another treatment. I like the condition as well as how dark it leaves my strands. Would like to make an oil infusion. You always give great information!
I love amla. I use both the amla oil and mask. Over a long period of time I'd pick the mask. Its more moisturizing and really increases hair growth. The oil does these things too but to lesser extent. However, the oil really makes the roots more manageable
I really appreciate the use of scientific studies-not enough people do that in the beauty industry - but I also want to point out that just because something is natural doesn’t mean that it’s safe. Arsenic is natural, but I wouldn’t recommend an arsenic hair mask. *Sometimes* synthetic ingredients can be beneficial because the cosmetic chemists know how certain substances will react when used. Also- sometimes they need to use synthetic ingredients to stabilize the product and to aid in delivery of the chemicals(natural or synthetic)/ingredients to the hair shaft/skin. Are there amazing benefits associated with using plant and nature based products? Yes. Are there problematic synthetic ingredients? Yes, alcohol, sd alcohol, and alcohol denat(although sometimes it’s okay) are not good to use in the hair. But lavender and lemon juice (as in if you were to open up a lemon and use it for a diy beauty regimen) can also be damaging. And tea tree oil- While it has many benefits- should be used cautiously. Also- everything is made of chemicals.
Hi.do you have blond hair or dark ? Mine are dark blond more like yellow now brassish , dyed many times so super damaged ,super frizzy n dry . I tried amla powder once - cant remember how - i made paste with coconut oil i think .it become even more dry and bit more yellow ... dont know what i did wrong ...
I’ve been waiting for this video. I use Amal in my DIY Sheabiscus Rainforest Treatment that I got from fusion of cultures. You use two scoops of Shea butter, a deep conditioner of your choice, honey, Rosemary Essential oil, hibiscus powder, Amal Powder, and Bamboo Extract. This is a deep conditioner. You mix the ingredients and put it in your hair after shampooing. Let sit for thirty minutes under a steamer or with plastic cap then rinse. I used this every wash day and my hair loves it. I actually used Green Beauty’s clay wash for Hair growth and followed with is conditioner. My hair felt AMAZING!!!!🤗

I've used amla mixed in with my henna treatments to darken the result and lessen my grey hairs. I have dry coarse Asian hair, so I'm intrigued by making the oil. Never tried it that way!
Riki Dementia hi ! Do u have a lot of grey hair n if that is so then would really like to know which color u get by doing that? Pls reply as my hair r pretty damaged bcos of coloring but scared to use henna as I don't want the red color 😀so please tell
Glad I found your channel. However, I would like to say that the worse thing that can happen is not that you wouldn't like the results. Some people can be alergic to one of these plants or ingredients, even if they are natural. I would advise to try them first on a small surface of their skin.
Thank you for your professionalism and quality of work. I have Kapha/Vata hair and the quiz was amazing and accurate. DO you recommend certain herbs/essential oils for high porosity and other herbs for low porosity hair?
I am SOOOO excited about this series! I would love you to do a video on Zizyphus Spina Christi as a hair cleanser/hair thickener. There is so little info or videos about this seemingly miracle Ayurvedic herb so I ordered 100 grams this week and will have to be my own guinea pig but would love to see your take on it. Thank you for this video!!! This was the fastest I’ve ever clicked on a video, ever. 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Currently I have fenugreek powder and seeds, henna, amla, ashwagandha, and yellow dock powder. All I really want now is marshmallow root and powder, along with hibiscus and a few clays.
I have a Amla/Fenugreek/Bringaraj/Nettle/Marshmallow root/Horsetail root in my hair right now. I put about a tsp of each (wanted to start slow) but do you have an actual recipe with measures? Thank you 😊 P.s. I'm also going to infuse some herbs 🌿 in oils. Great video!
Thank You GreenBeauty for your helpful tips and taking time to put together this educational video.. I just started using henna last week and I love the results..I also made henna oil. I am a new subscriber. Thanks again for sharing.
For those who cannot do this I recommend buying ayurvedic oils from Indian brands such as Just herbs, Tribe concepts (90 day miracle hair oil)), or Shesha naturals.
I love your videos! I've been binge watching them for the last few days LOL. Unlike most other videos, they're very informative, and I don't feel a need to fact check because they line up with my own knowledge (I study biology and nutrition). I also love that you include references and links to more information in the description (although I have not checked them out yet). Can you do a video on aloe vera juice (or gel) on hair? :) P.S. Your hair is beautiful!
I'm excited to try ayurveda! I just brought yellow dock powder to reverse my anemia and I almost died at the odor and taste of the tea I made. I imagine my reaction was similar to how people feel with neem oil. This is why so many people eat junk food (which I'm not a fan of even for a teen) all the time because it treats the taste buds and nose way WAY better. I'm gonna go smell of essential oils now

@@gardensofthegods it may darken but after mths of consistently using it ...u can mix yogurt and amla pwd n apply on hair as mask
JerseyDiva82 me too minus amla
JerseyDiva82 May I ask what do you use for your main oil?
Will try,👍
Where to buy Amla oil,

Your channel is so informative.i kove the science of hair approach! Thank you for being such a great educator!
I would love to know how to use amla or fenugreek and other herbs that hat will not stain grey hair, but help with dry thinng, falling, grey afro hair!
I really appreciate the time you take to make such quality videos with so much information yet easy to follow along and understand!
Thanks, I’m glad the videos are helpful
Why does this brilliantly wonderful channel not have 500 thousand subscribers.
I love Amla powder and dried Amla. Ayruvdic herbs have truly saved my hair. Thanks for educating me more on Alma herb.
Great info! I love using amla oil. I’ve been using it since I was a little girl
Samantha Pollack Hello I'm from Senegal. I went to pay the Amla oil but the shop keeper told me I've to melt it with another hair ointment if not my hair will fall. Is it true? Can you please tell me how you use it?
Salane Diawara idk about that but maybe get it and test it on a small bit of hair to see what it does to your hair
Dayo Ogunde yes I did
I melt it in a spray bottle with different oil
I've not noticed any particular change yet...
Salane Diawara oh no maybe a different ayruvedic herb would work
Please how can I get it.
Okay I'm sold. Because I'm locking my hair and I want my hair darker.
I love amla. I use both the amla oil and mask. Over a long period of time I'd pick the mask. Its more moisturizing and really increases hair growth. The oil does these things too but to lesser extent. However, the oil really makes the roots more manageable
This stuff is magical, I just put some on and it feels amazing.
I saw those fruit at my maternal grandmother’s house
Yes we have it in Cameroon
That’s so nice. I wish I had an Amla tree 💚
Love Amla oil!!! Curl pattern super defined without gels/souffles.
How do you use it?
I am amazed at how smart she is 😊 i’m hooked on these videos. Wish I had found these videos 8 months ago when I first went natural
Amla is amazing, i used to use it and it made my hair stop breaking and shiny like craazy.
thank you for sharing this video!
How do you use it? Oil or paste?
paste
Precious Lafleur good to know!
Before I try new things... I always check your channel to get the facts ☺️💕💕
I can't believe I just found your channel, the content is so good!
This is one of the BEST haircare videos on youtube. Thank you for all the time you put in to making this highly informative and useful video. You Rock! 😁😁👍👍🙂🙂
Thanks ... I’m glad it helped
Thank you for the time you take to make these videos. I'm learing a lot and the appearance of the videos is lovely to see.
I use Alma with cassia, fenugreek and hibiscus in my bi weekly deep conditioning.
Do you use heat when you deep condition?
Nicole CNC how's it working for you? Please share.
Fenugreek is a super drug I swear. The spritz is everything!
@@mochabeauty6052 agreed, i love fenugreek
Please do anyone know how to get the Amla in Nigeria
I made an ayurvedic hair growth oil out of amla and I also made a hair mask only it was a pudding like consistency and easy to wash out.
My results the amla mask made my curls popping
I can do without alma, it keeps my white hair black and helps clean my scull from the chemical build up Thankyou for this video it help.
I add amla powder to my conditioner and drink it in my smoothie
Do you know anyone who has ever made the hair color out of it without using any oil ? Do you know anyone who did this that had gray hair and it darkened it somewhat in the first try ?
Words can’t describe how much I e learned from your channel. Great video!
Love love love this. I am already using amla powder. But with this I have some adjustments to do. Thanks Green Beauty
very well put together video, thanks! I use the paste method but I use green tea water/amyla(2x)/aloe vera poweder (1X)/and a touch of cassia obovota (.5x) to aid in elongating my 4C curls. I sit under a heated cap for 1hour too. I am loving using Amyla. I have found that my skin does not like Fenugreek or Chebe powders. I do this about once per month. What is your herbal oil mix recipe?
For the paste, I mix whole egg and amla powder. It conditions my hair and works great to grow it.
Hi just found this hair information it is great
I have hair lost in top
I guess hormones problem and cortisol
Can I just mix AMLA in water or juice and drink thanks for early reply Help
I will be trying several Ayurvedic herbs in a new hair care formula and am using your most excellent information to help make my experience and recipe successful. I love your channel and am a relatively new subbie! I also appreciate your professionalism and the obvious care, time and attention that you dedicate to Green Beauty and yourviewers. I also simply love you calm, clear and articulate voice! Your channel is most informative and you are delightful. I'm a relatively new subbie and look forward to learning more from you. Be blessed sista because you are! Shalom
Thank You 😁
This is outstanding and so are ALLLLLLLLLLLL YOUR PRODUCTS!!!! Please share where we can purchase AMLA Powder.
Girlll you did a whole project🤣Thank you tho for the in depth information is was perfect!!!
Glad it was helpful!
Love green beauty for this best channel on RUclips !!!😍😍😍
You have a nice voice for (instructional) videos - thank you.
I'm a new subbie and I love watching your videos! I'm learning what may or may not work for my hair since I watched your series explaining curl pattern, density, thickness, porosity and something else lol. I really enjoy learning the science of it all! This is the first time in years that I'm excited about my next wash day! Like who am I?!? Thank you so much!!! 🤗😁
One question. I use your onion juice already. And love it. Can i mix amla to that juice. Would really appreciate if you could describe a a onion, amla and garlic juice mix for hair.
Sis it is more than u can imagine ❤️❤️❤️❤️😊i pray for u always for those helpful tips and free education ur giving us ❤️ur giving us more than we deserve ❤️❤️thank you soo much 🌻may u stay blessed and safe always sister ❤️❤️much love and respect for wat ur doing...🤗🤗
Have so many benefits of Amla or Indian gooseberry, I love Amla.
I've been so looking forward to this series. I vote for shikakai next. I appreciated the tips at the end about best practices. 👍🏽👍🏽
Thanks doll. Have you done any research on hibiscus flower powder? It seems to share the same benefits as Amla
Love this serie, will you be doing one on fenugreek too?
Highly informative video for a beginner. Educational and taught me step by step. Unlike other videos just tell you their experience, and I'm still left with questions.
I mix amla powder and henna powder to do a henna treatment every month. I have noticed reduced shedding.
Henna gives orange color if I am not wrong?
@@sunitanambiaryourlegalpal8424 - Yes, but my hair is very dark so the auburn color is only noticeable in the sunlight.
Thank you so much for doing an Ayurvedic series, GB. I now know my doshas (kapha-vata) and now I'm finally convinced to use the amla I purchased a while ago. I can't wait to watch the rest of the series! Thank you!
@@kirannathani9123 it does make my grey hairs red and my naturally dark hairs dark brown
Best video I’ve seen about the benefits of alma. I will continue to use it thanks 😊
Still love your channel, you get get better and better every time. Keep up the great work sis.
Love listening to your voice- -so calming. Just starting my Ayurvedic journey.
Have you used it n hope it has helped to thicken and grow your hair ❣️
This video was super helpful with lots of useful information! 😍 I'm going to make Amla oil tomorrow, thank you so much!
I love how well researched your videos always are. Super helpful!
Thank You
You are soooo my #1 go to person! I so wanna order you natural products but it's 40$ just in shipping fees :-(... I absolutely love your videos
I plan on braiding my hair for 2 months, can I use this amla oil on my scalp everyday?
Really helpful hints, What I like is your ton of sound. calm and educated. Thank you for this video.
Currently I have fenugreek powder and seeds, henna, amla, ashwagandha, and yellow dock powder. All I really want now is marshmallow root and powder, along with hibiscus and a few clays.
EXCELLENT information in an informative video with high production values. Thank you!
This one goes to the library. ☀️
Arabesque Jacob you should check out RUclipsr Curly Proverbs, she has loads of video on Auyervedic pruoducts.
Thank You GreenBeauty for your helpful tips and taking time to put together this educational video.. I just started using henna last week and I love the results..I also made henna oil. I am a new subscriber. Thanks again for sharing.
Sista Solijah how did u make henna oil?
For those who cannot do this I recommend buying ayurvedic oils from Indian brands such as Just herbs, Tribe concepts (90 day miracle hair oil)), or Shesha naturals.
Thank you 🙏🏽
I’m making my first batch of alma oil now. Thanks
P.S. Your hair is beautiful!
I just love how very descriptive your videos are. I shop from your store and love your products. Thank you for educating me on my hair ❤️❤️🤗
Thanks a lots for the info very well explain and you are very well educated
I'm excited to try ayurveda! I just brought yellow dock powder to reverse my anemia and I almost died at the odor and taste of the tea I made. I imagine my reaction was similar to how people feel with neem oil. This is why so many people eat junk food (which I'm not a fan of even for a teen) all the time because it treats the taste buds and nose way WAY better. I'm gonna go smell of essential oils now
You are awesome. Love the calming voice, and top-notch research. Keep up the great work sis.
I’m obsessed with that white double boiler pot with the stainless steel rim. May I ask did u purchase it on Amazon?
