For this 5MINUTES episode we went to Switzerland, more precisely Biel. To film a long overdue episode with the amazing ROSY ONE in her studio and on the wall. ROSY talks about then and now, paints a wall and does what we all love her for: sketching.
"ROSY ONE is a graffiti artist from the very beginning. When she started back in 1989, the hip-hop movement was still in its infancy. ROSY danced, djed and quickly began to paint regularly on trains. In the 90s years she was accused of the case because of its scope by the media. ROSY was ultimately sentenced to a large sum and had to go to prison. Today she talks about it and her further career as a graffiti artist - about her unique style, the relationship to her characters, various projects such as her popular calendars and exhibitions."
Für diese 5MINUTES waren wir in der Schweiz unterwegs, genauer in Biel. Um eine längst überfällige Episode mit der großartigen ROSY ONE in ihrem Atelier zu drehen. Während ROSY von damals und heute erzählt, malt ROSY eine Wand und macht das, wofür wir sie alle lieben: Zeichnen.
"ROSY ONE ist eine Graffitikünstlerin der ersten Stunde. Als sie damals im Jahr 1989 angefangen hat, war die HipHop Bewegung noch in den Kinderschuhen. ROSY tanzt, legt auf und fängt schnell an, regelmäßig auf Zügen zu malen. In den 90iger Jahren wird sie dafür Angeklagte der Fall geht aufgrund der Tragweite durch die Medien. ROSY wurde letztendlich zu einer hohen Summe verurteilt und musste ins Gefängnis. Heute spricht sie darüber und ihren weiteren Werdegang als Graffitikünstlerin - über ihren einzigartigen Stil, die Beziehung zu ihren Figuren, diverse Projekte wie ihren beliebten Jahreskalender und Ausstellungen."

Schweizer Löhne und über drei Jahre hinweg zwe bis drei Züge in der Woche. Passt schon.
das hat nichts mit rechtssprechung zu tun. der schaden beläuft sich auf 1.2 mio. also die reiniungskosten und die kosten die züge aus dem traffic zu ziehen
Richtig dope und sympathisch. Interessant, wie sie den Stift halt.
Ich schau mir die mini Doku nun schon zum 3 oder 4 mal an. Ich liebe ihren Style und Einstellung.

Nicht mein Style, zu oldschoolig für mich (subjektiv), aber clean und still fresh. Sofort verliebt in die Klugheit und Reflektiertheit. Lebt an der Wand im Moment. The real deal. Und der Mitgestaltungsanspruch exakt meine Meinung. In von Eigentumsrechten verseuchten Zeiten einfach zeigen: Hier ist ein Mensch, der sich seinen Platz nimmt.
Hi- interested in your comment about the style being too old school. Isn’t all graffiti lettering inherently old school because it’s all based on the same tradition of letters started by the original style writers- what else is there?
@@mintymintygogo No, sorry. The lettering is all based on latin alphabetic letters. We might agree on that. But the first Amsterdam and Paris styles have nothing to do with the New York styles. So there aren't "the" original style writers in the first place.
@@bernhardschmidt1276 Here for genuine reasons- not to disagree… I’ve never known about any lettering other than what started in NYC. I would be interested to know about anything else there is. Surely the original styles pioneered in the States came before anything in Europe so therefore even the first styles from Holland or France would be old school NYC based letters. I’ve never any letters than aren’t but would love to know more..?
Well, there is an almost unknown book ;-) called Spraycan Art. It came out several years after Subway Art. It is not scientifically represantable - how could it be - but you get a picture of how European graffiiti emancipated (is this even a word in English? Hmmm...) from the NYC roots. Google for Bando, Mode2, Shoe, Delta in the early and mid-80's. It is funny how the mentioned books caused a certain canon (not the shooting device, check the semantic value :-)) of impressions of NYC graffiti which might not represantable at all. Sure, Seen and Lee were to be mentioned and hallowed but there were much more writers left to be forgotten who had an impact on the scene.
@@mintymintygogo And there will be always the gap between illegal and legal graffiti. What can you achieve under pressure, and what with plenty of time. Two completely different cultures, you might say.

Ja, steht auch in der Beschreibung. In der arte Mediathek laufen die Rechte für unserer Episoden nach 2 oder 3 Jahren aus, dann gehen sie dort offline und bei und wieder online. Allerdings mit englischen Untertiteln, was vorher leider nicht der Fall war.
