No anesthetic and because they aren't supposed to open tissue with a scalpel, they dig in using a needle or some other acne tool. Poor guy, it looks so painful. Mr Pops, I just got out of Hospital 2 weeks ago. I had a painful cyst on my bum cheek, 2 days later I collapsed at home. My German Shepherd opened my back door and was outside barking all night. A neighbour knew this was unusual and called to my house. I got up to answer the door and collapsed in the hallway. I had Sepsis. I had 3 surgeries, 2 whilst I was sedated in Intensive Care and one afterwards. The Community Nurse packs my wound every 2 days. Even as a woman of 54, such extensive surgery was and continues to be hard to accept. I remember having an absess on my finger tip once, and it was so "hot" that anesthetics didn't work but I begged the doctors at the hospital to pop it and relieve the pressure. There was talk of amputating the tip of the finger but I still have it. That was in 2018, and my finger tip has nerve damage, but I'm grateful for the care I got.
Oh that poor man 😞. You did an amazing job of talking him through the procedure as you were doing it, Greg. I'm sure it must speed up recovery time 🥰. I hope his recovery is going well, are we going to get follow ups soon? Thanks to you both for sharing btw 🌹
Some people dont have the same reaction to numbing mixes. Poor guy, thank you for being so sympathetic in this one. Im one of those that most meds dont work like they should even at max dosage so I know from what an awake procedure without the pain being managed does to a person.
I’m one of those people. My dentist starts at three to four times as much lidocaine as he typically uses. I usually have to just deal with the pain, like this guy. It’s very common in those with EDS. On the other hand, I broke my arm, full on compound fracture, and I could do handstands on it. My pain reception is VERY screwy.
I can certainly relate Kricket I had a Stent put into a heart valve and the freezing did not take at all. The Dr's.ignored I had been on a high dose very strong pain medication most of my adult life. I knew I was in trouble when they started cutting through my wrist and it felt like a steak knife. I immediately started to go into shock and for some reason was unable to speak. The Dr. doing the procedure was new and the Senior Dr. Was so focused on encouraging him he never bothered to check on me. Finally when my body started to shiver the nurse gave me 5 ml of Fentanyl but because of my opioid tolerance it did nothing. Of course I survived lol but the Dr. Had been so rough during the procedure I had been told I would have some slight bruising on my wrist what I ended up with was an arm the was so black all the way into my armpit it looked like I had frostbite and a lump the size of a soft ball in my armpit for six weeks. The biggest shame is I have always trusted medical professionals and been fearless during other procedures. That confidence is gone. On top of things the ambulance picked me up 3 hours before I was supposed to leave and my arm was supposed to stay raised and imobile when they strapped me in my arm was at my side and we were stuck in rush hour for an extra 2 hrs. Boy I must have needed to get this off my chest. If anyone made it through you are very kind. The irony my Hubby who is saddly no longer with me had 3 Stents put in through his groin and said he felt nothing he had no bruising and bless his heart was cutting the lawn the next morning when I woke up😊❤
@dixierae3442 for some reason I can't read the full thing I'm sorry but I'm sorry this is so common for some. The other lady on here mentioned e.d.s. ehler-danlos syndrome I think. Ever heard of it? I totally understand the need to vent about traumatic medical encounters. I'm glad you're ok now t though!.
@karenneill9109 yea with all my epidural during c-sections I could move my lower half after the spinal block. I also have ptsd from that. I felt it all through' pressure'. Including the removal of my womb to get the baby out, the replacement of my stitched womb, and the resulting hemorrhage. I felt myself bleeding out. It's so odd. I've always had this issue with numbing and pain medication. Really any medication. I always need more than the max dose for any real effect to happen. I've wondered if I have E D S alot but have no idea where to begin trying to get tested. My shoulders and joints have always had an issue with popping out of socket. Ranging from a good stretch to painful/can't use it.
@@kricket8801 How wonderfully honest you are Kricket. I appreciate that as well as your kindness. I haven't heard of that before but will sure look into it. Something that I did get from that experience is I will speak up very loudly at the first twinge of discomfort and make sure they are aware this is an issue for me. Wishing you the best of health.

I’ve had several kidney stones and I swore they were the most painful thing on earth, even more than childbirth. I was wrong. This poor man sounded like he was passing a stone while giving birth. He is a champion for tolerating the pushing. That inflamed cyst looked excruciating before it was even touched! Luckily he went to Greg, he’s a master at numbing as much as humanly possible. 👍🏻
Ewww, why do you have so many gross things happening with your vagina? I just watched that nasty cyst puke all sorts of nauseating things out while already feeling ill myself beforehand. Now I have to think about how horrible your situation must look? I'm going to puke.
I had a monster kidney stone three weeks after giving birth naturally. Childbirth did not hold a candle to the pain of that kidney stone. The only time in my life I blacked out from pain.
I had a kidney stone the size of a quarter I had it zapped with lipotripsy, and the s.o.b. came back to haunt me.The pain from the kidney stone was so intense, that I was barfing into a grocery bag while in rush hour traffic.
My heart feels for this man. I can hear the pain when he breaths, and it was so difficult, I couldn't finish watching it. Having a PA who cares REALLY HELPS!! I hope his follow up comes soon, it will be great to see him healed!!

I had an abscess above my tailbone and decided to put a heating pad on the area. I fell asleep overnight with it on my bare skin, on high, and burned the crap out of myself. Long story short, I went to the ER to get it drained.... those numbing injections were HORRIBLE! I'd rather have my ACL repaired again than that!! Great job to the patient!! Great job Greg!!
Pain management is an artform, I swear. Well done Greg. I've been on the receiving end a time or two but I'm very well acquainted with the joy of relief that I can endure the preceding pain pretty well. Bring it on if it means getting past dealing with this situation. I thank the patient for sharing. That was a big one and I bet it hurt. Well done with the breathing and having a sense of humor about it all. Hope you are enjoying feeling better. Cheers.
I had an abscess drained on my side that was so full and tight when they finally opened it up it was so relieving. Felt like a quart of hot goo. I was laying on my side and couldn't see but I saw the assisting nurse wince slightly at the sight. Ended up with a hole 2" deep and 4" wide I had to pack gauze in for weeks.
Wow, tough one for the patient, the temptation to push it all out and clean it is definitely there, but his pain level changes your mind quickly. Bless his heart, you just can't help but feel bad for him, you can hear the pain in his breathing. You are as gentle as possible and it still seemed horrific. Really hope he is doing well now. Hopefully it helps that all these strangers are wishing him well.
What a trooper !!! He pushed through the pain and had a bit of humor as a bonus. Would love to see a follow up if possible. Thank you as always to the patient and yourself Mr. Lynch for the video.
What a great job you did sir. I known first hand how painful these are. Give your your favorite treat for this one! Dr. Greg great job
That was incredible! Love the care you take with your patients, Greg! That was a tough one!
Thanks, Greg, and your lovely patient! Great procedure! Glad he’s on his way to healing and recovery ♥️🙏🏼🌟💐🌹
One of the first here…. I love how this doctor is so gentle, empathetic and very tentative to his patients need…. ❤️
I can imagine how much this hurts. You are a legend. Well done going through that. And it does hurt like hell before people say it doesnt.
What a great patient and a great doctor
If I ever have a bad cyst I'm coming to you! You have the most reassuring and informative bedside manner, and you're obviously great at what you do. This patient was an absolute trooper as well, that was a bad one!
You always care about the patients! love you for it!
Poor guy 😢. You could hear him breathing trying to manage the pain🥺. Looking forward to the follow up to see how he’s doing. Thanks to him for sharing and to Dr G for showing this.
Just did the same procudure today. Not this bad but pretty bad behind my neck. Dr relieved me and drained and gave me antibiotic.
Huge thanks to you all!
Thank your wonderful client for sharing. I was so impressed with your bedside manner and continual checking with the client.
Also, not trying to go further than he could tolerate. You could tell how painful it was. Well done!
This man is AWESOME - Following him on the packing episode - he is charming. 💜
I digress childbirth is an uncontrollable pain lol for hours
I had a monster kidney stone three weeks after giving birth naturally. Childbirth did not hold a candle to the pain of that kidney stone. The only time in my life I blacked out from pain.
Kidney stones are much worse. This guy is a drama queen. I've had them removed with zero deadening shots.
I had a kidney stone the size of a quarter
I had it zapped with lipotripsy, and the s.o.b. came back to haunt me.The pain from the kidney stone was so intense, that I was barfing into a grocery bag while in rush hour traffic.
My heart feels for this man. I can hear the pain when he breaths, and it was so difficult, I couldn't finish watching it. Having a PA who cares REALLY HELPS!! I hope his follow up comes soon, it will be great to see him healed!!
What happens in this house is...I watch these videos of yours (which are great by the way) in my little office alone and then I turn around and my family are standing there behind me in the doorway with a look of horror on their faces. They won't look away, however. Fantastic work Greg, and kudos to the patient for the endurance!
I live with my 79 yo mother and she runs when I try to show her these videos. 😂😂😂
Mine always think I'm watching p0rn when the patients are verbal.. 😅😫
Bless him,you know that had to be tender.
If you don’t want that big daddy Kane pain don’t wait that long people! If you can take care of it early. I know circumstances pop up but try and get that treated before hand. Great job on the part of the patient and the rockin PA
I watch his videos all the time and I am definitely surprised at how much this guy feels the pain! SMDH
He might be like my ex husband, he had no effect from the Caine family like novacaine and lidocaine. He had to be put to sleep to pull a tooth after 7 shots of novacaine left him still feeling everything. But even without that with the acid based shift that abscess definitely was basically neutralizing the lido
one of those "tough guys" but cant even handle a little pain probably lol. smdh indeed! so annoying.
I recently had a procedure where they had to numb inside my nostril 3. Times. I feel for that guy.
Good job doc. You are great!! I have watched a lot of your work. Very caring man. Keep bringing them on, I was in healthcare field. Seen a lot.👍👍👍👍👍👍
I was bobbing and weaving trying not to get hit as you were pushing. I felt his pain and can’t wait for the follow-up.
Makes me grateful I was put under general anaesthetic to drain and pack mine (it was MRSA). I am now left with a bullet hole-like scar.
Man dude was crazy tough!! You such a good job of talking him through this!!
Best pop I’ve seen in a while! Hope he’s ok!!!
God bless🕊💜🕊
WOW! THAT WAS A MONSTER! I FELT THE PAIN THAT POOR GENTLEMEN HAD. I APPRECIATE HIM SHARING THIS VIDEO WITH US! THANK YOU ❤
The patient was a trooper!! Thanks to him for sharing! Love your channel and how you explain so thoroughly. You're the best!
Wow, tough one for the patient, the temptation to push it all out and clean it is definitely there, but his pain level changes your mind quickly. Greg you are always so aware and respectful trying not to hurt the patient, putting it off for another day. The patient did so well, hope he feels better that night.
Wow, wow, wow! Thank you for helping this gentleman! That was tough for everyone involved and the patient is a real MVP for breathing through it! Thank you to him for allowing this to be shared 👍
This was one of the better videos. The patient was a champ.
Bless his heart! I know that was terribly painful. That cyst looks so angry, and I’m sure he will feel better soon.
The patient's grunting & groaning, even when there is no pressure, is quite unbelievable
Seriously. Typical delicate man, with no pain tolerance...
Don't women breathe like this when giving birth?
You ever had an abcess drained?
All he's patients are do dramatic
Someone is kind enough to allow a personal medical procedure to be released to entertain this odd little community, but all you want to do is be mean and poke fun.
He didn’t have to let this go up on RUclips. The poor guy is clearly in a great deal of pain and you’re making fun of him for it.
It’s sad to see how common casual cruelty is becoming
Ouchieeeee. That one definitely hurt to watch. I could hear how much pain the poor guy was in. But he did so well!! And you did an amazing job getting through it quickly and professionally. Amazing bed side manner. Your patients are super lucky to have you as their Doctor!
The poor man, he was in so much pain… Hope he never has to go through that again.
I've had several of these and they are extremely painful but I didn't do all of that. I had to mute it. The breathing was a little much for me.
Breathing wayyy too hard
Yep... Typical delicate man, no pain tolerance whatsoever...
This poor guy! I can’t imagine how painful this must have been for him but his focussed breathing tells us all we need.
I can only imagine the relief he feels today!
Handled that like a BOSS!!! Well done sir!!!
Man that poor guy was in so much pain. You did great on trying to calm him down. Love your videos as always
awww i bet he felt so much better you do an amazing job!
I’ve said it before but am saying it again…love how gentle you are with continued injections!!
You appear very gentle with that needle. Makes a change from most others. Well done.
Poor guy, sympathize with him, I’ve had a lot of painful procedures too but that looked awful, hope it clears up fast.
❤ that poor man it was so painful, yet he took it. Thank you for helping him. USA NH
Poor guy! He was a trooper. It’s crazy how some of these are so painful even with numbing. Hopefully antibiotics and getting the pressure out will give him some relief.
What a trooper.. i would have passed out long ago!. Thanks to both of you.
I was wincing for the poor man 😱. He was so brave too, can't imagine the pain he must have been in. Impressed with the breathing technique (I should have utilised that when in labour lol)
Great video again Greg 👍
This guy is a stud! I've never had anything like that on my chest, but I did have a pilonidal cyst on my tailbone this size and it's up there with the most painful thing I have been through in life so far... I bet he slept so good that night!
That man is a definite trooper
Well done, Greg! 😊
Thank you sir for sharing. These things can be extremely painful if you have a strong pain response. You powered through like a champ!
Poor man !!!! I can’t imagine how painful that was !!! I hope he feels better now!!!
God bless him. That was hard to watch because of his pain. Pray the pain got better soon.
This patient was a rock star getting through this!
