£425/week is cheap, I actually just googled it and that same house is currently £350 - £550 to rent depending on season, I live in Snowdonia national park and the cheapest is £600/week but that's rare, most holiday lets that big are over £1000/week
Yes, if a group of friends were having a week's holiday and shared the cost, it'd be a lot cheaper than a hotel or a guest house - and probably more enjoyable.
That's what I thought too, it's a 6 bedroom house for ~70£ a day is cheap.

£425/week for a holiday home is really cheap. It would usually be 2 to 3 times as much as that.

Miriam appears more recently on GN with Paul Rudd and Stephen Fry. Both she and Stephen are their usual entertaining selves, even Rudd was quite amusing especially with his camera trick. Not sure if youre able to see that episode - series 29 ep 7.
It’s £450 to rent a whole house for a week….not a hotel room for 1 night, I think it’s a bargain, split between more than one person also.
btw Miriam does not appear in Sister Act. She did appear in End of Days playing a devil woman. It was on that film that Arnie purposefully farted in her face when she was lying down! She never liked him after that lol.
Ive read the book about her memoires. Its good enough but not as funny as I thought it would be. But shes certainly led an interesting life.
I guess they were mixing Miriam up with Maggie Smith in that moment (maybe because of that Maggie impression she did lol), and/or were vaguely aware Miriam played a nun on Call the Midwife.

£425 a week, I thought it was cheap. But I live in Miami. My rent was $1650 back in 2013, and all Miamians’ jaws would drop. They’d tell me I had “cheap rent”. Now, you don’t want to know.

About the first part of the video… 425 divided by 6 people is 70.83 per person. For a group trying to find a cheap place to stay for an outing or vacation, Miriam could actually charge WAY more than that, considering it’s a house with a yard/water access/no wall neighbors. I’m actually impressed with its accessibility. If I’m ever looking for a place to rent with a group on the Strait of Dover, I’m gonna look into her rental house. 😂
I recently watched the TV series mentioned by Emily Blunt. It's called The English and I recommend it to everyone. It's one of the best mini-series I've ever watched - and heartbreaking.
