- We are discussing the details of a new universal basic income program that was just announced by one of the states and how they would be implementing a $750 one time annual check to all residents across the entire state. This is the first of its kind universal basic income program across the entire country. There are numerous guarantee basic income programs otherwise known as monthly checks, recurring checks, ongoing checks but this would be the first of its kind universal basic income program in the United States. We want to watch the details of this because this is very impactful and would also likely spread to other states all across the country and possibly on a nationwide basis. You are getting it only if you live in a very few states
Why don’t u report when these ideas are finalized which will be never. But every other day there is a new proposal for over 3 years. None of which ever got approved. Rediculus!!!!!!!!
It just seems like they should give to low income who needs it. Instead of giving it to people it means nothing to. 750.00 right now I'd get to eat everyday this month and get much needed items, like a vacuum cleaner.

Missouri was among the first to end pandemic foodstamps. It ended just as covid was actually hitting here. We didn't get stimulus on our 17 year old juniors and seniors. How they didn't qualify I don't know. We only got the stimulus the entire nation got and not even all of those. Truth is somehow my ex that never had custody or even saw our 12 yr old or paid a dime in child support ever got his stimulus!!! We never got it back. That was the worst! That son is now 20. So yeah it was a very bad thing. I hadn't filed taxes because I had gotten disability and didn't make enough to file taxes. So he got stimulus for him. Even though we hadn't l8ved with him since 2016! He didn't help us at all. No child support no anything. It was awful

What about the state of Georgia people that people on social security and food stamps?
Hey Matt! Hey everyone!
Yeah, I just read an article recently about a program that gave some a lump sum up front, others got a monthly check, some got a larger first time amount followed by monthly checks. They tracked people who received it, and they could spend it on whatever they wanted, and found how well people have been doing since it started.
However, this reminds me of Alaska, where everyone gets a yearly check.. something to do with the oil production , I believe ! But, I thought Oregon had no state tax. But as far as ubi programs go, it is counted against you as income & resources and your other benefits get reduced or completely taken away, like Snap benefits, subsidized housing, etc.! That's why a gbi program is better, it doesn't effect other benefits!
The $1,200/month is an older proposal, but what that one considers low income is actually not all that low, so people that don't need it would be getting those checks, too! I don't think a yearly check can really be considered a ubi program, it just seems like monthly checks are more fitting for that. Here in Idaho, it's pretty much a red state and VERY conservative.. they don't like to give anything to anyone!
I feel like it's been so long since the need for a gbi program, and they're very aware of the need, but there really hasn't been much progress toward them. So it's hard to say if /when a nationwide gbi program would be implemented. Most of the smaller programs in the states that have them only accept those that meet certain criteria, so there's not really that many people on them.

I'm disabled I've been disabled since 93 and I have not gotten out one damn check that you said that I was supposed to get in the mail the 1200 check the other $1,200 check that was $1,400 I ain't got none of that

@AlbertSmith-mm9vk Everytime a stimulus check was issued I received a check. This close to a presidential election stimulus checks are a hot button topic. Platforms like this one and about 3 others I follow release new videos daily. Like I said previously I check my bank account every night and if a direct deposit is pending I'll check my bank account again the next day but I don't get all worked up about it if it's not in the bank yet. #StimulusMoney2024

Nothing in Florida for low income or fixed income since last stimulus ,and is it a one time check ?
Why is social security have strict rules in funding? Especially in giving increases?
If that would happen will we have to pay the money back
And when they do increase tax for corps in their state, those corps will move to other states so they don't have to pay the extra tax OR, they'll raise prices and everyone will be struggling as before they go the check.

Oregon's doing it they are a democratic state. I live in a Republican state. If my state does it it will be one of the last to do it. My state sucks!

Matt 150 programs across the US is NOT a Ton!! Think about how many people live in the US and how many of us are low income on somekind of Ss benefit, 150 programs that are extremly, extremly , extremly hard and LIMITED to get into is NOT A TON!!! PLEASE BRING THAT INTO PERSPECTIVE !! More are rejected than selected, believe me! I live in a state where one is being tested, only in 1 small area, which SUCKS!! THERE are more poor areas, Way more than one and TONS of poor people all over our state that don't live in that very small area and we were automatically rejected just because we didn't live in that small area, how fair is that! My point is these programs are NOT HUGH ACROSS THE US! 150 of them isn't even a drop in the bucket! They are also in my humble opinion done very unfairly!
Going from the ridiculous to the sublime. Joke is the right word here.
