Rappa is such a freaking Chad this episode. I love how, despite wanting to beat them more than anything, he recognized that all of them were too messed up to continue fighting, so he let Fat Gum and Kirishima patch themselves up. That's something a regular villain would never do.

I get what Montana is saying about Rappa. He would never be a hero for moral reasons, but he could be convinced to team up with heroes to help take down a particularly impressive villain just so he could fight them. The kind of fighter who the heroes feel comfortable releasing Rappa on because they're on a whole nother level anyway. Like some villains in later seasons.

(At 9:55) Now this story of Rappa, got me a little worried. Because we get to hear how he became so much more bulkier against someone who overpowered and one shot him, repeatedly. Did you noticed how small he was and his muscles were compared to then and now?

    • @mbpoblet
      @mbpoblet 7 месяцев назад +1

Chisaki might have had something to do with that (Rappa + some steaks + Overhaul -> bulkier Rappa), though I doubt Rappa would've been OK with "cheating" that way, so it's probably just training (or Chisaki made him a little bit stronger every time he rebuilt him, without Rappa noticing).
Another neat thing about Rappa is that his quirk isn't super strength, or speed, or endurance, or anything like that. He's got slightly more articulated shoulders. That's all. So while that might help him punch a bit faster, or stronger, his strength is 99% due to training and skill (and maybe whatever extra muscles Chisaki gave him).
(Toga's also similar, in that she mostly uses stealth and martial arts, which have absolutely nothing to do with her quirk.)

This episode is weird to say a brief wind down in the Overhaul raid if you ask me but it’s also mainly setup so who am I to hold it against it being stuck between two BELOVED episodes in this arc. I have nothing against this episode other than it just has a rough role to be where it is.
Overhaul hasn’t gotten away FULLY thankfully but he’s found time to set the stage for MORE waves in this number whittling method to come front and center. And somehow has a cooperative TOGA AND TWICE there to cover for him. Which we can put on hold for now. Overhaul knows what he has can derail all of society and is happy to throw all those loyal to exclusively his boss to the wolves because all he needs is himself and the Yakuza boss to keep the Shie Hassaikai alive. Not that even some of his CLOSEST MEMBERS don’t seem to notice or care how much is being thrown aside as garbage. And I know it’s villains but JEEZ is it rough to see so little value or appreciation for his minions although not perfectly, ARE doing what has been assigned of them.
Fat Gum is left with everyone in the room being absolutely TRASHED from the fight last time. Rappa has broken arms and likely many other injuries, I have no idea how the likes of Tengai SURVIVED when Rappa took the same hit and is BUILT for this level of combat while he is not. And Kirishima once again is just SHATTERED after all this and has managed to beat Deku’s broken bone record. (Let’s say as beat up and unresponsive as he looks, that’s STILL censored. He had holes blown into his arms at the BEGINNING and then dove in to stall for Fat Gum at THAT level of injury cost) Which as we saw in the Todoroki battle and Muscular battle ESPECIALLY that record is not one you want to be CLOSE to much less hold the crown of a record like THIS!
Fat Gum gives Kirishima all the validation and concern that he deserves for everything he’s done, and it makes me SO HAPPY to just be in the moment and put everything into being proud of him, acknowledging his accomplishments and also just being UNHOLY levels of concerned holding a kid with a shattered skeleton. And I just think SEE?! Aizawa, All-Might, Gran Torino, Sir Nighteye, and EVERYONE OTHER THAN URARAKA, THAT is how you validate heroism, the feelings of the selfless, AND giving true care for his wellbeing in a non destructive fashion! Why can’t DEKU get this?! Also while reflecting on what he’s become he talks about pestering Amajiki into submission. He seems to have ALSO forgotten that Amajiki deliberately invited him to speak about work studies AND intended to introduce him to Fat Gum. (Likely after Kirishima called Mirio “Unrivaled”) Both Amajiki AND Kirishima said that Kirishima made demands of Amajiki, and Fat Gum is the only one that says it like it really happened with the official invite.
Rappa is STILL up. Surely he’s going to fight while broken to insure that the fight ends on a satisfying note! Nope! He COMPLETELY breaks the expectation says the fight is on hold because none of them can fight anymore and that means they can’t fight to the absolute finish. So better to patch themselves up and try again for a more proper rematch challenge. This man is ABSOLUTELY evil Goku mindset. Healing your opponents while exhausted and crippled? Gotta put respect on Rappa here. Pushing Tengai down, and just saying his world is his ring. Stepping into his ring doesn’t give you his respect it’s proving to be an actual challenge. And he LOVED this challenge. Not caring about getting arrested, not about the drug operation, not apart of ANY of that because it’s ALL he wants. Seriously put the guy in the ring with pro heroes and just let them loose and Rappa would have the time of his life. (Even if no one dies on this level of combat) But it all comes at the revelation that Rappa has lost to Overhaul 5 times. I think Rappa is the fastest member of the Hassaikai period. And it’s NOT close. But Overhaul CAN just 1-shot him at a mere touch. So all he has to do is have his hand in the way and Rappa can’t get a win in. So we’re in for a RIDE with what’s going on outside this field.
Rocklock finally gets his moment. To lock things down in time and space completely shackled is just a crazy effect. I can assume he wanted to use his quirk to freeze people like Overhaul in place but knows his limits can be reached quickly while Mimic is going nuts. AND he can’t even stop him entirely. Thankfully Deku is just blasting through these projectile….walls. And it’s getting thicker and thicker.
If Mimic can’t keep them back, he’s forced into separating them to cause chaos. And who better than the league to do that. Toga and Twice have entered the field as the next wave. I’ll just cause them the chaotic wave. Toga has a copy made by Twice and just waits for Rocklock to commit to dealing with her double. (SUPER cool move to block the knife and lock in space so she can’t press it any further disarming her at the same time. Plus his punch is hard enough to break an arm pretty resoundingly.) And the moment he breaks it, she breaks HIM. And quickly has to commit to being an imposter. This is the exact moment that the heroes realize Toga was on the provisional license field with how Camie was acting and how her body melted the mass off her when Toga was layering disguises. (Still don’t know what happened to real Camie) Deku gets to look at his harasser/stalker in the eye this time. And this time people will believe him I’m sure. And injuring Aizawa is NEVER a good thing right before the waves we truly need him for. And Toga is JUST so happy she came. And that’s…a choice in phrasing.
Also for anyone that thinks Uraraka and Deku’s time together is not as much anymore and just Uraraka just obsessing over Deku, Deku appears to be learning some basics of Gunhead Martial Arts dodging JUST like Uraraka did on camp. So it stands to reason she’s been helping him on the side like Iida helps with Deku’s leg style combat. The trio stands together.
And then there’s what just HAS to be my favorite scene of the episode. Sir Nighteye vs Rappa. Twice just waltzes in to face the police squad while Toga is off spazzing over Deku and throws one of the most fearsome bruisers we’ve seen. AND NIGHTEYE DOESN’T EVEN NEED FORESIGHT TO DODGE ABOUT A MACH 10 VILLAIN. Remember when I said he has likely tested his reaction time with Gran Torino? Yeah here’s your proof he can likely handle his Mach 20 feats or above depending when he did this testing. Then he throws personal seals so hard he makes it look like he just used the FORCE on Rappa RIGHT THROUGH A SEVERAL FOOT CONCRETE STEEL ENFORCED WALL and he holds them like freaking pencils. THOSE ARE 11 LBS. WHAT THE HECK. Even Twice just looks back in complete in utter shock like he didn’t even register the throw happening AT ALL. And mind you, Twice’s copies are the same size, same weight, same gear, move the same, think the same, and last for indefinite amounts of time, provided they aren’t hit by an impact that proportionately breaks the bone of the copy. Rappa’s shoulders rotate at around Mach 10, and it took Fat Gum’s entire fat layer to go both through Tengai’s shield and break both Rappa AND Tengai. Nighteye can just flick his wrist THAT hard WITHOUT charging for any amount of serious effort. I do NOT think Tengai’s shield can hold up to Nighteye watching Rappa get blasted RIGHT THROUGH THE WALL. That is just UNBELIEVABLE. OFA correlated heroes are BROKEN.
I do REALLY like how the league just like Class A is a family. Toga and Twice are especially great bouncing off one another. Twice probably at his depth doesn’t actually mean any level of harm. And it bleeds off on Toga who wants to cause nothing BUT harm. I mean, love her crushes at the expense of all else take your pick. But she actively chooses to go to Twice instead of more attacks on Deku.
And finally we have one of the biggest question marks. Shigaraki SHOCKINGLY cooperated with Overhaul regarding an EXTREMELY unfavorable deal between the two. Overhaul kills one of Shigaraki’s ranks, cripples another, then says I’ll tell you my plan in compensation, AND THEN demands not 1, not 2, BUT 3 LEAGUE MEMBERS to join his ranks to be used. Shigaraki withholds Kurogiri sure so he can do his own thing, but Shigaraki SHOCKINGLY complies. (Does anyone else find it weird that Dabi is not at ALL under consideration? Compress and Spinner I get from Overhaul’s perspective but not Dabi?! He’s the uncontested strongest member outside Shigaraki himself!) Neither Toga OR Twice want ANY part of it because BOTH cared a great deal for Big Sis Mag. And then question if they are just tools to be used by Shigaraki and their own loyalties as a result of such an unfavorable decision. Shigaraki states he is doing this for infiltration and knows that he can’t let them off the hook. And Toga and Twice are just so chaotic and see the “tools” of the Yakuza they just know not to stick around anymore. So what do they do? Decide to mess around with the villain Mimic who has been the single biggest obstacle so far. If he messes up, the heroes have near free rein. And I love how this all connects to the game Overhaul and Shigaraki play where you can take and use the other players pieces. And while Shigaraki may be new at it, he’s a gamer through and through and wanted to turn the table when it came time. And Mimic is NOT having any of this.
This episode isn’t lacking and it’s not like it’s not fun. But it is between 2 episodes with maximum hype levels. It’s like an 8/10 between 2 10’s. And we all know what we’re waiting on for next episode. This arc just rules to me.

This is not the first time Rappa and FatGum were in the same place. There was an incident with instant villains drugged with trigger during an underground mma tournament. Rappa was helping a pro hero take down a villain while FatGum who was patrolling the streets outside tried to stop escaping villains. FatGum was notably slimmer in his early days and wanted to get bigger when he saw all might handle a bunch of villains with ease. Also Rappa had a more wrestler mask compared to the one now with a beak. He's not completely unreasonable. He's only being forced to help overhaul so that he can fight him again. Against the drugged up fighters losing control of their quirk, he was asked not to go too hard on them. At the end of the day, he's someone who wants people to live to their fullest and give it their all. If he hadnt been taken by overhaul and taken by someone like FatGum, he couldve easily been a hero

I don't know if you see this comment but I would like you to take into consideration the anime Clannad and its sequel Clannad After Story. I love seeing your reactions and as a couple I feel you will love this series, it changed my life.

The more flashbacks they show, the more overhaul keeps chopping the branch hes standing on. He underestimates or doesnt comprehend the crazy of LoVs members. Hes just a businessman dealing in drugs which is frowned upon by older yakuza. Their evil bar is very low compared to LoVs members.

Imagine having the ability to disassemble and assemble a person, like it was an object. The way you want it, just by touching that person. It's reasonable to think that Overhaul would lose his humanity. You will realize, in time, that a Quirk Society is not sustainable.

Intensely disagree. It's all a matter of how one uses it. Overhaul could've been an amazing doctor or medic. Instead a group of amoral criminals found him and enabled his worst personality issues.
