I agree so much with the cell phone thing. A lot of people are catching on this too where instead of helping someone in distress, they just take their phones out and record it. Yes it does maybe provide evidence at times but there are cases where someone will just record one half of an incident like if someone yells at them and the person getting yelled at only records that while looking innocent, you end up potentially missing the first half where the person recording started the fight in the first place and you suddenly have hundreds or thousands of people just giving this other person shit. I feel like this will end up being a case study for students down the line like the incident that I heard in my anthro class where this woman was murdered I believe in front of a whole apartment building and everyone literally saw this but no one did a thing. When police asked the people why they did nothing, they all said how they thought someone else must had called 911. Can't imagine living in a world where people either end up not helping you because they too busy taking pictures of you being injured or dying, or just doing nothing because they think someone else already called 911... Then again both of these things could be a thing at the same time in a emergency situation.
Tec Med in Cyberpunk are a Corporate organization. As such their equipment and training are higher than the police. They operate under contract to retrieve/revive by any means...

A quick point about auto-guns and recent American History . I don’t take either side in their employment but.... The infamous embassy that was stormed in Iran (compromising state secrets, oil rights, and human lives,) had heavy guns and gas that could have killed/incapacitated many of the “rioters.” They were not used because it wouldn’t have stopped an entire country. The recently stormed US Capital building had marine and national guard barracks down the street. It also had hi-tech non-lethal weapons meant for quelling large threats. These were mismanaged somehow, just like military’s response to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor. The point is that history is full of blunders at highly protected locations. Nobody should ever assume a plan will work out just because it looks cool on paper. Or because we want to feel in control.

I may not totally agree with him on a lot of issues but this man definitely understands the cyberpunk genre. The idea of total "protection" over the rights and privacy of the people, taking the human element out of law enforcement, corporations running law enforcement for their own private interests instead of the good of the people. All heavy, scary stuff and he explains it really well.
I mean it’s happened before. The British East Indies Company was more heavily armed than their military and could deputize any military vessel and was unaccountable. Reconstruction of evidence, mounted turrets and drones are still new cause of AI and deep learning. Getting it to a state where it can think, learn and adapt like a human or better is the future.
Calling something AI doesn’t make it intelligent. We’ve had home computers that can make decisions since the 90s. I doubt we’ll have computers with a “mind” for 30-40 years at least. That still doesn’t affect whether they make good calls in tense situations or how they avoid camera tampering tricks and hacking/viruses.

@@ChrisTHECOP You're welcome, thank you for your service and for doing these videos. It goes a long ways towards helping people understand more about actual police work as well as showing the humanity behind the badge.
In the 90's tabletop game, there was a playable cop class that represented the average patrol cop or junior detective. Your special skill was Authority, you can give punks the Dirty Harry speech or the Dredd "I am the Law!" and get them in line with your intimidation, status and the weight of the city government or all. They didn't have all the varied combat skills of a mercenary solo, they just had handgun, fistfighting and whacking people with a baton. They did have a lot more skills in how to read people. You can read people or a crowd or talk them down. Specialist officers like the IT guys, undercover investigators, the SWAT team and the forensics people would usually be a different class. Cops on the Night City streets have helmets at all times. Modern armour in 2020 is lighter and can make a big difference even against a dude with a rifle. Something like a kevlar vest, jacket or armour pants with an optional heavy flak vest. But people in this world can wear a tailored kevlar suit including tie to a party without coming off as weird. Squad cars are armoured, again something matched in the civilian market as well. The normal patrol cops don't have the fanciest cyberwear. Most people don't have the expensive cutting edge stuff either, just ease of life things like interface plugs to link to their car, a medical reader etc. The violence around them is greater. Gangs have paramilitary stuff. Unofficial corporate militias too, and it's hard to tell the difference between them. A lot more weirdos can get high-powered weapons, claws in their arms, trip on Blue Glass, get an AI-operated gun. The city is more fractured, the mix of corp rivals, lack of a federal level, citizen watch militias behaving like gangs and different departments being influenced by corps make it hard to do any joint effort.
I work in the medical field and as much as the paramedic units look amazing in this game, arming paramedics in real life is a bad idea to me. The liability of non law enforcement persons using a firearm poses serious legal issues for corporate and for the individual. Not to mention police are first on scene. Regardless, I’m glad pretty much most paramedics and EMTs are against the idea.
Given how frequently medics and firefighters are atttacked right now whenever a riot occurs, it seems to be a moot point as of this point. Mind you, that's not even taking about all the drug addicts or crazies out there who readily attack medics and firefighters because either "the Quazar Gods told them to do so" or for any other number of insane reasons, both in-game and IRL. Not casting a vote either way, just informing you of some other circumstances.
I know in my area in Britain our rural crime teams uses drones to guide in other units in poaching cases but I can’t speak for other departments in our police forces I’m only going on before covid was a word back in the the summer of 2018
People really need to do they're research before slaying on CP2077. The game was in development hell for 7 years because CDPR a very small polish company had no resources or cash to pull off in the time demanded. The game was originally supposed to be the witch on a cyberpunk universe and actually in 3rd person not 1st person. The game had to be entirely re-hauled in 2016 due to the original staff disagreeing with management over the times of release and the management pulled in people from the west creating a language barrier meaning alot of the time someone would be let's say creating a shader, just to find out someone else had already done it. The cops where added last minute due to nobody really knowing what game the management wanted.. was it a GTA clone or an RPG... so that's why the cops are half baked. And still after all this it had less bugs than assassins creed: valhalla who was created by a giant company called Ubisoft with no funding issues. That game on release had a game breaking bug at the start of the game witch stopped you professing to England witch took 2 days to patch (ubisoft have now had a game breaking bug in the past 3 titles, origins, odessy, valhalla) on top of this it still had more minor/major bugs than CP2077 The media curupted CP2077 because of its late release anyone who's followed the news on the game since its ancient knows this... dispite all this the developers wanted a release of 2022 but was forced to release early.
Naaah, This game is waaay more broken than Valhalla. But anyway... Are you just makeing excuses for lazy development ? Should i feel bad for them ? I don't tbh

CDPR wanted to release in 2022 now to make amends are releasing patches early 2021 and free DLC late 2021. AC:V patches never ending (due to its never ending bugs) and paid DLC (with screwed up lore) with pay fashion skins. Believe me I did my reseach, do you're own before you call false.

"Should we arm our first responders?" A thing I could see maybe being an issue, like in Cyberpunk lore, the patient being charged with any and all bullets fired. Cause I remember reading somewhere that if Trauma Team has to lay down suppressive fire to get you out of a location, you would be billed/fined for all rounds of ammo fired.

I believe the wanted system in Cyberpunk was made last minute, so they just threw in that once you the player commit a crime the police will just spawn in. Not a game design. Just rushed. Believe we all can agree that the wanted system is trash and immersion breaking.
An actual believable AI system would have the cops Spawning out of view a few blocks away in cars. Not teleporting in stacks.

It's just sad that they get a cop to react at this pathetic police system, but not on mafia 2 or DE... They have the best police system

4 stars = Shooting at criminal with Thompson M1A1/Shotgun

This was actually really good video, I hope that you get more people on to talk about Cyberpunk. The lore is so rich to explore

I like the points in your comment though. I just get tired of every decision being solely about “AI” these days. It has as reliable a definition as organic foods.

I work in the medical field and as much as the paramedic units look amazing in this game, arming
paramedics in real life is a bad idea to me. The liability of non law enforcement persons using a firearm poses serious legal issues for corporate and for the individual. Not to mention police are
first on scene.

That game on release had a game breaking bug at the start of the game witch stopped you professing to England witch took 2 days to patch (ubisoft have now had a game breaking bug in the past 3 titles, origins, odessy, valhalla) on top of this it still had more minor/major bugs than CP2077
The media curupted CP2077 because of its late release anyone who's followed the news on the game since its ancient knows this... dispite all this the developers wanted a release of 2022 but was forced to release early.
Naaah, This game is waaay more broken than Valhalla. But anyway... Are you just makeing excuses for lazy development ? Should i feel bad for them ? I don't tbh

AC:V had no excuse to be released in such a state.
Ubisoft is a giant compared to CDPR and if you do you're reseach on that they gave up on the lore in that game aswell shows how much they care.

They should put automated turrets in some public places in the event of an active shooter. They would be activated with multiple gunshots.
What if the active shooter takes control of these robo guns? If Iran can take control of US drones....
But the system could mistake fireworks and firecrackers for gunshots, plus what if someone tries to defend themselves from the shooter or from some other unrelated crime. The targeting system most likely wouldn't be able to tell the situation apart. armed security is a better option.

Trauma team is kinda like if insurance and the ambulance was molded into 1 thing and since night city (where cyberpunk takes place) is so dangerous (over 7k homicides a day and raising plus cybernetics are basically woven into society like you can legitimately have blades that come out of your arms)
They arm the Trauma team and they're actually stronger than the cops in game since it's nearly impossible to kill them
Imagine wasting this guy's time with this turd of a game.
Given that he actually thought about policing as opposed to spitting words in a lecture I would say this benefited him and us.
