- Relaxing and scenic winter rainy drive around Iceland's stunning landscapes from Kirkjubæjarklaustur to Glacier Lagoon. This is another driving video from my Trip around Iceland an a rainy day that features driving sounds along with rain sounds hitting the window. The rain tends to start and stop multiple times as the Icelandic winter tends to constantly change avery 10-20 minutes. I'll have more Iceland videos soon. Enjoy! :)

I've made this drive before. Drove around the ring road around the whole island back in 2019, living out of the back of a Subaru Legacy hatchback for a week. One of the best trips I've ever taken. Thanks for letting me relive that.

It's quite interesting but without any trees it's also depressing. Reminds me little muddy Britain which also has no trees.
it really is. i did the drive around iceland in 2017 and it was increadible . every 20 minutes or so the landscape completely changes. from rolling grasslands, to volcanic landscapes, deserts, primordial worlds. its just breathtaking.

Were you anywhere close to where the latest volcanic eruptions are?
not really. we visited a few months ago, and even startign in Reykjavik, you're not close enough to the volcano to even see the smoke in the sky or anything (not that i noticed anyway). and from where the glacial lagoon is at the end of the video, that's completely on the other side of the island from where the volcanos are. it took us about 6/7 hours to drive to the glacial lagoon from Reykjavik. so no, not near the volcanos. Plus, i'm fairly certain they have that area closed off, so you can't get close enough to get hurt

Depressing landscape... Even in the summer. But to experience it once is definitely out of question.

A lack of trees and different types of vegetation is for me very depressing.
really? i thought it was beautiful. not many trees no, but being able to see the snow capped mountains and glacial outlets, i thought that was pretty cool. the coastline is very pretty with the black beaches, and there's these cute little churches with red rooves all over the place. it's a very different landscape to be sure, but i guess i just like variety and seeing new things
