the title music for Calamity serves to convey a similar feeling as the title music for the original Dark Souls. Both are about a world that's basically fallen *hard* from its heyday and in an attempt to save it you go out to try to kill the ruler of said world (both being tragic characters but for different reasons) In hopes that you can remake the world as a better place.
You honestly better doing the whole OST at once, this will be a big video, but honestly, there isn't even one bad song and you will have an overload of awesomeness, so it's a win-win for everyone.
One of the things that I think makes Calamity Mod's OST so amazing is the fact that there is just so much variety. There are so many bosses, which all have various themes, and all have completely different tones and genres that they go into. There is so much there that you are bound to find something that you like!
There are some songs that isn’t in the current playlist but is in the game and they are still very good. I’d suggest you guys listening to “nuclear monsoon” by PinpinNeon, “inferior fabrications” and “catastrophic fabrications” by PinpinNeon also. Hope you guys can get around and listen to them, I’m looking forward to it!
As long as they get to HeartPlusUp!'s work (which I think in the official mod is just Engineer's Sanctum, sulphurous sea night and sulphuric depths for now) I'll be happy, so many people overlook her stuff. And Pinpin's. And even Charlie's to a degree.
Ok, in hind sight, i was pretty vauge, if i had any to suggest in specific, please do stained brutal calamity, roar of the jungle dragon, and the theme of the devourer of gods, but do the nonstop mix one, because its like the whole piece.
Came here by looking for reactions to this ost lol, I definitely recommend listening to the whole soundtrack. Dm Dokuro pulled no punches, every song slaps and has to be one of the best osts, which is why it gets recommended to quite a few ost reactors. It also has so much variation, from metal to synthwave, DnB and symphonic. Also make sure you listen to the playlist with 38 vids and not the one with 72, the longer playlist has a bunch on unofficial tracks not from the same person
Also FYI the “before the” interlude songs are not actually in the game, they’re just to help the soundtrack transition for listeners, but still listen to them
Listen to the rest, tbh the boss themes like the cosmic slime are all pretty much bangers. But if you need a recommendation: Guardian of the former seas, Infestation, Return to slime, and the filthy mind are some of the best
