This content is a miss for me ngl I like doing the difficult stuff most of the time just to do it, but I don't like the idea of making a whole gear set for this stuff. I feel like That investment should be rewarded, and to be honest, .5 potency more than might IV on an augment that would at most be a placeholder feels kinda terrible. But nice work on cleaning them up so early
One of the biggest problems with these bosses is a LOT of classes lose raw dps potential simply because the boss moves. Like, sure it's BIG, but when something the size of Nex Aelio does its spin attack, or jump-hover, you have to either gap close and HOPE the attack hits, or wait for it to move in range. Even counters can miss, and the bosses just generally being agile in many cases is a very frustrating thing to manage with a time gate.

They have to design bosses to be interesting to fight from long and short range, from front to back, low to high (because of the variable kinds of terrain and elevation) for 1 to 32 players. Let alone just look kinda cool! The amount of variables there are is feat in itself to design around. So many tab target MMOs have the boss stand still and do AOE without dynamic week points. I think it's amazing how they've been able to design bosses of this scale to accommodate all of these factors. But sure... "god damnit sega"...

This wouldn't have been so bad if they didn't also penalize you for using subclass weapons *cough katana and gunblade At least it would have been maybe a n interesting challenge for these disadvantaged classes to try out different weapon combos to make up for their own weapons weaknesses. Or honestly do away with the timer altogether. For those who want to S-Rank this within a certain time frame, that's already baked into the ranking system for these encounters; Urgent quests and quests in general will make you lose rank if you don't beat them within a certain time frame to start with. I don't know why Sega insists on putting more "gates" for things that already have them.
The duel quest was something that I was waiting to try... but it quickly became a thing I will totally forget and just use them to see my DPS (yup, not taking those seriously as I feel the duel quests are a waste of time and not as fun as trying "Twisted with Hatred" in classic PSO2... even if it's also hard as hell) at best I can do about 45% damage in 5 minutes time to Nex Aeleo... while risking of almost always getting 1-hit KO'ed if I make the tiniest mistake and I'm NOT bothering to do duel quest specific gear in a long time.
It's just such a kick in the balls, solo sodam didn't ever need you to make gear that only works in that quest. Who the heck thought this was a good idea
Regarding the requirements for an S-Rank: 1st boss: 04:56 = 16/600 Pts. 2nd boss: 04:57 = 12/600 Pts. 3rd boss: 04:48 = 48/600 Pts. 4th boss: 04:34 = 104/600 Pts. that means 1 sec = 4 Pts. So for 600/600 (and therefore an S-Rank) you would need to kill the bosses in 02:30!
It's pretty fun, but the more I think about it......"if you create content where augments supposed to be used only for the weapons, but can also be applied to the armor just because, aren't ya trying to kill the content within a few days since it's only clearable with those who is willing to spend millions and millions of meseta where more than 70% don't have? Edit: yeah................continue to think on it and they really screwed this one up. Cause those who have the meseta to gear up for this solo content, pretty much killed the challenge, the reason to beat said content w/o content to boost not only potency, but other buffs. So it's logical to sell the augments and pass duel quest until they adjust it to where it's beatable w/o the defi augments, you can get an S rank w/o the defi augments.
I did a run with slayer with like 5 downs, with fighter sub 90+% pot, no hit, no fixa neos, vs nex aelio and got like 5/6ths of the way. I was playing aggressive, was always on his feet when he wasnt stunned poping my slayer time and unleashed rage asap and had unleashed rage up all the time... still couldnt beat it. So now i gotta farm a giga unit up and cram all the defi augs on and i should be able to finish easily. Still to make a second set of gear to farm for what? Just giga mast? Because the rest aren't really gonna help with pot enough to care might iv, soul iv, gigas mast, halph and mast iv. Sure maybe get tripple ii instead of mast iv but this is stupid content. Should have fixed gear for the quest and make it skill reliant.
The boss damage isn't the issue for me but the damage I do. I thought I had some really good damage on gunner but I can only get these bosses to half health before time runs out. Unfortunate and not an ideal thing to lock these quests behind augments.
Just a reminder that potency augments mutliply together instead of adding. So five lots of 7% Potency would combine to be a 40.3% increase, not 35%. keroppi's listed setup with the Defis only on the weapon should be something like +142.3% Potency total. With Defis on all the units as well, that should go up to +322.9% Potency (20 multiples of 1.07 from augments and 3 multiples of 1.03 from the units). So basically 1.75x damage compared to his current setup.
keep in mind one of them gives 30% and u can slot it in every pice of gear and there r 4 u can have on, so its 120% plus the fact it also gives 7% per so idk how this maths
No, each of the 5 Augments only give 7% Potency. The other bonuses they give are limited to the following: Potency Floor Increase +20%, Damage Reistance +20%, Offensive PP Recovery +30%, Increase PB Gauge when attacking +30%, and Critical Hit Rate +5%. Having 4x Potency Floor Increase +20% is definitely very helpful (that should be enough to get any 50%-100% variance weapon to 100%-100%) and would result in higher average damage: keroppi's current setup with Defi Makemes only on weapon should have a variance of ~70%-100%, so the non-crits would be increasing from ~85% damage to 100% (~1.18x damage). But that's not the same as 20% more Potency, and to compare properly you'd also need to apply bonuses from increased Crit Rate, and that goes a bit beyond a simple comparison.
So basically you could cheese Duel Quest if you have all defis on all units and weapon? 300%+ potency, +80% damage reduction, +20% crit rate, +120% offensive PP recovery, +120% PB recharge, 100% Floor potency.

I can sense the demand for ajax units going up. From the moment i heard of duel quests from the headline it was an immediate pass for me since im not the sorta person to try to challenge myself via difficult content. I also got the blue version of the reward idle so im gucci tho im curious if the mag can change color. I also heard from krono that the defi augments are a pain to farm.
Ajax already went from 20k two days ago to 200k today. Super glad I grabbed a Fixa 1 for the 20k price over the weekend 🤣 makes up for me buying the airboard with cash and then it being in the seasonal shop a little 🤦🏽♂️
the bosses hits like a rock, the damage is too dang high, i used slayer for a couple of runs and i keep getting one shot-ed,.maybe i need to use other class next time. For the new augment, is it only useful for the duels or can be used for all activities? (like UQ or combat sectors)
are the rewards still active or just campaign and no longer available?. i’ve been waiting for this mag since JP base game and i was away for a bit and just returned to playing again to see i’m a week late 😭😭 i’ve been doing the quest last 2 days having trouble with the 3rd then i realized i may be wasting my time. is the mag device account bound as well? i’m assuming 😭😭😭 oh man sega got me so bad
Each second costs 4 points. The math comes out to be beating the quest in 150 seconds, or 2 mins and 30 seconds, for the S-rank. That's very, VERY tight... I think I'll just settle for completion, when/if I get around to doing it.
Man, the rewards right now don't seem to be worth it, do they? Only the new Fusia capsules and maybe a Mastery or Soul IV, from the looks of things. I tried going in without the Defi capsules. BIG mistake. Even with my gear being close to the 100% Potency mark, I still don't have enough DPS to take the bosses down in 5 minutes (Best I got was around 15% HP left on Nex before the time ran out, and I was Fighter). And for an S Rank, you need to do this in half that time? That means the Defi capsules are going to be MANDATORY if you want to reach that. I was hoping that the Defi capsules would drop there, but it seems right now only the Urgent Quest drops them. And with the prices as they currently are, I guess for now I'm better off selling them until the prices plummet, and then take a shot at the Duel Quests. At least I'll get some meseta that way :P. I bet once the capsule prices drop and it's easier to make a full set for the Duel Quests, those duel won't be as brutal anymore.
after watching this and seeing how katana has problems hitting targets i don’t have problems hitting (jet boots user). this game desperately needs movement PAs in my opinion. Katana just rips through a lot of things in this game but i never realized how hard it was for you guys to hit certain targets. Either way movement PAs would benefit every class i feel
I beat this without having to buy the caps or using all of them… NO I cannot get an S grade yet, but if I fight dragon and worm I get an A… I could probably get S if I really tried hard enough.. You can still farm until you get those stupid 2 augments to drop instead of buying from the market.
katana user here. I don't get these fights, I have 12 defi augs and I'm ALWAYS 1 inch of hp away from winning. Edit: Basically crit will make a big difference in the Duels. Potency floor increase is good too, but usually requires losing a bit of potency. Gunblaze has the best potential + base attack for duels as far as I can tell.
12 Augments is definitely enough to clear consistently (since in the video I clear with only 5). Several things to look at are: -What weapon are you using? (Is it Enhanced to 60, Potential Unlocked to Lv 5, Augmented) -Have you invested into add-on skills (Braver add on skill gives you an additional 10% critical rate) -Have you optimized your play style (For Braver against Ams specifically you want to counter as much as possible but on top of that you want to make sure your attacks are hitting the weak spot 'yellow spot on his chest') To do so on Braver it requires you to float SLIGHTLY above the ground most of the time.
@@keroppi my stuff is fully leveled, Astraean Katana at 60 with lv.5 potential, all add-on skill are 16 or above, Ams is the closest I can get to consistent wins, yet it's like if I don't hit enough crits I have start over. I counter every hit, spam lotus lightning, always stay at about knee high with Ams so I can still counter his low kick along with everything else and still hit the weak point. I've beaten Ams a few times, every win felt like I was getting lucky with crits though. I've beaten Nex + Renus, still trying to beat Nils but he always has like 20% hp when time runs out, gonna try bringing a Tenbrous Katana on the side for the meteors, see if that helps. So far though each fight has boiled down to "Crit on the big hits or start over" EDIT: strange part is, after direct comparison I am doing more damage than you in these clips, for example your PB does about 3500 per tic (except the final hit) while mine does about 4500 per tic. So I'm not sure how I'm doing worse. playstyle seems almost identical as well.
Update, it was the crit rate. I normally couldn't beat Nils, like not even coming close like with the other bosses. I switched to a lvl 50 Gunblaze Katana that had no augs, Potential lvl 1, Fixa Fatale lvl 3. I was clearly doing less damage (about 3800 per PB multi hit crit tic instead of 4500) yet was able to win with 30 seconds to spare.

i make new unit for duel quest only defi augment x3 from armor and neos weapon spend 28m to new set and farm Formina augment to exchange and sold Gigas Maste 6-7m = 78m Time to rich agains ez boss to annoying Ams > Renus > Nilus > nex (phase 2 random stuck outside map) 🤣

the new defi augs only work in a duel they give nothing outside of them , the point of the duels is to get augs used to craft the new non-defi augs

I never go ALL OUT on gear. I fine with "good"; I don't need to be maxed out. I'll re-gear for a new region or level increase but not for an "event".

Where did you get the augs to affix your weapon already, I've never even seen 2 of them
he probably had to buy them form the player shops at 1 each from probably 1m a pice or something, so he probably spent 50m atleast

the bosses hits like a rock, the damage is too dang high, i used slayer for a couple of runs and i keep getting one shot-ed,.maybe i need to use other class next time. For the new augment, is it only useful for the duels or can be used for all activities? (like UQ or combat sectors)
Only useful in duel quest, useless elsewhere

Honestly I was expecting more rewards from duel quests. Are these items at least tradeable on personal shop?
are the rewards still active or just campaign and no longer available?. i’ve been waiting for this mag since JP base game and i was away for a bit and just returned to playing again to see i’m a week late 😭😭 i’ve been doing the quest last 2 days having trouble with the 3rd then i realized i may be wasting my time. is the mag device account bound as well? i’m assuming 😭😭😭 oh man sega got me so bad
Each second costs 4 points. The math comes out to be beating the quest in 150 seconds, or 2 mins and 30 seconds, for the S-rank. That's very, VERY tight... I think I'll just settle for completion, when/if I get around to doing it.

Man, the rewards right now don't seem to be worth it, do they? Only the new Fusia capsules and maybe a Mastery or Soul IV, from the looks of things. I tried going in without the Defi capsules. BIG mistake. Even with my gear being close to the 100% Potency mark, I still don't have enough DPS to take the bosses down in 5 minutes (Best I got was around 15% HP left on Nex before the time ran out, and I was Fighter). And for an S Rank, you need to do this in half that time? That means the Defi capsules are going to be MANDATORY if you want to reach that.
I was hoping that the Defi capsules would drop there, but it seems right now only the Urgent Quest drops them. And with the prices as they currently are, I guess for now I'm better off selling them until the prices plummet, and then take a shot at the Duel Quests. At least I'll get some meseta that way :P. I bet once the capsule prices drop and it's easier to make a full set for the Duel Quests, those duel won't be as brutal anymore.

after watching this and seeing how katana has problems hitting targets i don’t have problems hitting (jet boots user). this game desperately needs movement PAs in my opinion. Katana just rips through a lot of things in this game but i never realized how hard it was for you guys to hit certain targets. Either way movement PAs would benefit every class i feel

I beat this without having to buy the caps or using all of them… NO I cannot get an S grade yet, but if I fight dragon and worm I get an A… I could probably get S if I really tried hard enough..
You can still farm until you get those stupid 2 augments to drop instead of buying from the market.

katana user here. I don't get these fights, I have 12 defi augs and I'm ALWAYS 1 inch of hp away from winning.
Edit: Basically crit will make a big difference in the Duels. Potency floor increase is good too, but usually requires losing a bit of potency.
Gunblaze has the best potential + base attack for duels as far as I can tell.
12 Augments is definitely enough to clear consistently (since in the video I clear with only 5).
Several things to look at are:
-What weapon are you using? (Is it Enhanced to 60, Potential Unlocked to Lv 5, Augmented)
-Have you invested into add-on skills (Braver add on skill gives you an additional 10% critical rate)
-Have you optimized your play style (For Braver against Ams specifically you want to counter as much as possible but on top of that you want to make sure your attacks are hitting the weak spot 'yellow spot on his chest') To do so on Braver it requires you to float SLIGHTLY above the ground most of the time.
@@keroppi my stuff is fully leveled, Astraean Katana at 60 with lv.5 potential, all add-on skill are 16 or above, Ams is the closest I can get to consistent wins, yet it's like if I don't hit enough crits I have start over. I counter every hit, spam lotus lightning, always stay at about knee high with Ams so I can still counter his low kick along with everything else and still hit the weak point.
I've beaten Ams a few times, every win felt like I was getting lucky with crits though. I've beaten Nex + Renus, still trying to beat Nils but he always has like 20% hp when time runs out, gonna try bringing a Tenbrous Katana on the side for the meteors, see if that helps.
So far though each fight has boiled down to "Crit on the big hits or start over"
EDIT: strange part is, after direct comparison I am doing more damage than you in these clips, for example your PB does about 3500 per tic (except the final hit) while mine does about 4500 per tic. So I'm not sure how I'm doing worse. playstyle seems almost identical as well.
Update, it was the crit rate. I normally couldn't beat Nils, like not even coming close like with the other bosses. I switched to a lvl 50 Gunblaze Katana that had no augs, Potential lvl 1, Fixa Fatale lvl 3. I was clearly doing less damage (about 3800 per PB multi hit crit tic instead of 4500) yet was able to win with 30 seconds to spare.
Where do you get Defi Plutos and Defi Makemes? I cannot find those anywhere in the game.

man i spent a bunch of hours and money getting OP with other set, now this.. what is all my effort for?? and these augs are mostly expensive to complete, and what i get back from it? tbh i feel more like to quit the game now
