She's my favorite female comic book character - and I've read Wonder Woman, Batgirl, Batwoman and Supergirl. I think it's the subtle "competency porn" aspect of the character - Lois doesn't have powers, she isn't a ninja or super spy, but she is never a *burden* to Clark (actually, she might be the most helpful person in his life). That's why, if Bruce is the world's finest man, I can confidently say Lois is the world's finest woman.

Another great video Midnight Garden. I really love your interpretation of Superman’s secret id. When Siegel and Shuster were creating the initial character concept they based Clark Kent’s appearance on them. They were two nerdy sci-fi geeks whom everyone looked down on, remember it took them five years for them to publish their Superman comic with plenty of publishers saying it would never catch on. Lois Lane was initially based on the girl’s that Siegel and Shuster had crushes on but never gave them the time a day. However, Lois is the only one in the initial stories that is consistently close to finding Superman’s identity, because she also gets devalued as a person being a woman in a male dominated industry at the time.
As you may probably know, Lois Lane’s initial model, Joanne Carter, was one of the first people who believed in the Superman idea. She was of similar age to both of them and took a great interest in the character. Years later in the late 40s she reconnected with Siegel and they got married. Like the character that was based on her she was courageous fighting for Siegel’s creative rights into the the last years of her life life.

I forgot to mention how nice this interpretation of the secret identity is. Lois Lane uncovering Superman's core being the same as Clark Kent's

I love the idea of modern Lois interpretations like Superman and Lois or My Adventures With Superman where Lois is attracted to Clark first.

Could you do a video on the appeal of different Superman love interests. With the multiverse, I figure we should see more branches of Superman's status quo. So I am interested in digging deeper than early comic sexism for revamps. I would love your take on them
i see a lot of potential in characters like Lori Lemaris and Lana Lang but I have no Superman fans to discuss with

I've been working on analyzing Superman for a long time (on my fourth draft currently, being really particular on getting it right), but I hadn't considered looking at his love interests. I'll start thinking about it for sure -- thanks for the suggestion. I can potentially see Lana, then Lori, then Lois all signifying something key in Clark's personal development. Maybe Lyla Lerrol too from Superman #141, an issue I really like where he goes back in time to Krypton.
I don't think this character would be too impactful for him, but this has reminded me of a story in Superman #165 where Superman loses his memory and lives on a farm for a while with a new love interest named Sally Selwyn. I'd recommend that story because I think it's terrific -- and it also eerily "predicts" Christopher Reeve's real-life accident that would occur decades later, because in the story, a depowered Superman is thrown from a horse and ends up in a wheelchair. Weird stuff, but the story turns out very classic-Superman-like.

@@ourmidnightgarden Well, I always was of the opinion that since there are so many different Supermen out there in the multiverse, that he doesn't necessarily need the classic choice of Lois Lane and that he likely would've built many different status quos with his other love interests throughout the other Earths. Where they make things work or the circumstances were completely different. Like comics, take advantage of the multiverse for more fun stories.
So while I am fine with A Superman developing with different love interests in his life. I just would like to see people flex Superman's mythos and it's sheer range more.

A NEW VARIANT OF (LOIS LANE) I IMAGINE, WHO EXISTS IN NEW EARTH-63 REALM:
Now I imagine in the Earth-63 Realm, there is a variant of Lois Lane, who becomes a MetaHuman, and she develops superpowers.
First off, Lois of Earth-63 Realm, I imagine she was born (March 7th, 2006) & I imagine she has light-brown colored eyes.
I imagine the day Lois, had become a MetaHuman, was during an investigation, on a rumor about a company’s laboratory.
To add I imagine she very carefully, snuck into the company’s building, then she picked the lock, of the door to the laboratory.
In addition I imagine, that she noticed a huge machine, then she heard some coming, so she then went into hiding.
But then while she was hiding, she had saw someone suspicious, a person who didn’t look like a scientist, who was tampering with the huge machine.
After that then Lois, accidentally dropped her phone, it made a noise that got, the attention of the suspicious stranger, and he came walking towards her.
Unbeknownst to the suspicious guy, his tampering with the huge machine, caused it to self destruct early, the blast burn some of him.
But what was contained in the huge machine, most of it had come blasting out, towards where Lois was at, and it had infused her with mysterious unknown elements.
I imagine she was found in time by Superman, before taking her to the hospital, he decided to save the bad guy, and take him along with them.
Now I imagine (Lois Lane) spent, a month in the hospital, but when she first got there, it was theorized by the doctor, she might be there for five months.
I imagine two weeks later, Lois Lane’s entire body started to change, the first sign of it, Lois noticed was it glowing purple, and then four days later she developed her first of many powers she could do.
This first Meta-power of Lois Lane’s, was to be able to camouflage herself, I imagine it took her a few days to master using it.
Then a month later, Lois Lane had developed the power, to protect her mind from any type of tampering, she labeled as Mind-Vault.
She discovered this power ability, when some villain tried to tamper with her mind, in order to use her to kill Superman, but it didn’t work.
The 3rd. Meta-Power, Lois Lane had developed, is super fast reflexes, she eventually mastered using it, and later named that ability as Swift-Moves.
The 4th. Meta-Power, Lois Lane had developed, is super strength, making her almost as strong as Superman, and she eventually mastered using it.
The 5th. Meta-Power, Lois Lane had developed, is Night-Vision, so she can see in the dark, she eventually mastered it, and named it as Night-Sight.
The 6th. Meta-Power, Lois Lane had developed, is the ability to form plasma-energy wings, that gives her the ability to fly, and with her wings she is able to fly as fast as Superman.
Her 7th. Meta-Power, is being able to form, an invisible protective shield, that protects her entire body from any type of threat, and once she mastered using it she later named it Invisible-Armor.
Plus to add I imagine, when (Lois Lane) power up, the her eyes changes from brown, to the color purple, and when she extra powers up her eyes glow with a light-purple color to them.
Now I imagine once, Lois Lane had finished, mastering all of her powers, she then decided to become a superhero, and her hero title is MEGA-BABE.
In addition I imagine the colors, of her hero outfit are, pink, purple, and red, and to add I imagine she has a voice-changer device.
