Matty gets the mother (and life) he always wanted, Maisey and her dad get away and can create a life together, and some very bad guys get killed. But poor Jack...he really draws the short straw in this film!
The ending would be a lot better if he was able to escape with Maisey (Jenny) and her father, and take the money. He actually showed a lot of decency upon encountering Maisey's real mother, so he deserved better.
What I dont get is why kidnap the other family if yours got killed in a car accident what if it was her fault on top of that Maisey needs to go back and help Jack he helped her!!

I thought for sure Pa was Rose’s real husband but was the one who accidentally killed their son so she was punishing him. My jaw HIT THE FLOOR when the truth was actually revealed. Loved that twist 😂
Actually when I saw her injecting the medicine and the facial expressions and look pa gave instantly told me the woman is doing something seriously wrong to him but he was too powerless against her
i kinda feel bad for jack. i think it would've been better if he just died if he didn't escaped, instead of being tortured like that. but good thing, jenny and her dad escaped and matty gets a loving mother that will care for him forever. i just wonder too how the police didn't ask jenny where they've been all those years (since they're both missing people yk) and they didn't do much further investigations about rose and her shenanigans. they could've saved jack too if only they did.
Even if she told where she has been, it's explained in the video that Rose, Matty and Jack have move to a new secluded house so the police would take long to find them.

Since Maisey and her dad know exactly the location of the house, I doubt how long Rose can stay in that house. Normally police would question Maisey and then go to arrest Rose immediately.
Why would Jacks brother allow him to be drugged and tortured in the lighthouse at the end? Are the audience expected to believe he didnt know Jack was even there despite all the cameras and the huge amount of work involved in keeping him alive.
One nothing but good mental ill boy who killed a mom gets a new one (the old model was faulty) the girl makes a life with her dad (hopefully not romantic) bad people die shes her mother is the only one who didn't get a happy ending
