  • Puerto Limón - also known simply as Limón - is a port city located on the East Coast of Costa Rica. Named after the Spanish word for lemon, Limón was founded in 1854 and is currently the country’s 7th largest city. According to climate data from Limón International Airport, the city experiences an average of 186 rainy days per year. In this video, we’ll provide an overview of our December 2021 visit to Puerto Limón, when our ship - the Emerald Princess - docked at the port on Christmas Day and we enjoyed the ship-sponsored “Rainforest Walk, Canal Cruise, and Countryside” excursion.

Thanks. This is the second video I have seen and it help me to realize Limon has nothing I need to see. Other videos showed me that if you have seen one canal you have seen them all. Lol.

    Is the port wheelchair accessible?

Most of the immediate port area is accessible, but the canal cruise and rainforest walk were not very accessible during our visit. In fact, a few people on our bus who had mobility issues stayed behind during the rainforest walk. If you're able to do a small step up/over to board the canal cruise boat, then the rest of the experience is spent sitting on a bench. Hope this helps!
