About power outages. In 1999 Denmark had a serious storm (Cat 2, I believe), which caused massive power outages for days. In response to that, it was decided to bury all power lines at 150 kV and below. A massively costly effort but both insurance against future disruptions and much more aesthetically pleasing. Imagine no visible power lines... Well, we're a small, relatively affluent country, so we can afford to make such luxuries.
None of the local news stations think that Deland even exists. Watching hours of news...the Villages...Sumter County...Ocala...but DELAND??? Nope. We had some of the worst rain n wind here, but no mention. No power, either since midnight. Quite a bit of damage too.
The Governor of Texas sent thousands workers to assist Florida in preparations and recovery as soon as rain and wind id over… these two governors are done a magnificent job…. Why you do not mention it…?
Well I'm sorry we don't have a channel that really deals too much with us and I live in Highlands County and we're getting wind gusts here I don't know how much or how strong they are but it's enough time to shake the trailer
I think it could have been worse, believe it or not, people's prayers, preparation, awareness and discipline have helped. Keep the prayers please because many have been affected.
For us here in Orlando we’re very lucky I think the worst was the tornados that tore through some cities n did heavy damage I hope we can reopen up businesses today we are losing lots of money but I’m thankful we were ok
