Brendon and Anthony 2024… got my vote. Make CD’s Great Again!
🙏🎸they aren't go ever anywhere..
but thanks to boys and .....
Record shops is truly an experience, so true! Loved it since I was a teenager.
The Chameleons' debut album, 'Script of the Bridge' is one of the greatest masterpieces of post-punk. Congrats to Anthony for finding it...
A very underrated band.
@@larrysmith5249 Exactly.
Youngstown, OH bowling alley Westside Bowl has a record store in it.
First things first: I enjyoy your videos very much, Brendon! I learn something from every watch! I wished I lived in your area, but I am located in Germany. Keep up the great and informative work!
There is only one thing: Please stop interrupting Anthony when he is telling an interesting story! Everytime he starts something, your start talking. Besides that, great channel and I will keep on watching! Have fun with your music, be it LPs or CDs - I love cassettes too!
Here in Arizona, we have a record store called ZIAS with 6 locations & 2 in Vagas & a place called Bookman's with 5 locations they have CDs Vinyl & books along with other stuff. Plus a few small record shops.
Interesting Vintage Vinyl - I missed that place in fords, NJ - they used to hook me up in the 90's with 12' singles promotional copies cause they knew i DJ - and would get them for a $1.00 - Man i missed those days!!!!
I live in a tri city area here in Southern Ontario , consider myself lucky to have 2 in my city and one in the city right next to us , ( sister city ) , and there are a few in sorrounding places . Then there are a few chain ones that are not bad . Travel into Toronto an hour away and there are a few cool ones .
Unfortunately most places just don't have record stores anymore. And I too also only look for stuff that's hard to find and I've got to where I like to collect the vinyl picture disc. And I sound and Ozzy Osbourne the ultimate sin picture disc still factory sealed from 1985 and that's the stuff I like to look for.
Very cool , episode! Eround me in north Texas DFW eria i have bunch of records strores special Josey record its very cool and im happy this guys its around us here .Have a great days everyone and joy the music and life
I used to think there were none around me. Later on I found five. Turns out I wasn't looking hard enough haha
Glad you looked harder and managed to find 5… that’s awesome!
Hey my city (pop 80k), really does have one record store.
Great video! I’m very lucky to have quite a few record stores in the Poughkeepsie area!
Have a handful of record stores around here in Greensboro, NC. I just wish they sold CDs too!
great video. anthony looks well rested. i support my local shops. if i was in jersey id be in anthony shop twice a week.
Vintage Vinyl and Record Exchange in St. Louis
Pretty cool that you know about the Dallas(dfw) record store scene. I’m definitely very spoiled living here. There’s so many shops here now that I haven’t even visited them all
I’ve got family in the Dallas area so I’ve visited record stores there. It was before I had my channel otherwise I’d have filmed experience videos.
@@BrendonSnyder oh that’s awesome! There’s so many places now even more recently we’ve had many more pop up all across the dfw
I go to Dig it Record Barn all the time!
That's my routine whenever I go to a new city/area: find music stores and then locate museums and bookstores.
The closest record store from my address is produce records in Macon Georgia which is 110 miles. The next closest one is 180 miles in Atlanta.
I’ve lived close to St Louis my whole life and just recently explored some of the record stores I had missed. Great options and pricing over here!
😎👍
Anth like mellenc-'Nothin matters and.. on my causin cass ..i was 13...since been fan
In cousins farm..🙏🎸
Anthony if you would have gone down to Denver Colorado there is a great record store. If you come to Abilene Texas we have one called Record Guys that is great.
Yes, Twist and Shout Records in Denver is amazing.
Should've stopped in Omaha, Anthony.
Homer's Records in the Old Market is top-notch and sure you'd dig it.
Back in Black ☕️
I've gotten Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper CDs for 50¢ each. They were outside a record store in a cardboard box. That's by far the cheapest I've ever gotten a CD.
Nearest record store is an hour with inflated prices. Nearest good record store is 2 hours….its a struggle here….
✌️🌞🎸
I think it's just too hard for most places to stay in business especially if you're having to rent space to set up shop. And there could be just as many of each but I think most people are looking for that hard to find record just for collectors purposes and honestly anybody can just order anything they don't really have to have somebody order it for them. I just don't know too many people that are looking for physical copies to listen to and I honestly don't think I know anybody the actually pays to download music or anything like that when you can just RUclips what you want to listen to instantly. I wish that wasn't the case but unfortunately it seems like the case with every kind of business because I remember there used to be a bunch of skate shops around and now there might be one every 100 miles then I guess that depends on where you live.
As I've said there are about 4 record stores I know of. Two are about 150 miles away, one 290 miles away and one 450 miles away. There's also a good one 500 miles away in Denver.
Long story but was in New Orleans 10 yrs ago and googled record stores around town and found just one good one which only had new cd’s. Pretty sure this was just me not knowing where to look.
Euclid records in the Bywater area. You would have loved that place.
I live in the outer suburbs of Sydney, Australia and there are absolutely NO decent music stores near me, except an electronics store called Jb Hifi who also sells dvd's and music (cd's & vinyl) but mostly popular music. I travel to the cbd of Sydney as there's a store called Utopia records, which is an import store, selling books, cd's, vinyl, dvd's, merchandise, t- shirts etc and I've been buying music there since the mid 1980's. Anything they don't have in stock they'll order for you. I know all the staff and their music knowledge is top shelf
I'm a pretty huge (maybe one of the bigger) Pat Benatar fans out there. But I am missing a few of those Japanese 7 inches. I do have a 1974 original pressing of Day Gig, though. That's pretty priceless to me.
Dont laugh, Dan Fogelbergs song " illinois" is a masterpiece
Cool video
not many left in sheffield -uk
Sad to hear
High Fidelity in Amarillo is awesome. If you're ever in Austin I'm more than happy to drop some recommendations. Austin is one of the most active places in the country for independent record stores. Antones, BLK, End of an Ear, Waterloo, Breakaway, and Alchemy and Sundance in San Marcos are all awesome stores. Also the Austin Record Convention is arguably one of the best conventions in the country. San Antonio record stores are stocked with the metal constantly.
And one of the best OG record stores was called Sound Exchange. That's the former building where Daniel Johnston did the Hi How Are You art piece.
Is that the GnR Poker box up on the wall behind you?
Have four record stores near me... as I'm big into a specific artist, I'm really only looking for that particular thing. One store doesn't sell genuine CDs, only burned CDs, he'll tell you that when you walk in, all empty cases. Another store doesn't carry this type of music, I've asked. One day I'll get to the other two, maybe they'll actually carry something that I want.
based on my buying on ebay, i feel like there's way more in the northeastern part of the US.
Plenty of record stores in Detroit area.
Levykauppa äx in Finland👌..i'm a customer.
..also feed them from market place..
Earlier there was sign-don't feet the seller-🌞between the shelves
One question I would ask Anthony when he goes to the other Records stores does he tell people he owns a Record store when he goes in?
Jackson Hole is rich and a different demographic. It's like Palm Springs, Lake Tahoe, or Gatlinburg where rent is at a premium.
Discogs levels the playing field to some degree on prices
Except you don’t really know the quality until it arrives. I feel I find better deals through eBay plus I can see a selection of photos that I can inspect the quality in advance. But it’s just personal preference. I also like Amazon Marketplace since Amazon backs it and returns are so easy.
@@BrendonSnyder ive had big successes and pain in the ass defeats on all of them. I think they all do an excellent job making things right if there is a problem. In the last decade of buying online ive had maybe 3 or 4 had to go to the mats with a bad seller. In fact two recently. But one on ebay was particularly toxic. It was the first time i used eBay’s guarantee and they did refund my money.
Anyway anytime I’m near a record store , of course thats my favorite and best way to pick up vinyl.
Hello to Anthony! Ive been to Sound Exchange a couple times but he hasn’t been there, always a Sunday. But i always find something good there at an excellent price. Ill try hit them on a weekday next time.
Eminem's new album came out today! Anyone listen to it?
Digital only so far…but no, not my cup of tea.
Nice CHAMELEONS mention. No reaction from Brendon which tells me he never heard of them. I think it's time to sell your Dennis DeYoung solo albums and get some real music😊
yup…there are NO record stores
