Thank you so much for watching! xx
Your behind the scenes photoshoot are my favorite! It gives me more idea what to do and how to interact with the model
Thank you so much!
OH MY GOSH! I fall in love with this filtres, it's amazing, oh god I wanna all of them!
Thank you for this video. I have the entire kit in my cart and kept looking for videos showing it with photos and not video.
I am getting the Omni creative filter system for Christmas, so excited! I actually discovered Lensbaby through this video and I am obsessed. Please do more Lensbaby reviews!
I love it! I would rather have the effects in camera vs post production. I was the person holding an object in front of my lens. This is a game changer for me. No need to purchase overlays.
I love my lensbaby Omni Filters too. Some videos on my channel but your video has made me go purchase some of the expansion kits.
Right off the bat, I really LOVE the clothing style and hat choice, for this shoot! Very interesting effects, that I can see serving a purpose at times. You model was stunning, and you as well. I always love listening to your voice and really appreciate you posting these fine videos!
Thank you so much!
This looks like it would be a lot of fun using manual focus, beautiful shots
Cool effects and as always we love your videos. The system is a bit expensive for something you can do for cheap with a little ingenuity or completely free in post.
Thank you!
Are there some presets or actions for photoshop or lightroom to mimic these effects.
Very helpful thank you.
I would love to see more male photography videos, the ones you did previously were awesome!
Thank you!! I would love to make another video about that - going to work on it!
Very impressed ,I like the purple filter
Wow! Really good photography! Gorgeous portraits with all your savoir faire.
Thank you so much 😀
This is a freaking fantastic video. You're Commentary and quality of imagery was very illuminating! The model was on point too. What I want to know is, what brand is that dress she was wearing. I want to buy it for someone! :)
Nice tool for flare photos-Very nice
Wasn’t Dan tempted to film the intro and outro with the filters on his lens? 😄
Omg we should have done that!! haha
The filters are really good to try😀
That was cool JT, great filters. Keep it up hija!
when i got my first dslr i hated flares. i always assumed they were unwanted on pics. i always had lens hood on to try to prevent flares.. and here i am now trying to intentionally get beautiful flares.. they are really amazing adition, warms whole picture, takes it to next lvl
Yes I agree!! Welcome to my channel where I welcome lens flares with open arms in my photos haha
Your shots are really good!!!
What was the external recorder you had attached to your camera?
It's a wireless transmitter, I'm not too happy with the quality of it though (it's usually super choppy and pixelated) so I'm still looking for a better one and will recommend when I find something good :)
Awesome video Julia. These look awesome. Also Thomas Heaton let slip in one of his latest videos that you're going down to Antarctica next year for a Photography expedition
Thank you and yes!! It's going to be such an incredible trip - super excited to get to do some portrait photography workshops while I'm there :D
I really love the background music
I really love your voice!!
Nice video Julia..!
omg those presets you did on lightroom are perfect! I don't know if you could give a little hint on the presets. Thank you. Your works are great I'm kinda looking for the flare effects directly when shooting, not only for Adobe stuffs and editing afterwards.
Nice video! Do you your turn your preview off on your camera?
I do love lensbaby they make some epic lenses, I’m really excited to try this set.
I agree, I love what Lensbaby creates :D
Julia Trotti you need to do a bts using the composer pro with the edge and sweet optics x
I've been playing with the filters for about 2 minutes. Was planning to take them on a shoot today. What I suspect (and I'd be very curious to know anyone else's feelings): maybe 35mm, 50mm is the sweet spot. So, exactly the lens Julia used!
85mm -- I'm having trouble not having the effect occupy too much of the frame, even if it doesn't look like it does through the viewfinder. It's strange.
24mm -- effect kind of gets a bit lost in the wideness.
Hi Julia, I’m a big fan of yours. As a new photographer I am struggling with how my photos look on an OLED display (iPhone 11 Pro Max in my case). A bit cooler with a green tint compared to what I’ve edited on my MacBook Pro (LED display). Will you be switching to an OLED monitor at any point in the future since this seems to be the new and upcoming technology? Thank you!
Hello Folks, I wanna ask you which camera some of the instagram models are using. For example. Dennis Boeer. Michael Yerger. Jaco Brott
I would like to know which camera are the using, I love the quality of the pictures. Also are they editing it, how? If someone know, I would love to hear that from you. Thank u very much!
❤
I NEED this, my birthday is in a few days. Beautiful video btw, I am fascinated with all the creative concepts I can come up with using this kit. Will this work with a SonyA6000?
Always glad to see a new video! Question: I just got myself a sony a7iii and only have budget of $1100usd for a lens, I shoot more wedding/corporate/car events. I heard good reviews on the tamron 28-75mmf2.8 do you have any opinion on this lens ? Or do you recommend something else?
Thanks in advance 😁
itsKEVO it is a great lens but for pro wedding photographer , I think you should think twice .
I got one and eventually sold it because it is just not right . 28mm is not that wide .... I still have to use my 16-35mm if I need a wide shoot .
@@panhaveng6788 I was concerned about the 28mm as well. I know the 17-28mm f2.8 tamron is also coming out. Any opinion on that one ?
24-105 f4 good all around shooting
itsKEVO I would personally wait and get the GM24/70 f2.8 man, I guarantee it’s absolutely worth it!! I rented the tamron 28-75, it’s not bad or anything but i miss that 24mm focal length
@@Faded.Visuals thank you so much! I'll wait as well. I also heard sigma coming out with a 24-70 soon
Awesome video.. just subbed . Excited for more content.
Thank you!
Loved it!!!
Thanks! :D
Hi! Love your content! What external recorder are you using and how did you mount it on the bottom?
hwo do you record the camera screen?
With a wireless transmitter :) You can see it at the bottom of my camera!
Ty! Keep up with the amazing vids!!
Not a fan of these niche myself but cool to see.
Hey great video! love the style of the filter effect!! I was also wondering how do record the screen of the camera while using it.
Thank you! It's a wireless transmitter :)
Julia- This is very creative and instructive work. Do you find a particular focal length and aperture to be most effective with the Omni system? Thank you.
Thank you, glad you liked it! I used a 35mm here so you can more clearly see what the filter does. If you use more telephoto lenses such as 50, 85, 135 the effect blends in a lot more and you can make it look more subtle too :)
@@juliatrotti Thank you for the prompt response. Your work is inspiring. Do you find particular apertures more effective than others ?. I would imagine shooting wide open helps (?)
Oooooh I might get some of these filters myself! I wonder what the effects would look like in a studio light setting?
I would guess it would look pretty cool in a studio setting as well, I might try it in the future if I ever get myself back in a studio :D
If you shot them in a studio hit the filter with a small camera flash from the side as we did in the old days .
If I ever get back in a studio I would love to try these filters out then too!
great video as always! :) i'm thinking about getting this but have seen on the website that they have the lensbaby omni for small and for large systems. which one did you use?
Thank you! I chose the large ring version for 77mm, it also comes with step up and down rings so you can attach it to a few different lenses. If you're stuck on deciding, I would choose which lens I would use it with the most (for me I thought 85mm would look best with these effects and also wanted it to work with my 35 since it's the focal length I use the most) and went with that choice :)
they do look cool..
Julia! What is this external recorder pls?
It's a wireless transmitter.
@@juliatrottigood to know thanks!
can i use the extention kit without the lens attachment?
Yep! You would just have to hold it in front of your lens though with your hands.
Not a big fan of these effects, as they mostly degrade the sharpness and color of the photos. Many of these effects can be applied in post via software and with much greater control. I notice you don't usually use these types of modifiers in your photo shoots, probably for the same reason.
For me sharpness isn't everything and the whole point is to do something fun with the colours of your photos :D You can definitely apply some of these effects in post if you want but I do personally believe doing it in camera on the day usually looks much better/realistic and blends into the photo more. And I agree I don't normally use filters like this usually because they're mostly inefficient, this system is much easier to use so I have intentions of using it more often here and there during photoshoots - I guess time will tell!
👍
