Fuki (the singer here) helped out Gacharic Spin on a tour, they liked working together so much it gave birth to Doll$Boxx. Fuki is currently with the band Unlucky Morpheus and they have a heavy metal violinist (yes you read that correctly) named Jill, who has done violin covers of metal guitar artist Yngwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai and Eddie Van Halen.
DB was started after Fuki of Unlucky Morpheus had to step in, when Gacharic Spins former singer got sick. Arrmy(?) did sadly pass away in 2015.
After this they deicided to make some music together, under the Doll$Boxx name, since they obviously loved working together.
Armmy left Gacharic Spin in 2012, so a whole bunch of years before she passed away. I read that she left (or was fired, not really sure) because she started to miss too many rehearsals because of her illness. She later started an other project (in 2013) with the original Gacharic Spin guitarist Eita who left Gacharic Spin after a couple of months. The project was called Takaeita from both of their names Ashitomi Takae (Armmy) and Eita.
But yes, the rest is also what I found. Fuki was helping them out during some shows (other vocalists did as well) and it just clicked so they decided to create a side-project. It's basically what happened with Nemophila as well.
Lead guitarist TOMOZO passed an audition when she was 17 years old in high school student and started her professional career.
The whole album is amazing its called Dolls Apartment and its a concept album that is a critique of the music industry in Japan. Another cool thing is that every song has a music video, as you saw there is a "to be continued". im certain their is a playlist on youtube somewhere with them in order.
I love Gacharic Spin, but man, I wish they'd bring this side project back.

The funny thing is that some people speculate that Miku might have gotten the idea for a rock band with maid outfits by working in a maid cafe and seeing this music video. It's obviously pure speculation, but the timeframe does somewhat match.

Yes, I also heard that rumor with “Take My Chance” MV, and even if it coincides in time, I don’t think it is true.
She could have been inspired with many different things in the Tokyo area or Japanese TV. Maybe she had this idea in a corner of her head while working in the maid café, who knows. She’s an old pigeon, she has seen many things her 810yo life

Yeah, I agree that it's probably not true. I am still not sure how much of their whole conception story is real and what has been "enhanced", but I assume the majority of it is at least based on reality. It's probably something only the members, especially Miku, and their talent agency Platinum Passport will know for sure.
But that's basically irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, I just found it an interesting theory.
The original Gacharc Spin singer Armmy left Gacharic Spin in 2012 because she was sick and started to miss rehearsals. She later started an other project (in 2013) with the original Gacharic Spin guitarist Eita who left Gacharic Spin after a couple of months. Because their lead singer left, Gacharic Spin was left with 2 singers behind drums and keyboards. They got help of a couple of other vocalists in the beginning (inlcuding Fuki), but afterwards got a couple of dancers to help them fill the void at the front of the stage while Hana and Oreo could sing behind their drumkit and keyboards.
They started Doll$boxx in 2012 with Fuki (Light Bringer back then and now in Unlucky Morpheus) because it clicked so well. They only had a couple of releases since then, their 2012 album (where this song is on), a DVD in 2014 with music videos for all the songs (where this music video is from), an EP in 2017 and a live DVD in 2018. The project isn't officially dead, Fuki still has it on her twtrr profile for example, but it's not clear if we will ever see more music. Both Gacharic Spin and Fuki are very busy (Fuki is in multiple projects).

Hana - the growling drummer - put together a cover of Smells Like a Teen Spirit and that is only with things that she could find around her home during the quarantine probably.
The vocalist on this band also it was in another one that is call "light bringer" her named it's fuki at the moment she's the vocalist of "unlucky Morpheus" I'll highly recommend you reacts to "black pentagram by them. Fuki's such a talented singer
Fuki can do anything with her voice, haha. Wait until you listen to the way she sings in some songs in Unlucky Morpheus, like "Knight of Sword", "Angreifer" or "Dignity of Spirit"...
Remember, no how good you are, there's a cute Japanese lady doing it better, and that should remind you that we're on the best timeline.
What else could make you happier than seeing that there's a blue haired Japanese girl death growling us in a banger like this? She's proof that music has truly transcended it's original scene, and it makes me so happy. That was the whole point, imho.
Great reaction, I like that you write your reactions instead of spoiling the music by talking on it as it is usually the case. 'That song and MV was one of my early introductions to japanese ladies rock/metal back in 2019, and it just blew my mind away, especially since I was first introduced to japanese modern music through the J-Pop idols scene which that MV is an hilarious parody of. Fuki, the 'blonde' lead singer, is one of the most powerful and versatile lady rock singer I am aware of. She is the queen of powerful rock vibrato and is usually more in 'quite serious' symphonic metal. I was able to attend a concert by her regular band Unlucky Morpheus in London, and that is a lifetime memory, as she is not only an amazing vocalist, but also a smashing stage frontlady.. Doll$Boxx was/is a fun side-project for her, and as you know Gacharic Spin is one of the most energetic and crazy acts you can think of, all composed of very gifted musicians. The japanese ladies rock/metal scene is so brilliant, energetic and they do not have limits when mixing styes and influences. It is a 'rabbit hole' difficult to escape. :) For example, I suggest your Patreons to suggest you to react to band Hanabie who is now rising up. They also had lately so much fun MVs based on so energetic and mind blowing tracks. PS; the title of the song here is 'Take my chance', and not 'Take my change'... :)
This song is where I discovered Fuki, and thus Fuki Commune (try out『Bloody Rain』for her solo work) and Unlucky Morpheus. Turns out it's all music I love, even though it's all very different - this isn't at all like Fuki's solo work, and Unlucky Morpheus is very different from both.
There is a recent-ish live by DOLL$BOXX, 「high $pec High Return」, which is excellent, and once again different. They use the "new style" in the songs, even the old songs, which makes them very different.

oll$Boxx is a side project for the Gacharic (Gotcha rick) Spin, ensemble. They are the SAME ladies. Never the less, I have also in the past recommended this video, granted on this channel, I believe I may have even shared a link. Regardless, it's always great to see you Sabina.

DOLL$BOXX is the best thing the GACHARIC SPIN members did after Takae "ARMMY" Ashitomi left in 2012 for medical reasons (and unfortunately she passed away on 10/15/2015, but not before making several albums w/ original GS guitarist EITA, who never actually appeared on a record, but she is super bad ass as a guitarist)...
I would also reccomend you check out early GACHARIC SPIN w/ ARMMY; they were so much cooler when they were a four piece w/ Hana, Koga, Tomo-Zo, and Armmy!

I think it was in 2012 if I remember correctly.
GacharicSpin's lead vocalist at the time disappeared and left the group just as the tour dates in Japan had already been announced.
Fuki (unlucky morpheus) suddenly joined as a support member as a vocalist.
This led to the birth of DOLL $BOXX (a unit for a limited time).
