I have to say I envy you in a very good way. I've never had such a relationship with my father, even when I moved to another country I was happy now I am far away from him. Never had that kind of mentor in my life but I am gonna make sure my future kids don't go through the same. Great video, Nathaniel. Love seeing you with your dad. Saludos desde Mexico hermanito.

I would say the same about my mum or my dad. I've never had such a close relationship with them or having them as my mentors or a good example to follow. I would definitely say that it has to do with their mentality, how our parents grow up and in which conditions (I assume you were born in Russia, I was born in Russia, too, and lived in Ukraine for 11 years).
URSS's countries mentality is pretty rough and tough and everything seems to be a struggle and life is hard, there's no time to think about happiness but about survival and a better life (at least, according to my parents). That's why I'm so different from them, I don't expect them to understand me or to be my mentors since we're just so different that it's just impossible to understand each other on a deeper level.
      Saludos desde Suecia!

A therapist told me that happiness is an emotional like any other, and because of that if you make just happiness a goal you'll never truly succeed. But things like mindfulness, staying present, working and living in alignment with your values, things like that will help you build a life that can bring you happiness

@@QuanTheAlchemist I believe the air is fresh there, but, in the past the land was 40% covered by trees, today is just 0.5%. This doesn't sound good to me, principally for a country that's appreciated by its nature. People look at those giant deforestated mountains and they think it's normal, which in some cases could be, but i think it's very irresponsible. The icelandic government should reforest the land, just like Norwegians did. Google about it.

This video really hit me. This is exactly what I have been experiencing recently. Putting expectation on certain things happening in a certain timeframe and being so frustrated with other things poping up and not allowing me to do the things as planned. And the thing is ok I wasn't happy doing the other things but me being so caught onto the ideas of how my time should look like just made me so much more miserable in comparison then if I were to just accept things as they were and still enjoy my time. Being stuck with my idea of how things should look like is definitely something that I need to work on unlearning.

I think there is a difference between joy and happiness? Even the look of the words infers a variance - ‘joy’ is solidly anchored on three letters, while ‘happiness’ gleefully runs along 9 letters, repeating some letters with abandon. Happiness is a euphoric state that comes and whips up our emotions, allowing them to soar for a time, but then releases them to some other sensation. Whereas joy is a deep-seated, solid state of being that allows you to dwell in a secure state of substance. Acceptance does produce something more solid in my emotions. I call joy a God-given state is not swept away or challenged by unreliable sensations that can ripple through you day by day, hour by hour, moment by moment - it lingers. I enjoy your videos ... I hope you revisit them when you need them.

Wow I loved and needed this reminder about joy/ happiness. I have definitely experienced feeling too attached to an idea of how things should be and then letting it go and feeling relief and/or actually being able to take in a moment and be happy. Thank you for this 🙏🏼

I agreed even with the first words that were said in the video about not forcing situations to be good. I fell into that "trap" before about desiring things to be "better", but later realized that things were actually better for me how they already were!
