    I fricken LOVE that you didn't use C for the example!

      @@Nero-jw8qx Damn right! most beginners won't see the pattern. They will just see "Oh! All white keys. I got it!"

    This is amazing. So clear. Instead of just memorising everything it makes more sense to understand the patterns!

    Lovely vid. This was the 10th video I watched for a simple explanation of what a scale is. You are the only person who succeeded without losing me in complexity.

    I like these videos, but the fact that they are not in a logical order in the playlist is very confusing.
    Thanks for this wonderful content, I guess having to dig around for what I'm interested in is a small price to pay.

    Can you build a scale without using tradition half steps and whole steps? i.e. building based on intervals

    • @Oddquartet
      @Oddquartet  2 года назад +1

      Interesting question. I think it should be possible. We could pick an interval (or two) and see what notes we come up with within an octave and you might have a brand new scale!

    🤔
    ...WWhWWWh(WWhWW[Wh)WWhWW]Wh...
    (Major)
    [natural minor]
    [Wh or the 3 half steps)
    So that’s why... thanks 😊

    Thank youuu, I believe it's less confusing if the example was a C major scale instead of b flat becoz C major scale is easy to look at on the piano
