Buy Visions of Mana here! amzn.to/3xhihmg
Not until they release a Switch 2 version of course, which might happen next year. Anyways, this looks like an amazing game and I will pick it up eventually when they release on Switch 2. I hope midori is correct about this.
Blessed to see all from 1980-Now what a life of gaming can’t believe Visions of Mana it’s about time
This will be my first mana game. I'm pretty pumped about it
Trials of Mana was the best game of 2020 for me. Cannot wait to play Visions of Mana later in the year.
I agree. It got released after FF7Remake, which was fun, but I was more hyped for Trials of Mana, and my god, it was worth the wait.
I like the idea of a female Water element character (at least to start) being a Black Mage and not a healer. Water seems to get shoehorned into healing so much, so it's always neat seeing it being used for an attacker.
Secret of Evermore was a pretty fun game too. I loved the different dogs. Graphics of Mana games for SNES was super cute.
Definitely! I would have loved it Evermore had co-op play. That was one of the best things about Secret of Mana and Seiken Densetsu 3. My brother and I would team up and spend hours playing and replaying Secret of Mana together as kids.
@@acidwizard6528 theres a hack of Evermore that add couch coop. I played the whole game with a friend. Have fun.
Sadly it NEVER left the SNES Era since it never even got a DS/3DS port.
My dream was to make a secret of evermore spiritual successor if I could get my game dev career off the ground.
@@chadgarrett6947 That would be so amazing! I'd love it for both of us if you lived out your dream. You can do it!
I'm so excited for Visions. It looks like everything I'd want in a modern Mana game. The series went off the rails starting with Legend, but with the Trials remake a couple years ago it looks like Squeenix figured out what fans appreciate about Mana.
I haven't been this excited for a game since Baldur's Gate 3, and before that since Trials of Mana.
The music in the background… PLEASE tell me it’s the actual music in the game. The fully orchestrated version of “Into The Thick Of It,” is giving me chills!
I was thinking the same thing, the original music brings me such nostalgia, I would love to hear this in game!
Mana is my favorite series and this game looks amazing, so yeah.. it's very high on my list xD
I played Willow before Mana. When I got to the cave I cried and shut off the game, I was so scared. Mana is so cute and only brought me joy!
This is for sure my game of the Summer! I am so looking forward to this! Trials of Mana is my number 1 game so I'm beyond excited for this!
I’ve decided to play this one & the new Trails back to back
Secret of Mana was my jam as a kid. The last game was so freakin good I’m certain this will be even better if theyre building off that.
Trials of Mana was such a breath of fresh air in this time of lazy ports and dark rpgless action RPGs, giving us the right old school rpg goodness with all the best modern dressings. Can’t wait for this one!
Out of curiosity, what is an example of a 'dark rpgless action RPG'? 😅
@@librarian4life lol basically ff16?
@@willsinfinitelibrary8311 oh, okay. Thanks for clarifying.
@@librarian4life I think I was really blending two ideas there though, dark gritty RPGs, and action games with rpg elements tacked on. I just like bright happy colourful jrpgs with old school character progression!
@willsinfinitelibrary8311 after you said ff16, it made so much sense what you were trying to convey with that statement hehehe.
I think this game is going to be charming and nostalgic AF. I think it’s gonna make me emotional because of how old school it will be in the most beautiful way possible.
Oh and David thanks for covering this game. Not too many people are.
The soul thing is so….intense. It adds a dark essence and sadness to this I wasn’t expecting. The release date trailer had soooooo much in it. I usually don’t watch those but I’m glad I did for this one.
Seems referential to SoM's ending... I wonder if we WILL be able to stop it
I can only go off of what they've shown, and everything they've shown thus far is killing it. I am very hopeful now.
New Mana hype 🥳
Surprised you didn't easily realize FFA and SoM were related. The backstory in FFA's opening crawl clearly describes SoM's major plot points, except "Mana Knights" were previously translated as "Gemma Knights"
Between this and SMT vengeance this summer is epic
Secret of Mana has been one of my favorite games since I powered it on back in 1991. I have been waiting for this kind of Mana game for so long, collector's edition is preordered and I will be diving in day 1.
I'm almost as excited for this as I am for SMTV Vengeance!
Looks pretty good! I can't think of any game I'd want to more coming out anytime soon.
This game looks like Trials of Mana on steroids ... which is a good thing!! The skill trees look to be oozing potential ;)
These character designs are so cool
Loved Final Fantasy Adventure other than the palm tree and eight puzzle, I was stuck on it forever.
A small Legend of Mana fanboy in me wishes that Yoko Shimomura would at least compose a few pieces for this game, but it honestly wouldn't be a turn off for me if not. Excited for this game!
I feel the same way... Nothing's quite hit right since SD3 (though Legend of Mana is still good), and none of the spinoffs were close, even if some had nice aesthetics. Just the initial reveal trailer had me in tears with the music and visuals. I knew IMMEDIATELY from a few notes that it was a Mana game, that that was some damn Kikuta music I was hearing.
My game of the summer will probably be the Elden Ring DLC. I still look forward to this entry, it looks fun.
This looks amazing. ❤️
I got I am Setsuna vibes from the story if the Ulms, which isn’t bad.
I never played any of the Mana games, but the Trailer for Visions of Mana made me :D I platinumed Secret of Mana two days ago and iam about to start Trials of Mana. I hope the trophies for Visions of Mana are fun and not as atrocious and grindy as some of the Secret of Mana trophies. The 2nd Axe Orb took me 4h to grind 😭.
It's so gorgeous 😍 This and SMTV Vengeance.... And Octopath II (and ff Iv 3d) will be my summer games
2024 is going to have an ultra strong 2nd half.. Gonna have soo much stuff to play this summer & fall..
Having seen/played the huge improvement over Seiken Densetsu 3 that was Trials of Mana a couple of years back, I'm really interested in Visions of Mana. If a remake of such a basic game could be so fun, I can only imagine how cool a completely new game lacking the restrictions of having to adhere to a pre-existing game (like Trials did) might be. Fingers crossed! I hope this game is everything that David is hoping for. =)
I was kinda interested in Visions, but now that they've revealed the water chick in the leotard, this game's a Day 1 Buy for me. Looks like I can continue my Gooning Games Streak for 2024!
I, as well, immediately remembered FFX when I watched the trailler. And thats a good thing because FFX had a great story. So excited, Mana series live in my heart and its about time we get a new (good) game.
I am looking forward to this. I have only tried Secret, Trials, Evermore, Legend and that one for the DS. Minus legend they were all good!
This looks pretty awesome actually! Wasn't really on my radar until now.
So loved the trailer for the game. I have played all the past games and loved them all.
Bummed that I cant play this one when it releases since it is not coming out on Switch. 😔
This looks so good and like almost something we would have gotten and seen years ago. Now we just need some remakes of breath of fire.
Game of the year? It didn't come out yet. Let's play it first heh
Right. He may be gushing prematurely over this one but I do hope he’s right…
It’s for clicks
Hello can y’all not read people. Game of the year? The question mark makes huge difference grammar matters go back to school kids
Exactly, he forgot the existence of FF7 Rebirth and Metaphor ReFantazio, probably the best game of Atlus.
That's why there's a "?"
Would've preferred a new top down multiplayer one, those were the things that made this series unique
Looks really good. Thank you SE for not shitting this one.
That release is on my birthday. I am really looking forward to it.
For how hyped you're getting for it without having played it yet, I sure hope it's actually good.
looking great
This game looks good. Only Mana games I played were Secret of Mana and the Game Boy one. Going to get this game.
I played the game boy one a little bit when I was just a little guy, and I remember in fifth grade my friend had a multi-tap for his SNES and we used to 3 player Secret of Mana, that was such a fun experience. I didn't get too into the series, but watching clips here, I just HAVE to play as Julei and attack people with a ball of flowers 🥰
This game looks good. I haven't played any mana games before. I need to pick up some of the older ones. When does this game come out?
I'm playing the Final Fantasy Adventure remake, Adventures of Mana right now. Really enjoying it
I loved Trials of Mana! This game is like Trials of Mana but even better. I predict my top games this year is going to be Visions of Mana and Dragon's Dogma 2.
The game looks so lovely. Getting the full load of Mana vibe there. Already wishlisted on Steam and PS5. Still not sure, where I should play first. For this decision I will first wait for Reviews, where they show the differences performance-wise. Cozy indeed and I like the battle system so far :)
Oh and yes, definitely my game of the summer :D
one day while me and my bro where shopping for games at my local swapmeet back in the day we came upon a spot that had snes games they had secret of mana which included the guide and some other game i cant remember but the point is i bought the other game and later found out how popular the mana games were and i still regret it to this day , true story lol
i'm excited. it looks like a cross between granblue relink and dragon quest
That music takes me right back
I really wish they had figured out Multiplayer support for this and Trials. Lookin great though.
I'm not the biggest Mana fan, but even I got a little verklempt by how beautiful and high quality this game looks.
You should definitely try it out!!
I'm an old fogey who played the original back on the Game Boy when I was a kid. I am hyped beyond measure for Visions!
You and me both!!
Damn, I’ll have to wait and see if this drops on the switch 2 or w e to play
I immediately thought of tales of Symphonia
Jazzed for this game! Thanks for the heads up!
Here's hoping you hit your 100K goal, David! Thank you for the great video
I haven’t heard anything on the special edition. Can you pre order it for US or did I miss out?
Yes the $200 physical Collector's Edition is a Square Enix Store-exclusive for North America, Europe, and Japan.
There will also be a Digital Deluxe edition ($80) which includes a lot of Mana series costumes and music.
Soooo. I am happy about what I’m seeing with this game. The last game in this series I liked was Legend and even I can admit that it wasn’t what fans wanted. The last time a game in this series that ticked the boxes long time fans were asking for was 1995. Think about that. Mana fans are a patient group.
I’m so looking forward to this game! Looking forward to seeing it returning to its roots and Flammie!! He’s a damn cute, but alas I will have to wait to play.. husband and I will be on honeymoon during release, but something additional to look forward to!
I have only played the remake of Secret of Mana, but I really love it and this one is looking like more of the same... A LOT more.
Man, you should play the original... just an overall better game. And Trials too!
I never played a mana game but this looks great
I have the Collection of Mana, have yet to play any of them though. I have a really packed game schedule this year though so, I’m gonna play this one at launch as my first!
I am sooo excited for Visions of Mana! I'm always happy to see Rabites again. Those lil angry chompers are too cute!
I can't wait .thanks for the vid!!!
So excited. We havent had a truly good new Mana game since Legend of mana on the ps1. Last real mana game we got (aside from remake of 3) was dawn of mana on the ps2...which was garbage. Blows me away that the franchise basically was dormant for 20 years.
But man does this game tickle all the nostalgic spots and looks like a fun game too! Maybe my most anticipated game for the rest of the year.
After that trailer this morning I'm glad I pre ordered this only annoying part it's out same day as gundam breakers 4 😂 but still very excited for visions I'm replaying trails
Will it be game of the year? Idk. I do know that my heart feels warm when i play a mana game. I cried at the end of legend of the mana sword for GB
I would love if they added dlc to play the trials of mana characters , ive beat it every way possible and still want more
Final Fantasy XVI is the successor to Final Fantasy Adventure I've always wanted. 😉
I'm finally working on my backlog. It'll be the game of 2035 for me
my game of the summer would be DQ3 if we knew its release date
Same here and with Kai (Kuro no kiseki) 3 being on my list of IMPORT games I'll have about 1 MONTH to play this Mana game before then.
Pre ordering asap
Is it confirmed that Flammie will be a flyable airship in this game?
Game is day 1 for me. Looks like it was legitimately made by 1990s Squaresoft in current times.
It looks like they kept their Summer 2024 promise by 2 days. I was worried when it didn’t show up at the Xbox showcase and thought it was delayed. I even was thinking they may have decided just to wait until the Switch 2 launches next year with their new multiplat strategy.
There's a clip in this video of Flammie flying around above the map so It seems to be confirmed, unless if that's just a small part of the game.
Palamena is the fan service of the game
I'm extremely loving your holiday pics david
I can't wait for Visions of Mana. I only have a Nintendo Switch and have no plans to buy PS5/Xbox series, so I hope they eventually release a Switch 2 version when the system comes out next year, maybe as a launch title. And I believe based on the Amazon and Target listenings, the PS4 version is also releasing in America as well, so I don't know what you are talking about. I also can't wait for Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance tomorrow and I will buy it for my Switch OLED. Do you plan on picking it up Davidvinc? Also, I have been watching your video since 2022, but did not subscribed to you until 2024 because I did not have my own account then, but now I do. Keep making great content like this!
Thanks so much for the support!!
@@davidvinc No problem! If there is any JRPG news, I can always count on your delivering the latest news (aside from PlayerEssence, of course).
Thus game looks so good and I can't wait for Visions of Mana. I was so hyped for it when it was announced. BTW that isn't necessarily Flammie. I saw the name was ramscoh or something like that
I saw that, but he will always be Flammie to me :)
Loved the series overall, but I think Legend of Mana deserves that slot of 4th main title over Dawn of Mana. This looks good, sort of like if Trials of Mana gave you access to all 6 characters at once, switching whenever you liked. Definitely a bit similar to Final Fantasy X, but I loved that one and plenty of other RPGs use the 'chosen one must willingly sacrifice their life to save the world' trope like Tales of Symphonia. I like seeing Flammie participate in battles.
I just realized something: in this trailer Treant refers to multiple alms. And in other trailers I believe the Sprite becomes the Alm of Wind. So I wonder how many Alms per pilgrimage need to sacrifice their soul to keep mana going. Could be more than just Hinna having to risk it all.
I loved mana i love maxing out weapons and spell and how when it was max they had cool new animation. I wonder with the job and vessal changes it will change the weapons? If so will there be some over lap. I would love to see how different people would handle a sword or a whip. But i am uber excited
I'm so getting this collectors edition
I did too!
For the jobs BY lv 99 EVERYTHING should unlock but still at 10 JOB Lvs just for 1 element that's about 80 JOB lvs IN total so about 240 in total.
Gameplay remind me of latest YS series, hope it'll be as good
The release is closer than I expected. I think it'll be exciting to play as well as see the returning faces. If they want to throw the Secret of Mana group in as a super boss I won't complain.
I'm so excited for this game, its one of my most hyped games of this year, with only Ys X Nordics above it. Playing Dawn of Mana now and well....this looks so much better
FF Adventure, Secret of Mana, Densetsu 3, Legend of Mana, Dawn of Mana, Heroes of Mana, this should be number 7, right? But I haven't been interested in a Mana game in a LONG time, and this one piques my interest and makes me realize I should go back and do the Trials/3 remake. Enjoyed the breakdown though. Enjoyable video
There are mainline games and there are spinoffs. Visions is the 5th mainline game.
My game of the summer will be Trails through Daybreak !!!
Game looks great
It looks good and I will enjoy it. As for game of the summer trails through daybreak will be hard to beat.
I've not played a Mana game. This looks great though. Are the remakes of Secret and Trials worth buying?
Trials is definitely worth buying
Play original SoM. Remake of Trials is good though.
My game of the summer is Monster Hunter Stories, so glad I finally get to play it with full voice acting and the Japan only content. I have an interesting history with the mana series: I loved Trials of Mana and Sword of Mana, but the rest of the series doesn't appeal to me.
The game is absolutely beautiful visually. And it's Square Enix, so you know it's gonna be good.
Game of the Summer? More like Game of the YEAR.
