thank you so much for taklng the time to do a time lapse video
I am growing rannunculas for the first time and 99% of youtube videos show people putting them in soil and that's it -(which I KIND OF worked out for myself)
Seeing your different sections over a Spring period from February to the summer is literally **100 times** more informative and helpful and tells me exactly what I need to do in terms of what the different stages entail the pots I'll need etc.
I wish all the youtube videos told the whole story like you have - it's perfect! 🧡
Awesome, thank you for the encouraging comment. I agree, there are so many videos that just have the beginning but do not take you through the entire process. I wanted to bring better content to my viewers if they were going to take their precious time to view my video. Thank you for appreciating that! Hope you have beautiful ranunculus flowers this season!
Thank you for this, especially your comment about them "being stuck" for awhile. I planted just before xmas here in Zone 9 and they've grown about 6" tall and just gotten stuck there. I just discovered my husband turned off the water and was stressed they were ruined, but knowing they kind of pause in growth gives me hope.
No problem! Glad it could help😊 after the pause they should take off!
Great video. You i ncluded what many instructional videos don't have - you showed the entire growing process! I loved being able to see them in bloom months after you planted them. Bravo!
Glad it was helpful! Thank you so much Mary!
So happy I came across your video. I tried planting ranunculus this year and failed miserably . Not one bloom. I had given up and was going to leave the corms in the ground to rot, but after seeing your video I will dig them up and store them so I can try again next year! Thanks so much!
Best of luck!
Thank you for this awesome tutorial! Growing them for the first time this year & I'm so excited! 🌿💟🌼
I'm a new youtuber & I learned so much from this video 🙌
You can do it!
very well explained..Thank u
Thanks! Appreciate the feedback 💛
Thanks for making a video that shows the entire process of growing ranunculus. This was beautiful. 💚
You are so welcome Heather! Thank you for your encouragement.
Beautiful flowers video 😍😍
Thank you! 😃
thank you for information all about Ranunculus
You're very welcome!
Growing ranunculus for the 1st time this year. This was helpful! They look like strawberries!
Wonderful! Glad it was helpful!
I have been so impressed with this particular plant spices that I have been looking at every bit of information there is.
Since I live in Goa/India we dont really have a winter season as such but temperatures are mild as compared to months from April to June when we have 33/35°C after that is the wet season until mid September so I am assuming it would be best to grow them in November
I will reach out to you as my most reliable source and look forward to your help.
Thank you
Tony
Sounds like a plan. I am guessing they'll die back when the heat hits but you will definitely have a longer season with them than I do here in Ohio.
So nice flower.
Thank you for video!

@@NickandJulie welcome☺
I plant today for the first time renunculos
I hope I can have beautiful flowers like yours
You can do it!
I am also plant two weeks ago please pray for me.
Good information
Thanks, I am glad it was helpful!
Hi, Super cool idea Using the tray at starting, May I know Which soil you used for sprouting.
Please tell the soil mixture with quantity
I will assume ranunculus want to live so I will put mine in the ground without pre-soaking.
If they can't live in nature they're not worth bothering with.
Sounds like a plan! I think it might work with the spring rains.
I'm in Zone 5b. Had a baby in March so was a little distracted. I'm going to try a few of my corms outside and save the rest for next year. I feel like it's a hair late to be starting them now, but we'll see what happens. When did you plant your sprouted tubers outside? End of March?
I'm zone 5b & I just planted mine outside today!
It's worth a try! I don't recall which part of March it was that I planted them in the ground.
Mine just have a few leaves for a few weeks, outer leaves die off and new one comes and so on. Could it be less watering or lack of fertilizer? Always wanna avoid overfertilising, so don't know how much they need.
My tubers have started to sprout after a few weeks, should i plant them in the sun or in some shaded area?
I planted them in the sun. In my area in zone 6, now would be perfect time to plant as its still not hot, and there are rainy days. I always plant all my transplants before a rain. I don't have to water and most of the times the plants doesn't even wilt.
I just bought a bag from Costco. Is it too late to start growing? I am in zone 9 Houston. First time trying out…
It may be for zone 9. They prefer cooler temps to bloom. They slow down in the heat. Houston will probably get hot really fast soon?
What do you do after the plant dies back? Can you leave the tuber in the ground?
NaptimeNigella they are not frost hardy so you have to pull up. Each tuber will end up reproducing and giving you more tubers.
Yay for reproducing tubers 🙌 I love when plants give you free corms!
so you didn’t cover them, while pre sprouting? did you use any type of covering
I did cover them just to the top. Not much over the top. So you can see the little sprouts as they come up.
@@NickandJulie oh i meant w/ plastic or dome. i have mine covered with a dark sheet, i thought that’s what is required. your process seems a step or 2 less (& I like it) 👌
@@karenshook7863 oh sorry,
no, I did not cover the tray with anything during pre-sprouting. The more simple, the better😃
@@NickandJulie last question & I am so great full for you, coaching me Q: ok so i as well have mine downstairs in the dark, for 2 weeks @ 55-60 degree. Am i good, for good production?
@@karenshook7863 no problem! You should be fine. I didn’t bother with that and I got flowers. I’m sure you will too, probably even more since you did that.
Do you keep them outside or inside during sprouting?
I kept them inside.
How often do you water it after you put the seeds in the soil?
I water when the tray seems light when I pick it up. You don't want to be soggy either so they don't rot.
How about after it’s planted?
What type of soil did you start them in?
One video i watched said soak for 12 hours - you say 4 hours ! I will try them for 4 hours and then pot them up.
It’s pretty much so they become plump/rehydrate in the water.
They grow summer and winter
I am seeing little white mold on the soil
What should I do ?it’s just 3 days I planted them .will they be fine and sprout or rot .
is the soil extremely wet? they can still sprout, I would keep the top where the seeds are moist, maybe by misting them until they sprout.
Ok thank you, I think I have used garden soil in a no drainage pot , shall I change them to potting soil and into a pot with drainage.
How far apart did you plant the ranunculus when you transferred them? Thanks!
Probably about 8 inches apart. No problem!
Did you put the trays under grow light?
No, I did not 🙂
What zone do you live in? I tried in door planting and they sprout but due due to heat I feel.
Zone 6!
How long did it take to get your 1st bloom?
Maybe around 4 months?
What zone are you in?
This is in zone 6b, Ohio
No wonder
@@kimhouston1234 I have seen people in northern Florida grow some. I think they start the process in the fall? Just need to adjust the timing for your climate. They prefer cooler weather.
Can they grow in the tropics?
yes they can. I would definitely try!
Do you sell ranunculus bulbs
No, I do not sell anything at the moment.
Where are you located?
I am in Ohio :) zone 6b
@@NickandJulie since they didn't bloom until June, how long was your blooming season? I know they don't like heat, and I wonder if blooming in June would cut down on how many blooms you could pick. (I'm in zone 6b too and I know June can get hot).
Where are you from mam?
Ohio, United States
@@NickandJulie oh that's why it bloomed so well...perhaps in India it will not survive so well.
Which zone are you in? I am in zone 7. If we live in the same zone, I will copy what you do. BTW , do they come back each year? Will animals eat them? Thanks
This was filmed in zone 6b. Pretty similar as where you are. I remember some did come back on their own but it’s not a guarantee. They are deer resistant but I have not had any problems with animals since I’m in a fenced in yard in a subdivision. Hope this helps!
@@NickandJulie Thank you so much for your information. I will give it a try. Very excited . I just bought 2 packs of them from Home Depot, will plant them next year!
@@liligibson8457 no problem! have fun growing! 🌸
