Buying any airplane is the cheap part. Owning them is the expensive part. Plan on a minimum yearly operating expense of between $400,000 to $1 million for any of the airplanes you showed here depending on the number of hours flown. Plan too on replacing or overhauling the run out engines on these at a cost of between $750,000 and $1,400,000 within the first two years of ownership. Also, for the jets you show here, plan on a lower than 50% availability due to maintenance issues, especially waiting for hard to find parts.
A few other options: Vintage military has always been an option for the jet pilot on a budget. I've managed to find a Fouga Magister, an L-29, and a BAC Strikemaster for well under $250k. You could also build a SubSonex for that price. The single seat version has been around for a few years now, and they're developing a 2 seat model using the same engine. That's a tiny thing, about 260 lb of thrust, so fuel burn should be nice and low. This one's just an idea, and I'm not sure it would work, but how about putting a jet engine in a Velocity XL? If a rocket engine fits (see Rocket Racing League), why not? The others I listed can't really fill the same role as the planes in the video, but this one has a big enough cabin that it just might. Think of it as a cheaper, better looking alternative to the Cirrus SF50.
You don't need millions of dollars up front. Just some time during the first year :) We need new cleaner designs. Servicing old complex junk is very costly.
Any jet on this video for under a quarter mil will be a total POS. Buyer beware. I think you meant precursor and not predecessor for the Citations. And the "T" in Dassault is silent.
Utter madness, you could not give me one of these flying fossils. All garbage in the present day. They were great 40 years ago but please recycle this aluminium and make beer cans
I believe these older jets will be very costly to maintain. And getting parts may be difficult. The 😂🇨🇦

Don't be a buzz kill 😂
My thoughts exactly lol fly these for 200 hours after buying them 250k and you'll realize buying it was the cheap part

On what PLANET is a quarter million dollars “cheaper than a car”
Are parachutes extra charge or does the owner throw them in for free?
😂😂😂
Ça envoie !

I'd rather have a fast piston or a turbo prop with effective reverse.
Would give me the 2000 feet take off and landing capabilities.
Three words: Insurance, insurance, insurance. Good luck!
“Cheaper than a car”
$250,000
Lol

Acquisition cost is nothing. Factor in operating cost and mx you’ll be broke in no time!
Oh my gosh, now I want a Jet!

I know at least 3 70s and 80s citations still flying like a charm today
I believe Mojogrip was sincere, if your budget is 250k these are the options available but target well maintained ones.
