Great job guys. I have one little tip for anyone new to this guard because SLX is one of my strongest positions and a huge part of my personal game. Whrn Stephen is talking about having to hold his arms out, he is referring to feeling his opponent's weight. When you correctly apply the SLX you have to lift your hips up off the mat and allow your opponent to bear your weight. I didn't learn this until I was at a Marcelo Garcia academy and one of the instructors showed me this detail. Hope this was useful everyone. Also thanks again Stephen for always providing good quality content 😀👍
Hey mate, do you have any tips for this in the gi? I'm pretty trash at single legx but when they just get a good grip on my lapel and pull me towards them and lean down I can never seem to sweep.. usually just bail and switch to regular x guard asap.. What do

i like the closed circuit analogy better. makes it easy to visualize
Kesting is truly an amazing teacher and human being. Even being a high level BB- he continues to learn and explore new things. Amazing
great video! these are great details as the opponent should never feel like they can settle in your guard
Thanks guys. Just starting to really explore this position. Good starting point
Great concepts, applies to any open guard, really. A person in top position should never feel comfortable and settled in your open guard.
What a terrific video
