I don't think JJ and Reddick are considered interchangeable within the Jets' defensive schemes. Reddick plays the same side as Will McDonald in that regard. The dynamics around LDE and RDE (and OLB) alignments are a little too complicated for me to bother with entirely!

I’ve previously heard Reddick is making $14 million this year. But more recently I’ve heard the $14 million figure is just the allocation of his signing bonus and he’s really only getting paid $750 k this year.
Is that true? If so, JD needs to swallow his pride and make a deal immediately to get him on here.

You heard wrong, Our cap hit right now from him is 750k because he hasn't showed up. If he shows up his cap hit will be prorated from his 14.25M less fines. Had he showed up he had a 14.25M base, 500k likely attainable incentive and a 250k workout bonus which he missed. His signing bonus stayed with the Eagles leaving no guaranteed money for us.
