I sold my 2018 with 26,000 when I started to notice some vibrations. The cadillac dealers told me it was nothing. I decided it was too stressful and reading all the issues and watching all the videos showing all the Escalade issues I just took the loss and moved on. It's a real shame because it's a beautiful truck. Every now and then I think I want another one and then I come across a video like this one and I reinforces the fact that GM can't be trusted. I want a reliable vehicle if it's gorgeous that's icing on the cake, but the Cadillac Escalade is not reliable. Check out how many are always available for sale even with low mileage, that should give you the answer. If they are so great why are people dumping them under 30,000 miles? Lifter failures and transmission issues are common amongst other things. Lack of response from GM and Cadillac dealers are another huge issue.

@@michaelwalker8870I’m in the same boat as you buddy. One of my 2017s has a knock issue in the first few shifts of the day between the 1st and 2nd gears. On forums, it says the recommend fix is adding Lubegard Platinum and Shudderfix but I doubt that’ll solve the root problem. As for the navigators, well they look like Honda Odysseys from the back. Your best bet from the 4th gen Escalade are the 2018-2020 models. The 5th gen (2021+) look ugly in my opinion.

It takes somewhere around a month for the lubegard to take full effect. Read on forums to check the exact process. I also believe another way of fixing the issue is to go to GM and get them to change the ATF, as they changed it in 2019: this solved the problem for a lot of people.

torque converter from 2015 to the middle of 2018 8 speed trans have a problem. This is the reason of vibration when driving at a certain speed.
As for that kick when you stop..
Transmission oil must change every 50k mile.
As for me they change the torque converter with a modified one from the factory free of defects.

My 16' Escalade started with the shudder last September at about a 100,000 miles, a friend of mine who works at a Chevy dealership did the triple flush which instantly fixed the shudder but there was some slippage between 3rd and 5th, which he said it would take a little while for the new fluid to work through the tranny. After about a month 90% of the slippage was gone, after a couple months I didn't notice any slippage at all until this spring, which started almost immediately after having him change the fuel injectors and the slippage was worse than ever. Took it to a transmission shop who said they didn't feel any issues when they drove it (which I could believe because its non stop) but did another flush and said it was all set, which it isn't, it's worse than ever. Don't know if its just sheer coincidence that it started acting up again right after the injector change or if it could somehow have something to do with it, which I can't fathom how it could but it's awful funny after being good for 6 months it started slipping again right after.

How long have you had it? I bought my 2015 Yukon XL Denali about a month ago and after a few days it started hard shifting. It's really bad the first few times after driving it without warming it up, although warming it up seems to help a bit. I ended up having a mechanic change out the transmission fluid to the new fluid they recommend by Mobile 1 hoping it would help and it doesn't. When I took it to another shop that deals with only transmissions, he thought it was going to be really bad but when he tested it with his meter, it turns out it's because of a bad transmission fluid temperature sensor. I am honestly going to try to install it myself because the transmission shop wants 900 freakin' dollars. For half that I'm getting the part, a new torque wrench, 2 6-pack cases of fluid, two fluid pumps, 4 heavy-duty jack stacks so I can get it up higher and also level it to get the proper fluid level in the transmission, as well as the wire harness and sensor replacement. Yeah, I'm going to be doing it myself and nervous to do this kind of repair as I've never done it before, but it looks pretty straight forward, and all I have to do is drop the oil pan for the transmission. But so far that seems to be the cause for the hard shifting, so if you have an OBD scanner, or can take it to a shop and have them scan it, they will be able to tell you what the issue is. I hate that I still have to drive the damn thing a few more times before I get all the parts, though.

I have a 2015 Escalade with 115K miles and the transmission just stopped working, broke down on the highway. A few years back, I brought it to the dealer with a 'shuttering' or 'shaking' when it was under warranty. The dealer said they changed transmission fluid and that would fix it, when they did that, the transmission took a few seconds to go into "drive" when starting the truck. So, i ended bringing it back. They adjusted the transmission and said everything is good. But, i realized that it was just a bandaide, the truck never drove properly, the transmission would not shift properly and always seemed off. Now, i'm stuck with a bad tranny looking for a shop to replace it... GM\Cadillac repair shops will charge way too much to fix it. I don't think I would buy another one.

I just purchased a 2015 with only 50k miles and I get the kick when coming to a stop and then taking off in 1st. It also clunks (without going into a neutral for a brief moment like when coming and going from a stop) when the car shifts on its own going down hill with no gas. Now I can't tell if its mental, but I always feel like the car is struggling to shift. Its almost like the car can't decide which gear to go into. I just bought the car and have no evidence if the 50k flush was done! Any insights? Great video BTW.

I have a 2015 Escalade and found it’s a known fact the Torque Converters go. I was told you can’t replace the Torque Converter without tearing the entire Transmission apart… Ultimately having to put a new or rebuilt Transmission in it. Check Engine Light goes on. Throws code. Have flushed Transmission Fluid multiple times. Real headache. My display screen does the same and the Compressor on the AC goes, too!! I’ve had three Escalades. Want a newer one, but am hearing all kinds of bad news about the Motors being junk! Shame because it looks so nice and is the vehicle I have loved having the most.
