My friend, your feel and shapes are a melodic dream. You have not wasted your time on your choice to pick up the guitar. You are as good and also better than alot of players I hear that have made it to the socalled big time. Exceptional player and a Godly person. Thank you for sharing with us my friend.
I got mine in 2019, my first classic vibe 60s the 3tone SB. It came second hand very lightly reliced headstock. Had mitey mite cloth wired ceramics. Sss. I actually love them and might replace back. Someone who had it before me knee something I didn't. They used 500k pots too. It's crazy. Anyway I wound up last year dropping brand new loaded player series pickguard in. Man. What a nice set. But now out of fun , I may put that set in my MIM black fsr gilmour vibe. And put the miteys back in the 60s CV. Anyway awesome man!!! Yeah mine is a 2015 so I have the Alder and rosewood. These are amazing. China ...go figure. They have their stuff together. However I had a LPB 60s I bought which was a 2020 for about 6 months. It was every bit as good. Once I put 10s on it it came to life. I like the tuners more on the newer ones. They have a better ratio. But both still the old vintage kluson style. Anyway .....cool man!!!! I have a Harley Benton Fusion T HH FNT I absolutely love , but I'm more of a strat guy so I'm thinking about running an ad to swap it for a nice super strat or classic Vibe 50s.
Nice sounds even with the original PUs, I think I probably like them better. Have 3 Squier CV Strats now in my collection (also a beautiful CAR like yours) and never thought of changing the PUs. I´d rather go for some more solid pots or selector switches, but the Pus are alright. I know guys who change PUs every month and keep complaining "I haven´t found my sound yet". And they never will, because they haven´t got it in their fingers. You have got it in your fingers and therefore it´s just the question with which you feel more comfortable.
Maybe it was the amp, but I thought both sets of pickups sounded dark and muddled except at the very end at 18:00 when the sounds were very clean. I think I would have to save my money for an American Strat.
I agree. In hindsight I should used a different sound in the beginning clips. But the new pickups have a lot of depth as I’m discovering. I may do a full review/demo on them.
I'm all for noiseless singles. With the right amount of tweaking in your rig they will sound exactly like classic singles and there is NOBODY on this earth who would notice the difference. Corksniffers around the world would swear they're not stacked
Original pickups are better, all you need was to swap out with ctk 250k volume pots. I own two of them and i love them over my fender player series. Great demo my friend, keep it up.
Hi Clint! I'm glad you made this video. Great playing! I have vintage noiseless pickups in my Mexican strat, and also have Line6 helix, but i can't get sound like yours at the end of video 18:00. That 'straty' sound. Can you please tell something about that patch, what amp of helix is that, stock cab or IR, some compressor,...etc. ?
I think I like the original ones better xD I also keep my 50s classic vibe made in china with the original pickups, exept for the bridge which I changed for a humbucker in single coil format, but I'm constantly thinking about changing it back to the original one
Clint, great video. I've got a Classic Vibe in Sunburst and the one of the tone knobs just fell apart on me internally. I think it's a perfect time for an upgrade. Any suggestions on a full electronics overhaul?
Just bought mine at $343 CDN on Amazon USA for a new 60’s Classic Vibe Squier (Brownie). They are the same as the Clapton Blackie Strat which I also own, so it was an easy choice. How did you remove the Squier logo and imprint the Fender logo?
I would have preferred the white to match the pick guard but I only found the tan covers, which I’ve seen on a few Strats and I think they will be ok with the brownie tobacco 2 tone burst of the 60’s CV.
@@ClintCurtis Thanks, Clint! I have a luthier and amazing wood craftsman a few streets over in Brockville, ON. I will have it done. I ordered the CV online at the Long & McQuade web store (Fender August Month-no Interest) and I got lucky as it has a nicer finish and burst than what I saw at the L&M stores in Ottawa. I definitely want the Fender logo vibe. All the very best to you!
Clint at around 6:05 min. into this video it appears that you activate a boost pedal of some kind. Please explain just what takes place at 6:05 min. in. Thanks, all of your videos are excellent. I have a 2001 made in Indonesia Squire Strat that I am doing mod with a Ibanez Elite Humbucker in the bridge. Leaving the other original stock single coils. Will try out and decide whether to switch them out or not. Going to shield the cavity and pickguard with copper. I was also surprised that the stock pots in this guitar were all 500k.
Great demo Clint. I like the VN pickups too. A lot of people bash them but I’ve had absolutely no problem with them and get great tone from them. I’ve had the tone control wired to my bridge pickup and it helps a lot too. One thing is that they are quiet and that’s so important when recording for me.
Outstanding guitar for the price. I´ve upgraded mine with a tremolo with full size steel block and new pots and wiring. Original pickups is good, maybe a bit thin and hollow sounding (but some prefer that kind of strat tone so it´s not "bad"). I´ve upgraded the pickups to Van Zandt blues which has more body and midrange and that made the Squier sound better than my Fender Custom shop strat.
what trem and block did you swap to? Mine has pretty bad fitting saddles and I want to replace the whole thing.. I agree about the thin sounding pus too. I put tex mex in my other CV and they sound great
"vintage noiseless" is just what they call their first attempt/first generation of noiseless pickups. It might not surprise you to hear that these are not their best version. I have many versions of their noiseless pickups including the "vintage noiseless" and...they're not...very...good. Beware of putting them with potentiometers that are too high. They often ship with ones that are too high and they lose all body. The original design and implementation was for 500/250/250. 1K is way to high, too thin and bright.

You have some of the best bends and vibrato I’ve heard to date!

How did you change the fender logo on the headstock?
Had my classic vibe tele for 4 years now its and it plays and sounds better than my mexican strat.
I find that the classic vibe series feel much better than any of the Mexican or even some of the American ones
did you make any upgrades or is it completely stock?
@@BigBobbyBoLo stock straight of the shelf

Very cool sound

Definitely the amp. All I heard was mud and cone noise.
Nice overdrive demo
Nice tone! Are you using 250k or 500k pots?
Awesome sound buddy squire really do have some nice guitars Jeff Healey was proof of that
Dude, you're really f'ing good.

Great job ! I would like to ask zou what gear do you use here ? Thanks and cheers !
I think the stock PUPs are fine. Biggest bugbear is the narrow spacing on the bridge. Why oh why?
Original pickups are better, all you need was to swap out with ctk 250k volume pots. I own two of them and i love them over my fender player series. Great demo my friend, keep it up.
Just curious, what would this do over the standard pots? And VS. different pickups?
Hey i was just scrolling through the comments and found yours.
Can you tell me what exactly the modification you mentioned do to the guitar?
@@mr.blurryface1348 I just swapped the factory pots to full size ctk pots. Huge change to the sound.
Did you upgrade saddles or tremolo block. Good sound. I wish you would upgraded the electronics on the stock set and then did the comparison.

I can't remember which one it is at the moment, but I use IR's, and it would be one of the fender amps.
I think I like the original ones better xD I also keep my 50s classic vibe made in china with the original pickups, exept for the bridge which I changed for a humbucker in single coil format, but I'm constantly thinking about changing it back to the original one
I like the sound. Did you use the pots
and caps that came with the pickups or the ones that where in The guitar?
Yes I installed the pots that came with it.

I bought a water slide Decal on EBay. I sanded the squier logo off and refinished the headstock with several coated of laquer.

Could you share your Helix preset please? It sounds great!
I guess I'm the only one curious as to how you removed the headstock logo?
I was going to ask the same question
You wanted vintage noiseless for vintage sound but they have a modern sound and you have an American Strat for classic tones??
dude it will be good to have a coclusion section where you give your opinion
Clint you could play a brushshaft and make it sound amazing. 🎸😀
Your strat had awesome Tonerider pickups (Surfary, I think) in stock so if I were in your shoes I wouldnt change them.
4:31 old
11:00 new
Sounds to me like 250k potentiometers are too dark, so I'll try using 500k when I install mine
haha how do you change the logo

can you play with high gain and still have no hum?
How did you swap the headstock logo so nicely??
I used a waterslide decal from eBay. I had to sand the headstock to remove the Squier logo first, and then refinish it.

No mods needed!

Great guitar , but vibe made in Indonesia is much better than china vibe
Sorry. Original pick ups sounded better. This is not opinion, it is a fact. Just kidding they both sound great different sounds enjoy.
Sorry dude, those pickups don't suit the strat, in my opinion.. They have turned it into a les paul stratocaster.
The others sounded better. 👍
You might be right. The noiseless ones are different, not better.
The original pups definitely sound better: more "Strat-y" & with a wider tone. The new ones just sound 80s-generic & bland in comparison.
