    Hey Jurijs, great video! We had a similar issue in the past with a dentist installation, too. Tried everything, and none of the solutions really worked. The bacterial bloom was insane and quickly clogged the filters and skimmers between the maintenance sessions. We even created a larger DIY skimmer just for this purpose. I spent some time digging through the internet back then and read a case where they changed the disinfectant to something else non-alcohol-based). I'm unsure if this is possible and may need more study. But the display tank we had was covered with panels, used vents to keep out the air pollution issue and even in that case, we had serious problems with it. - Viktor

      Cheers Viktor, that’s what I found out too. I have another dentist tank, luckily the other one is build into the wall, is fully covered and has lids inside. But even this one suffers from rapid biofilm buildup inside the filter. Cleaning the Biomaster prefilter and biweekly, sometimes weekly intervals.

    Hi Jurijs, 2 options:
    1. just give them spray bottle with peroxide and tell them to spray few times on the surface during the day or when they sanitize everything else 🙂
    2. add peroxide to the automatic air refresher dispanser instead of parfume and mount somehow on that dry chamber 🙃

I know you have a little bit of experience with sump’s and in the marine side of the hobby this would be considered relatively low tech.

    add surface skimmer or a lid

  • @ChristosChristos
    @ChristosChristos Месяц назад

    Another suggestion. Stop using canister filter or any filter at all and you won’t have anything to clean. The aquarium has a lot of surfaces right now anyway with all the plants, leaves, soil, stones, glass, everything is full of beneficial bacteria. Also your plant choices don’t produce many leaf debris so they won’t disintegrate inside your aquarium to produce nitrates that fast. Just use wave makers, one for surface agitation on the right looking upwards to break the oil layer, and one for the water column to circulate water looking downwards on the left. Or, you can buy those smaller inner filters and place them on that black column so you just clean those easier and faster. Also rebalance your dosages and your livestock to a minimum if that helps with the new “setup”. After 25 years of having aquariums and having tried all aquascape styles I realized that you can reach the same results by just not using canister filters on a well established aquarium but have water movement 24/7 by small well hidden wave makers or smaller inner filters.
