Yeah.... I wish I knew. Your inquiry made me search again, but with no luck. Maybe it's a lion, maybe it's a griffin. If I do find out, I will definitely post an update.

@@janisporietis I believe it has something to do with the coat of arms of Finland. The image of this beast with a sword is pretty the same.
