Congratulations on 500, John! Hard to believe it's been that many. What a milestone. I've enjoyed every one of them. You are, by far, my favorite metalworking channel. Nobody 'pisses about' better than you. Looking forward to 500 more. Thanks for all you do.

Congratulations John on 500 x2 nightcaps. That was a brilliant Q and A. And yes I am the person that went into Browns in Edinburgh with my son and realised it was being run by Emmy. I must have been watching you now getting on for a decade. You are an inspiration.

500x2 is a great body of work plus the specials and its an awesome effort. Condolences to Debs on the loss of her mum. They all go eventually but our love for them never changes. Tonight was a lovely nightcap. Emmy as quizmaster getting us the answers was great. Occasional visits from her and always a treat to see her. Ive been messing about in my workshop for years but youve taught me plenty. Best wishes for the next 500 from Norfolk.

Congrats on the 500th SNNC! Em is a gem and could work public relations at any level. Keith Fenner was one of my first RUclips creators to watch, after Mr. Pete. Mr. Pete sent me to Keith. If you do merch again I'll order another T-shirt; lost the last one on a camping trip. I do cherish my "bell-end" collet spanner. Best to you and yours.

My dad was a precision engineer for 25 years, he made loads of parts for 1960s and 70s British made jet engines used on military aircraft, he then became a specialist grinder manufacturing gears to very fine tolerances.
My mum hated him coming in covering the house even though he always changed at work. It was always in his shoes and she used to go mad!
After 25 years he left the trade and the swarf was no more!

Great vlog John, nice too to get to know you a bit more. It was a pleasure to meet you in person at the Harrogate Enginering show despite snow outside! We didn’t do too bad coming from South Yorkshire and North East (must look up on a map to see where that is!) Some great memories shared too makes us remember our own kin that are no longer with us. Cheers and thanks for sharing. Stay well you two.

Thank you, John (and Emmy). I've enjoyed all your videos from the past, but this is probably my new favorite.
It's interesting to watch you machining and working in your shop, but it's very interesting to hear your "history" and witness some of your personality.
It would be interesting to sit at a pub and visit with you.
Again, thank you from the USA.

I think we are of a similar age John. I used my first lathe, milling machine and shaper at school, when I went to secondary school at 11 or 12. Kids just don't have those opportunities any more, mores the pity.
I'm starting to retire and although I've had an old Triumph lathe for over 30 years, I'm only now putting together a decent workshop. Have enjoyed watching your videos for a couple of years now since I found the RUclips world of machining and Keith Fenners channel along with Abom79 carried me to you. Then of course there is "Stefan".
Keep up the excellent work as long as you can; both of you.
