I've also read that the original line at the end was This is not my suitcase, but it felt it kind of crossed the line so it was changed to This is not my sandwich.
It’s great satire. Some people are so overly sensitive that they would find this offensive, missing the entire point that the only person who is made to look stupid in this sketch is the translator, not the people sitting there
This happens to me alot. "Oh you are swedish? like the chef? Hurty burty borty..." So who ever say this is Racist should take a new look at Sesame Street. Because they have made this joke since forever :) Us in Sweden haven't watched the Swedish chef as kids(or a all). We only know of him through memes and people imitating him(us?).
Enjoyed this. The sketch she does where she sings titanic song to the groom at the wedding is pretty good too, and also the 'rrd nose day' sketch where David Tennant is the new English teacher and Catherine Tate is one of the students 😊
Wondering what English would sound like if this sketch was made in another country? Check out the song Prisencolinensinainciusol by Italian comedian Adriano Celentano. It is written in the style of an American pop song, but the lyrics are gibberish, just 'English sounds'.
Soz been watching Love Thy Neighbour without you! Love your reactions! Good energy, your currency(spend/protect your energy, your currency)always lifts me up. Thank you 😂❤️🙏NO More COMEDIANS Being CANCELLED. It's gone too far...when I was growing up we had real uncensored comedy. You cannot wrap people in cotton wool,so they never get offended, because when you get out into the real world they're going to get a shock! Hugs and love to you and all. Remember people laughter is so important. If you're struggling reach out even on here. We live in strange times. Love, Godbless 💚☘️
And TEFL of course which is Teaching English as a Foreign Languages which is all about teaching English to foreigners without having to know anything at all about the foreign languages they speak yourself. She said she'd done the TEFL in her gap year.
I just don't find her funny. At all. This is the guy who sent you the Love Thy Neighbour playlist, so you know I have no issue with the joke per se. I just think she doesn't execute them all that well, and people I have observed just laugh for the sake of it.
It's not her making fun of the people's language or accents. It's more to demonstrate how people perceive the language of other races. She highlights how ignorant some people can be with other people's language. Nothing offensive here.
I don't understand the people commenting on your post. You simply stated that you didn't find the joke particularly funny, and their responses are to mention that the joke is not offensive (you never said it was) and to talk about the subjective nature of humour (no s**t Sherlock). They really shouldn't have bothered.
Apparently this took a long time to record as the Chinese lady and the African man could not stop laughing.
I've also read that the original line at the end was This is not my suitcase, but it felt it kind of crossed the line so it was changed to This is not my sandwich.
@@valclark2249 - From the movie "Coming to America" with Eddie Murphy.
@@valclark2249was actually because during break he was given the wrong sandwich, as to which she added it into the recording, it was never suitcase.

The look of pride that she has after each translation and at the end is priceless.
Guys no ones safe. Embrace the comedy of all our languages and accents. This was funny
A great pity that the German CEO wasn't present at this meeting.
that would have gotten some Austrian born leader vibes definitely XD
The African man put 2 hours on the shoot as he couldn't stop laughing
What a wonderful time when we could just laugh at something funny without having to weigh up all the P. C . stuff
Bro,knock it off my list, Catherine tate Offensive Interpreter. I've just seen it ,2 years old from your archives..
All those people of different nationalities were good Sports and really up for making this short video. Fair play to them.
Good Reaction Jay.
The Chinese Woman laughed so much that it took 13 takes and The African Guy broke character at the end:)
love you have a great sense of humour , there is not enough in this world , catch catherine tate doing anger management , blessings x
I saw a similar theatre show in Italy once, seeing Italians speaking with Broad Cockney and German accents was very weird. Funny though
Bloody racist Waps!!!

Haha class Jay! Any more Still Game happening soon? Miss seeing your reactions to it.
Jay is a handsome man. WOOF!

When the Romans ruled Europe anyone outside of Rome was called a Barbarian because the Romans thought their language sounded like "Ba ba ba ba".
Great reaction

So glad you took in good humour how would they do an English person if the role was one of them doing it that sketch 😮
hot gossamer - benny hill
Hey, have you watched any League of Gentleman? Very dark comedy from the North of England. I'd love to see your take!

@@kevdenn Dude I know how it works and never suggested for a moment it was offensive, that was just you. Just don't find her funny is all.
@@PaulEcosse Just because you don't find her funny that doesn't mean others don't, that's why people have different sense of humour.
@@TheRealist2024 Correct.
