Nivlac57 makes and sells coil adapters that allow 06 & later coils to fit on an 05 and earlier 4200. It is said the 06 & later coils have same internals as LS coils.
big fan of the 4200 v ive had 5 trb still have the 02 i bought new 22 yrs ago ,nothing but standard maintainance and a water pump in 160k it shoud really cook the tires on the square
It’s funny , I almost have an identical swap . 89 c1500 , 4200 turbo with a manual using Microsquirt . In final stages now . Keep up the good work ! Wish I could weld aluminum I just used the stock intake .
So i'm glad im came across your channel, i'm in the process of getting my hands on one of the LL8's, with the hopes of one day putting it in a Foxboy LX or Lincoln LS All i need to learn is welding, wiring, and everything else mechanical.
The Atlas engine is a legendary engine that is so overlooked. It's easier to make big power with that I6 than it is with v8. It's basically an American 2JZ.
I been preaching the gospel of the atlas since they were new I actually have a VHS for gm techs introducing the engine and how the block was made it's a different way instead of sand molds I think they said they used Styrofoam to mold the block but all in all gm should of used the engine for more applications
Well,I want to make my main trailblazer with the 4200 turbo'd. I am also playing with the idea to drop a 4200 into my 1971 oldsmobile cutlass s. I subbed to follow the turbo setup on the 4200. Are planning to have the VVT functioning ?
I know this water under the bridge. Did you think about a spacer cut at an angle between the flange and the turbo and then weld the waste gate in the spacer? Could make it out of square channel steel. Just a thought. If you have room.
Aww man, i wanma hear what that sounds like! Dream engine swap would be a Cummins converted to gas power, and made into an NA ITB setup. Put that in a Viper :)
Looked like your doing a good enough job to me, I cant wait till I get my 4200 project on the move again. Hopefully Ill get onto it this week!! Do you have any more updates on this build?
A dream build would be a new hummer with 5 motors and all wheel steering and crab walk and screech out rear seating to a mega cab and long wheel base bed to put all that power under and to ground and more room for more battery packs and setup for a fifth wheel big 3 to 4 axle camper build and air lifted to go big wheels and tires and and if build a 2nd would be with a big c13 or c15 tuned and built and turned up burning weed oil
Id like to swapan atlas into a '53/'54 pontiac or chevy but have no idea how to make it run standalone. There are hundreds of videos on ls swaps but not many on atlas swaps.
I wish i got or found you to do my trailblazer motor had motor and a great trailblazer but had house fire moved motor from my garage to a guys house and his wife and him later was tripping and my apts towed away my tb even though it ran and drove and was clean and driven every week to wash and gas and to store but motor was not best but oil sending unit was changed out from AutoZone but was no good and wife drove it a week 😢 with no oil sending unit working and bearing on main was going bad and now sounding almost like a Cummins or something but not to bad so i had got a suv that a tornado dropped a tree on and had low miles now wish i cut top.off and drove it 😂but still got a 4x4 tb with sunroof as a car but that title was burn in my house so maybe loosing that one too lost all i own this year including my wifes new suv and mu health from this was a car hit from 70 in my rearend in a 35 zone

I’m thinking of swapping one of these into a 97 Tahoe to replace the 350 vortec, what did you do for motor mounts?
@@gwood90made mounts that bolt to the oem clamshell rubber mounts on the frame
Sounds like a good solution. I’ll have to try to mock that up sometime, thanks
Hey man are you got to show another video on the 4200
Would love to drop one of these in my '77 El Camino.
Woot! Looks good! Glad to see you are getting good use out of the wiki! Love seeing that!
Glad you're still with this swap!

This is a cool swap
I have been waiting a long time for a followup video!
Im following this hard loving it!

Love all the info. Thinking of doing the same thing. What vehicle you got the 4.2 out of and will the tranny that came with the 4.2 fit the s10.

Is there a reason you are running a twin scroll turbine housing but not a twin scroll exhaust manifold?
I’d like to put one in my grand national.

I have a plan for putting one in a Vega and making it AWD
3rd gen camaro would be cool to have one of these 4200 engines. just unsure of fitment, could prolly make it work with a dry sump pan tho.

There is a new cast exhaust manifold available that will fit and work better.

international scout 2 with atlas 4200 boosted
Каким компьютером управляется двигатель?
I'd put this in a half ton square with an NV3500 for putting around town.
Did you ever finish this project out?
Don’t worry about the head gasket. Nivlac57 just ran his up to 43.3 pounds of boost without a single issue.
