Thanks a lot for your substantial video, Brian. I have one question, if u don't mind. I have tried stitching 360 panorama from DJI Mavic Mini images. Sometimes it went fine in Hugin and sometimes not. But Microsoft ICE managed to make perfect every time practically. So why anyone should use Hugin with a lot of functionalite I cant deny if there is much easier wat to do 360 panorama?
There is tutorial how to stitch scanned images that worked for me with 2 photos in cylindrical projection, but not with 4 and more photos. Wanted to make texture for blender. I have painted wall with nice micro texture. I mark with pencil a rectangle blocks on wall using A4 paper, do a tiny spot in the A4 paper corners on wall, then move the paper right, few rows like that (it's like 2x2 or 4x4 table on wall). I handheld the camera and take the photos that all have 4 pencil dots in corners for hugin control points. Do i need more control points to successfully stitch?
Hello, I am attempting to learn how to do a 360 virtual tour. I have a Canon 6d, Samsung 14mm lens and a Gimbal head. I have made sure to overlap each image(front, up & down)in a complete, measured, focused 360 fashion. My next step is to upload & stitch them together in order to make a 360 virtual tour. Is it possible to use the Hugin to do this? Any advise or tips will be greatly appreciated. Thank You 😊
Yes, Hugin can create excellent quality 360 panoramas. If you are also asking if it can make virtual tours, then, no it doesn't do that part of it. You would need to find an additional piece of software that would allow you to create clickable areas within your panoramas that you have created in Hugin.
I'm not familiar with the output of the mavic pro, but if it's taking extremely wide angle pictures I can tell you that in the past I've had a lot of difficulty stitching pictures of that sort without having a lot of overlap between adjoining images. There is a setting for the automatic point finder that will tell it to look at a greater amount of rotation between images which I haven't tried. That would most likely help because towards the top of wide angle pictures the tops of the image are extremely rotated in opposite directions. It's because if this problem that I stopped taking panoramic images with a dish eye lens and switched to an architectural lens that doesn't have the rotation problem so much.

Thanks!!! I see I haven't been using Hugin to it's full potential & thanks for the tips. Can you direct me to some raw rawtherapee videos?
