Seeing Bigger Picture is Key for Caleb Williams | NFL Week 3 Review | Kurt Warner Game Tape Study

  • After my second viewing, he performed better than I initially thought. While there are areas he needs to grow in, there are also things to appreciate about his game. One of the biggest improvements is his ability to know where his eyes need to be. He's gotten much better at this. The goal for Caleb Williams is to see the bigger picture-getting his eyes in the right spot because when they are, he makes a lot of plays. There has been noticeable progress from week one to week two, and we’ve seen some good moments along the way. Now it’s about building consistency. #calebwilliams #chicagobears #nfl

    CW is making all the calls checks etc at the line. He is doing pretty well considering. Chicago isn't doing the rookie development stuff he is in the water learning to swim.
    Hopefully, he doesn't just sink.

    Weird how Kurt Warner can't even realize the miscommunication on that first pass to DJ. He didn't miss the throw by 5 yards. Caleb thought he was coming back. DJ ran a go. Not that hard to figure out. DJ confirmed this, which should have been obvious by watching.

      a lot of these people over criticizing Caleb (3 games into his rookie year), comparing him to 3+ year vet (Justin Field) etc are people following narratives that they see from trolls of social media. is really disheartening that this is the type of reporting that exist in sports now ah days. even more so when it comes from fellow NFL vets - who should know how it is transitioning from college to the NFL. people are more so interested in fishing for engagements for their podcast, vs saying whats REAL

    It's seems like a lot of the things he had an issue with are basic things that he would already have learned in college. I wonder if his mind is just overwhelmed with everything at the moment, and he's almost kind of rushing everything in his head and he really has more time then he thinks he has. I feel like once he settles in, he's gonna take off.

    He’s looking left so much to see how Jones is handling his assignment. He’s given up so much pressure each week, you can tell Caleb is lacking some trust on his blind side. Bears should switch Wright to left side, he’s stronger & projects higher than Jones.

  • @tricker37
    @tricker37 2 дня назад

    This is as expected honestly, Caleb lived on making out-of-structure plays in college and now has to learn to beat teams with his head more than his arm and improvising, which what he can do with his arm is amazing and he can get away with some throws because of it, but if learns to get his eyes to the correct side based on the coverage more, he can be elite for sure, he just needs to keep learning, I'm encouraged by what I've seen so far.

He’d have to be Brady or Rodgers to make that work even a little. IMO JF is making better decisions, maybe because he trusts his OL and he’s not asked to be the savior.
      Regarding CW, I got the sense from KW’s analysis that they’re asking CW to do a lot of pure progression.
