Hi Dan, nice to see you in a long movie 🙂! Great vid, and those boat (or bank) side strikes are THE reason for me for pike fishing. Catch in the Netherlands is still off, but I'm getting my blank savers 😁. Hopefully I'm getting my kayak set up, so I can get some spring fishing from the kayak (jonny boat bass 100).
Great video! Thank you for showing how you work the glider. One of my goals for 2022 is to get better with glides. What a fun day on the water you had, thanks for sharing.
Hi Dan,great to see u on the boat..you didnt have a fishfinder which is great cos I dont have on mine either😃..and you still caught loads which gives me hope.
It's 20 below zero here and I have just bored through 16 inches of ice, I stuck it out for one hour frozen solid and nothing to show for it. Great video as always though.
Hey I like your channel. Just got into fishing a year ago. And kinda made the mistake of getting a big stiff trolling rod and using it for casting. What rod is that? I like that it can be flicked around like that.
Thanks for the video! Really appreciate! I'm interested how heavy this jerk is and some of casts were so far. How far do you think this comodo reel throw such jerkbaits ?
I was just wondering if you were going to sell anymore skinny shads its a lure ive been wanting to try for a while. I absolutely love your videos they are amazing keep up the super work.
Do you always fish that lure at the surface or close to it? How heavy is that lure anyway if you don't mind me asking. I bought 4 of those lures from Aliexpress last year and they looked just like the one you got, but I doubt they are the same lure since the ones I got are kind of light and they don't cast far.
Just getting into lure fishing and can't make up my mind to go spinning or jerkbait fishing? Seems to me spinning is a straight retrieve and jerking abit more involved...? What are the main difference's...? Thanks....
DB, try "figure-eighting" when you have a pike follow to the side of the boat. Look it up---the pike and muskellenge fisherman in the States do it with about a 60% improved hook-up rate by the side of the boat.
Looking at getting a cheap bait caster set up to start with, before I buy a proper one. What sort of length rod should I be looking for, I'm going on a proper budget for it and spending about £60/70 first off. Any help greatly appreciated
Just curious are you able to fish with live bait? If you are able to, try floating a medium size minnow, like a sucker or a shiner on a quick-strike rig on a slip bobber.
@@pikeandperch I see. That's how we catch Muskies here. We float ten to fifteen inches or larger suckers on a quick strike on a floating bobber. While the sucker is trying to look for trouble, you cast.
The sound of the reel 😂 buy a ambassadeur 6501 beast SE. You never look at another reel again i promis you. The black one i have with a pike on, but of course 01 is for you wonky handed 😂
Why you not using a wire leader? Irresponsible not to use one and nothing to be gained by not using one, except a bite off. No lifejacket either. Good luck to you.
I'm a regular viewer, but I swear I just saw what I thought was a fluorocarbon leader? Just checked the description, this is a joke right? I've not noticed you use this before, why switch to FC? New pike anglers will be watching your videos for inspiration and advice, fluorocarbon will only lead to fish with lures/hooks stuck in their throat and eventual death, fluorocarbon is not bite proof. End of story. Steel or titanium wire will never snap and should be the only options to consider, you should be setting a good example of fish care to new and existing pike anglers. I will be unsubscribing as a result of this, which is a shame as your videos were amongst the ones I looked for over lockdown. But promoting poor practice like this will only damage our sport in the long run.
@@2605kieran Well I hate to disappoint you but your opinion is wrong. You might catch plenty of fish without issue on Fluorocarbon, but at some point you WILL get bitten off and it will be your fault when that fish perishes. Just use wire, there is zero reason to use FC. Edit: I want DB to reply to this and it better be good.
I am allowed an opinion. I would say DB knows enough about pike not to put them in danger. Go and fish your way away from this channel as you stated. Snap offs are inevitable even using a trace - my point is fishing isn't and never will be 100% 'safe'. You're concerned about bite offs but not concerned about setting trebles in a fish haha. See you
@@2605kieranyou're right. You are allowed an opinion. But that doesn't make FC tooth proof just because you "think" it's good enough. DB has just set a poor example that contradicts your expectation of him unfortunately. Wire snap offs don't happen unless poorly crimped/twisted. Edit: You can remove barbless trebles out of a pike if you're able to land it. You can't say the same when you get your FC leader bitten off and the fish has a lure and a couple of trebles wedged in its throat preventing it from feeding.
Nice to see my bait in action. Some baits catch the angler and others catch the fish 🤙
Dan the man does it again!! What a cracking session!! Always love the content but this is outstanding 🎣🎣🎣😎
Unbelievable session Dan for January
i’m so glad this vid is this long keep it up pal💯

I don't even catch that many pike in a season!! Absolutely incredible 😨😨 I should fish more jerkbaits.

Never used a bait-caster before, any recommends? Looking to be using large baits - nearly set on the komodo okuma one.
Great video... A lot of action in it 👍

Doesn't work with pike, Musky behave very differently. Clearly you have never fished for Musky. Look it up 🤣
What kind of place was it you were fishing? Also do you have any tips were you might find pike in the springtime easily?
Great video, what lure was that?
Hi ! :)
For pike fishing do you use more hard lures or soft ? I consider to use 80% of time this season jerks/cranckbaits / twitch etc
