One way we used to get rid of the slugs (I assume snails are the same) was to put down a plate of beer. They climb into it, drink it and drown. Also, our lawn in Brooklyn NY was so beautiful all year long that cars would stop, people would get out to feel if it was real. it was. My brother won tons of blue ribbons for everything he grew. When it snowed he threw grass seed on top of it. When the snow melted the seeds sunk into the earth. Your garden looks lovely. Best to you, Leon. Jane, Philadelphia

Wow, thank you Jane - that's a new one!
I love the idea of throwing grass seeds on the snow!
      Have a wonderful weekend 💐💛💐

Short but sweet. The door turned out nicely. Oh, the garden! What a week or two has made a huge difference. Everything has grown so much. It will be lovely for you when completed. It may be a small garden, but so many areas to sit and enjoy the beauty and all the sounds. So happy for you. See you next week.

Many thanks Kristine, with the constant rain everything is growing at such a rapid speed!
      À bientôt 💐🌟💐

Everything is growing well thanks to the rain, same here in the UK but it has brought an incredible number of slugs and snails with it. I love the black and red together along with the white gravel, very classy.

Many thanks Jan! Yes, the slugs have taken over, it's a daily battle.
      Enjoy a wonderful weekend 💐🌺💐

Calming, charming and lovely. The colours are really beautiful. The Honeysuckle will give off a lovely scent.
We too, have had rain day after day here in North Yorkshire but sunny now but we return to Cambridge tomorrow. How frustrating.
Let’s hope for some warm, dry weather soon for us all to enjoy. Looking forward to the next Leonsday . . . .

Thank you Pamela, please send some sun this way!
I am planning on planting some more Honeysuckle by the trellis bench and the gazebo when I can afford it.
Till next Friday, hopefully some rain-free days before then 💐🙏💐

I love it, Leon. Really coming on. Be patient a little while longer... Will you grow something smelly up the love-seat arbour at the end of the garden? Star Jasmine, also known as Trachelospermum jasminoides would be an excellent choice. Fast growing too.

Thank you Penny, getting there. I still have to choose between Jasmine and Honeysuckle for the bench. The latter seems to cope better with the climate and soil here 🌺💐🌺💐🌺

I love the title this week! So sorry the weather has delayed the grand reveal, but at least the rain has been good for the plants and lawn. I hope other patrons of the arts will join me in supporting your channel this week! 👍

My word Leon what an improvement. You must be pleased. How well it’s all come together and in time to enjoy for the summer - if summer ever comes. It’s been the same here in Normandy. Rain and more rain but warm enough for lush growth, weeds and grass to flourish. A battle to keep on top of. Spent this week dodging the showers and downpours weeding and more weeding - weeding in my sleep! - trips to the decheterrie. About to start again this (Friday) morning. Already big black clouds, though, unusually, there is a patch of blue sky trying to show through. Courage with yours! You’re nearly there. Going to look perfect with the gazebo.
