Any videos with Branford Marselis from 3/29/90 at Nassau ? Love that album.
(and also the 80 & 81 performances at NC. I was at the '81 show)
thank you dave!!!
Dave your the absolute best!!
David thank you for everything brother. Love your show and the stories you tell. This band man. I’ll tell ya. It keeps hittin ya decades later as well. Unreal.
Jerry's having fun with Clarence playing in the band. Great to see that smile 😃
Happy Jerry, happy deadhead.
Good old grateful dead
From Patti Cornell
Joyful Jerry⚡️⚡️⚡️
Seeing Jerry smile makes me smile.
❤
Every time!!!
I miss Jerry 👑🌹💀⚡💀🌹👑
And the little reggae shuffle
Sooo true
The magic of The Dead is that no song or show is ever played exactly the same.
The world needs so much more Grateful Dead 😄
Sounds like a bunch of hippie shit to me...
Great f'ing year for this band.
Phil is totally locked in on Jerry in this gem. Each is creating the space for the other to really shine
Jerry always gets a "touch stiffer" when horn players are on stage and that always benefits Phil's thing
The boys were about to go on the best tour of their career here.. almost every night has highlights...
A Day Without the Dead is a very sad day!!!😮
Always said that GD is the best all around band for every kind of music. They can play anything and make it good.
When the eye brows lift!!
Lol!!! Pure love!
I love the look Jerry gives after he messes up the first two lines lmao love him
Jerry García one of the greatest guitar players in Rock history.☮️🎸
Not the best, the only one who does what he does
1989 is one year i wish I could travel back to go see, so many great shows.
Me too! That's my happy fantasy!
pshhh, gimme coke fueled 74
Скоро Путин покажет вам много концертов😢
Absolutely
The Year I Was Born🫡
Love seeing Jerry happy and dancing like the big ol bear . Thank s for posting.
Phil getting on down in his own way. One of the greatest bassists ever!
Phil is always gonna do weird stuff when horn players are on stage.......he is trying to create "more room" than he normally cares to
Jer is feeelin it! Dancing and grooving ❤
He'll always be the one i miss most
I love him from the bottom of my heart!!!
I was at this show, what a day! Tripping good and the Otis Spunkmeyer plane flew over and we laughed our butts off!
SAME!
As a late bloomer in my 50’s in becoming a fan of these guys, this is one of my favorite tunes. I just wasn’t into it at all in my high school days and for several decades afterwards. They are excellent musicians and these days I find myself playing it often.
Jerry’s got his groove on!
jerry sounds great!
I was never as free in my life, as I was at the start or end.
-blackie
I bet these boys will live on forever. They were that good. Got to see them 50 times.
147 times!I Then our Jerry passed..R.I.P. KING!
30 or 31 for me. 87 to 95
Everyone just gellin 😊
Actual Fire.....
Jer was certainly feelin' it.
What a terrific ending with some of those Scarlet licks.
I used to get real paranoid when I would smoke pot and I did not like the dead until I heard this song and it took me out of fear 😊
Jerry looks so happy and dancing!
I need to go see a festival with Dead and Company! I love you the Great Great Great Jerry Garcia! Thank you and the grateful Dead for having my back. Dead and Company is a continuation in honor of your legacy with the help of John Mayor and some original band members! In heaven you're my great-uncle and I can't wait to see you there in like 90 more years or something 🫶🌞👌
Awesome, Jerry. He bends the fabric of music around him.
I love how the live renditions sound close enough to the album without being perfect replicas. I can hear the soul in your playing as a band.
You can’t watch this and not smile. 🥲
At 53 years old, I recently obtained this amazing gift.. I can’t believe I wasted money to see Motley Crue in the 80’s..
of course I always knew who the Grateful Dead were and heard some radio play over my lifetime, but never knew what it was all about.. I don’t know who it was who pulled my head out of my ass, but thank you.. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Nah man, the gettin was good for everything back then.
Went to a Motley Crue show with my home made Grateful Dead vest on… guy behind me man your at the wrong show😂😂😂❤❤❤
Motley Crew is hilarious. Well at least youtube made it possible to see Dead Shows in an archive. Enjoy Bro!
@stevetrivago I'm in the same boat. Same age also. The Dead gained a little popularity in the early 90's when I was in college at Indiana University, maybe because of Touch of Grey. There was a friend of mine from Virginia who resided on the same floor in our dorm who was a guitarist and a Deadhead through and through. He tried to explain his attraction to the Grateful Dead's music to me but at the time I was more interested in Led Zeppelin.
My thoughts of the Grateful Dead were "oh they're just some leftover hippie band from the 60s." Now I wished I'd paid more attention. My sister saw them play at Deer Creek music center in 1994 and I'm secretly jealous I never got to see them live. I'm currently looking for their music on CD at antique stores and flea markets and Craigslist nowadays.
@@eventhejunglewantedhimdead480 If you like intellectual thievery you'll love Led Zeppelin and Jimmy Page. If you like extended jazz-format improv jam sessions, then the 'dead are for you!
And if you like straight-up UFO-Ayahuasca-inspired madness, try taking the Sun City Girls for a little spin!
Or better yet, Alvarius B!
What a year. 89 into the 90s were atop the best. IMHO. Also that horn in back of Jerry was tremendous. Everyone on stage clicking on all 8 baby. It was FIRE on the mountain.
Makes me smile seeing Jerry smile.
Never get tired of listening to Jerry and The Dead!!
A very lucid Captain @ the helm of his fully operational Star Cruiser
Lol.......I feel I've read your comment on a certain scarlet fire I enjoy......cheers
This is why I am a Deadhead.
"Dead to the core"
❤️🔥89
head’s all empty and I don’t care!
So glad I “GOT IT”
Thank you Jerry, Brent, Pigpen!
My life is so much better with this soundtrack!!!
This was a great show. The whole band was on.
I also told them that they needed to bring back some of those older tunes ! 😍🥰😘😊☺️😉🥹❤️🩷💛🩵💚love to my Jerry !
How Jerry and Phil work together continues to amaze me. Long time Deadhead.
Jerry Garcia loved playing music with anyone, Rip Jerry
THE DEAD MAY BE GONE BUT NEVER DEAD
amen
This was suck a good show, I totally forgot about the dude on sax! Glad to see the the vid out in the world !
Branford Marsalis
Beautiful!!
Brent really trying to get on top of the chorus - sounds great.
@@Twotontessie LOVE IT!👍
When I say my memories of that day are special, I use the word in the largest possible way. So much great music, from Tracy Chapman single handedly (well she used both hands, but played solo) owning the stadium, to John Fogarty playing CCR for the first time in 15 years. Special.
Of the countless Dead shows I've seen and the great musicians to come up and play with them, my memories of The Big Man coming out with them on that day are among my most treasured. Clarence got what they were doing on a level very few could and it worked.
I really miss going to these concerts 😢
Man, this Fire is 🔥 they were really feeling themselves that night. One of my faves for sure
Wow. Jerry really rocked frustrated. I had forgotten how great '89 was

God DAMN. I needed that.😊
Amen ❤
Was at this one. Anyone run into Spider-man?? Scored Skybox tix thru my dad's company for this, so of course I accompanied my parents to this. Along with a bunch of other guys from his office and wives who worked with my dad. We all had a great time ( after ducking out to smoke few bowls on the upper-deck with some other kids who had brought their parents to this!) At some point I was down on the field and ran into a dude dressed as Spider-man!!!! I asked him to come on up with me and hang out in the Loge for awhile and he did!! We had some laughs with him and he took some pictures with us! Def a highlight of a show that had many!
There were a few bands that day but the John Fogerty's set was incredible !!!!!!! After his set my mom wanted to explore things down on the floor. Who am I to deny her? Haha!
Sooo onto the field we went. Not far from entering the infield mom witnessed some Heads chopping up some " white, powdery substance" and inhaling it with a rolled up bill of some kind! Luckily as I turned around I noticed Bill Graham scouting the scene all around us. I then quickly introduced my mom to him to distract her from the debauchery!
" Mom? This is Bill Graham, he put this whole concert together! ".
( She had no fucking clue who, what, when, or how Bill Graham was )
Bill was gracious and asked my mom how she was enjoying the show? To which she said she " Was having fun." And with that Bill disappeared into the crowd and I showed mom around some more. She didn't last long on the field there, but she was a trooper.
I had invited a couple of beautiful lady friends of mine to the show and by the time the Dead had taken their Set Break, all of the clients and folks my Dad had brought to the benefit had long since left for the night. So we had the entire Loge to ourselves!!!
I have to say that it was a pretty damn awesome way to see the Dead from a Loge. Usually I would go to a show and get up in the rafters on Jerry's side. But this was a whole different level. We had food, couches, comfortable seats, a bar, some hot food, and our on private bathroom! We were definitely styling! A great show for sure!
"This world, which is the same for all, no one of gods or men has made; but it was ever, is now, and ever shall be an ever-living Fire"
- Heraclitus
My baby's in scarlet shackles in grey,
loves to love, she got it salted away
Put it down heavy, pick it up lean
You gotta lay it down dirty, and play it back clean...
I was here!
Always ❤ forever, forever (Dead) yet always alive 🎉😅!!!
Be safe everyone
I once saw this st Golden Gate Park performed by Diga Rhythm band.
Crispy 🌋🐉💨💨💨💨
Miss them so much!!!
Yea, we were there
Dancing Jerry!!
🌹🌹🌹🌹More than ashes when your dreams come true 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Most unique band in history. And whoever said Bob Dylan sucks, he is very wrong
Can anyone explain why I get emotional listening to The Grateful Dead? I’m a relatively new fan with no attachment to any band members and I actually know very little about the band history. Peace and love to all! ✌️❤️
I started listening to these on RUclips.
The music plays the band❤️🔥💯🎈
It happens to every dead head.. the honesty in the music.. I can't put my finger on it. No other band in the world can do it.
Share this music and that emotion to as many others as you can. We all need it.
The songs become something like dancing characters, (bears). They live in the ether. The band summons them forward, and breathes life into them, but differently every time. It's a journey, and an exploration that they take - and we take together. The Grateful Dead seems to come from outside us, and deep inside us simultaneously. I'm 61, and never experienced this with any other band in my life. On certain shows, Phish can get very close. Dead and Company most certainly. Go see them at the Sphere.
THIS is how you shoot and edit a concert film.
I went to their last show in Seattle in ‘95, however we didn’t make it out of the parking lot after meeting two girls who drove up from Mountain View.
