Playing a guitar that you created is probably one of the most satisfying things in the world. I cannot tell how this unique design contributes to the sound of this guitar, but it's beautiful for sure.
Nice work, lot's of neat ideas that I will be stealing! Especially the "flying" brace and the tuned ports. The lute style top brings a tight midrange and treble similar to the "00"s and must simplify the build process. Your solution for the "upper bout" is genius !
Yeahh the flying brace was a wild card, and ended up complementing that dry mid range focus of the lute shape like you mentioned. I deff recommend the tuned ports, they were fun and add some wild characteristics. Thanks!
I agree with your opinion. It is also interesting to know your opinion about my videos. In one of the videos, I made gold earrings out of ordinary pasta.
This luthier is amazingly talented. The video has convinced me never to try making a guitar. The amount of tools ($$$) and specialty skills needed make me realize that I can better use my time playing a guitar rather than creating one.
Yes, I know a skilled craftsman that attempted a solid body strat out of burl wood. He ended up needing help; it weighed a ton and wasn't all that enjoyable to play. But I guess kudos for effort.
That is the prettiest acoustic guitar I think I've ever seen. You are amazing...me saying a great job is an understatement. Cool background music as well
Guys, thank you so much for showing these videos. With all the garbage going on in the world, I can sit back and relax, and be jealous. Beautiful stuff
With that massive bridge plate and that…. I’m not even sure what it’s called brace. And the, um, perhaps Over abundance of X bracing….. Well, perhaps some amplification might be called for 🤘🏻😄🤘🏻
Very nice! I think you succeeded in proof of concept. The bass is strong, but not boomy, just crisp and tight. And the treble is clear and round. That sure is some pretty wood, too. Nice axe all around. When I was watching the beginning I thought you were building a cittern. And really, if you make one of those strung with 4 or 5 courses and leave off the fake upper bouts, you'll have a super-cittern. My mind tends to go that way cuz cittern has been my main axe for some decades, even though I started music on Classical guitar in '69.
Amazing woodworking and luthier skillset. Thanks for the video. Personal opinion: Shop sounds are the music of the shop, music added from some royalty free source is exactly what you pay for it, nothing and not needed.
You really achieved an aesthetically pleasing design. The possibilities of using a combination of other timbers would be really interesting. Great work from SlicWood !
This guitar is so beautiful ..it just makes me think I am not at all worthy of playing that..even though I know a little I still don't play all the time..my guitar just stays at the wall . I hope this guitar reaches somewhere good to someone who plays and brings out the beauty of it
It has gone to deserving hands! it was shipped to Nick White Music Room, keep an eye out he may cut a video of it in action in the near future! ruclips.net/channel/UCq1bT4TvftexLHwJVnIEfZA
After brainnumbingly looking through hundreds of videos, when I saw this guitars thumbnail I literally said "Oh WOW!" out loud!. Now THIS is innovation :) Well done sir!.
One of these days I'm going to build a archtop parlor guitar shaped like an A style mandolin. I really believe there is something acoustically special about that shape of resonance chamber. I really like your concept of skeletonized wings to give it the ergonomics of a traditional acoustic while maintaining the unique tone of the teardrop body and soundboard.
Respect for leaving a comment to the author. I would be grateful if you look at my content and rate it. In one of the videos, I made a gold case for a Zippo lighter.
@@slicwood231 Anytime, and thanks for the splendid design ethic! I am a restoration luthier (when my hands allow it), and ordinarily don't care so much for strut/lattice designs on acoustic guitars, but this is wonderful!
Thanks for the kind words! The strut certainly changes the characteristics of the top, And I can totally see how one could easily destroy an otherwise responsive guitar haha
Very interesting concept/design. I would be interested in some comparative analysis data: this instrument, as measured against a common name brand. Beautiful craftsmanship. Best regards.
Yeah it would be nice to hear an A/B against a mainstream brand. The guitar is gone to Nick White Music Room so we might see some sensible video of it in near future. ruclips.net/channel/UCq1bT4TvftexLHwJVnIEfZA

Thank you! I think it's just the fact that binding is not for me. Definitely would add a bit of protection for the long haul, but really I'm just chasing design ideas.

this man hand carved and carefully contoured the damn hidden underside braces.

Fanned frets?... how to intonate that?... 😲 Awesome. Joyous to watch.
Hey Man, great job. I also built a similar guitar which I call CHOYTARA back in 2019. Cheers!
So beautiful
Looks a bit like a Dammann guitar . Interesting how soundport “extenders” are at the smaller upper bout . Aesthetic design
Nice sound! Wish you could play some flamenco style piece sounds great for flamenco-rumba!!🖒
I loved it! Amazing!
Really cool! I'm editing the building of a tear drop bass. Quite similar. I'll send a link when it's done. Good work.
Yeah send it along! Thanks !
i'm a bassist and with how bass heavy this acoustic is i approve
Cuánta belleza eres un artista
