General rule of thumb for all Fighting Games though: QCF, QCB, HCF, HCB, 360, BF are all staple fighting game combinations and usually doing 1 of them, or a combination will generate something, if not a super move. 360 in particular almost always applies to grapplers. As someone mentioned, this was around the FG craze thanks to Street Fighter 2, so alot of special moves were based on the inputs from there.
