Yes Google is pretty much confusing with all the changes they made the past 6 months ... We only learn about it when we get suspended or our post are being rejected.
Sadly it's so true,,I've had a suspension on a genuine business for over 2 months and Google just don't budge, so it's fine until it goes wrong

Google Analytics is probably best as it's most accurate and you can get everything there you need

Best to find out where your audience traffic is, for most Google maps is the starting place which is why Google Business Profile and Google Ads are the popular choice and covered on my channel

One of the problems are that if you’re a service business, you cannot be listed on Google maps or they will suspend you. That hurts my business from being found in my local Google search area. So what do I do? It’s as if I don’t even exist. Also, customers are telling me they left reviews but they’re not showing up on my business profile. Any idea why?
Those are 2 different issues. Google claims that although you aren't found on the map as a pinpoint, you are given authority in the service areas you have listed. Like you i agree it doesn't seem that balanced, so if you are able to have an office to meet customers it's definitely an advantage in 2023. Complete your profile as much as possible - services, address, opening hours, reviews and posts. My anecdotal evidence is that Google rewards businesses that post on their business profile.

So now when you have geniuine great business which gets only 5star reviews google will not take it into account and you are positioned below shitty places with 3star reviews. Great logic.

The BBB is also changing. One of my clients was asked to prove she was our client. We do divorces so I guess the final judgement would be proof she is our client. This is a barrier to getting reviews. It’s hard enough to get people to actually leave a review but asking them to submit proof is a huge problem.

I need to change the address on google Business. The last time I did this, I had my listing suspend and lost all my reviews. What is the best way to change my address without getting my listing suspended?
I recently did this and by raising it with Google directly, they transferred the profile details including reviews, so keep it above board and follow there direction and it should work out
@@ZanetDesign The address I want to change from is an old residential address to a business address but it is a shared office address. Although, they will allow my to display a sign, IDK if google will suspend the listing.
shared office could be an issue depending on how clearly Google sees it as independent from any other registered organisation at that address, have you checked with Google?

Any business wants to avoid a potentially bad and disruptive customer why should google be the arbiter of what type of customer you want to embrace or deal with where possible I like to have a video call with a customer before I decide to deal with them. As an accountant I have legal obligations in terms of Anti Money Laundering for example . Google is really getting too big for its boots in deciding who we deal with I think it needs to be split up into smaller operating units because of the control it has on the internet.

Good video. Thank you for sharing it. After the pandemic, we had to close our shop and we went online. BUT our Google card is now showing us as "Permanently closed". That is the shop that is closed, not our business. I tried to change our Google Biz Profil but they don't allow online business to be promoted on these profiles... That is very dommageable for our activity.

@@ZanetDesign It asked me to add an address... I understand that GBP is focusing on driving pedestrian into the shops... and as we are online only, we don't have a physical address where to direct people. It is embarrassing.
If i understand the situation, Google needs a physical address to send a verification postcard, but you can show the business on google maps without an address if you provide services, I've done a few videos on this on my channel

Can you go into more detail about what you're talking about at 7:46. I have a link in my google profile under "appointments" that takes customers to my business software scheuler that has its own page within my website. Is that what you are referring to? It's a 3rd party scheduler, just not one of the better known one like square, booknetic etc. Thank you!
One other question. I recently had a person who inquired about a service I don't offer. I think they got a survey that you mentioned, because a few days after I had immediately replied to their inquiry, and they replied back to me " Thank you for getting back to me" I got a random message from that person that said, "No they didn't offer the service I was looking for". I didn't know what to think of it until I watched this video and you mentioned the survey. Do you think their "NO" response would be seen as a negative in the eyes of the google algorithm?

Yes you can use any 3rd party scheduler, its just some are more integrated with Google than others, but calendly is my preferred solution
