Another great video dude! I Definitely agree with the DJ bit turning up at 6pm 😅😂 I've heard of and witnessed so many bad DJs at weddings 😢 Sounds like hard work being a wedding host 😅😮 I don't think I have the confidence to be a wedding host 🙈

I'm one of the first DJs to attend Pat's Host Upskill course, and it was totally life changing and reoriented my perspective for 2024 and 2025
His knowledge on the nightlife industry was fascinating as much as an education and I encourage anyone who has the spark to definitely take the time to learn from his 1-day course.
I will paste my review lower down, which I wrote for the Social Media pages, but also TJ just to congratulate you on another great interview and podcast - as we pointed out before it's mainly a lonely job being a DJ and often with seldom chance to corroborate and discuss the craft with other DJs - hence these insights your bringing to RUclips and beyond are an education and entertaining! Thanks for the efforts.
Now here's that review, as I hope it drives as much business Pats way, quite simple the gentleman is a legend!
    --------------------------------------------
The moment I discovered that Pat Mulligan was offering one-on-one coaching on Wedding Hosting, I immediately got on the phone, strongly advocating for my attendance.
Having known and followed Pat's story, particularly his work and contributions during the pandemic via Mulligans Bar, I was already a big fan of his work.
Since then, I've been inspired to pursue my dream of setting up my own Mobile DJ business. It has organically expanded from just one gig in a local pub to being fully booked most weekends for mobile gigs and plug-and-play setups in bars in my area - in little under 2 years.
After attending and having also the benefit of DJing at several weddings in those years, I was inspired to elevate and upskill to become what I consider the most professional version and what transcends that of a Mobile DJ - one who is essential to the Bride and Groom's most significant day and can add more value than the average “in-house” service I've seen at wedding venues as a guest.
I realised there was a healthy gap in the market for a Wedding Professional who could genuinely enhance the experience. Pat embodied this idea with his unique approach, combining various US and UK methodologies - with a modern and congruent twist built using his own experiences and talent.
I attended the course in early November 2023, and I had the pleasure of speaking openly with Pat from 09:30 in the morning until 19:30 in the evening - hardly taking time for lunch! To be honest, I could have continued even longer. Pat has also remained available and responsive to answer any further questions I have had.
The intensity and pace at which Pat delivers a wealth of information are well-timed and tailored to your existing knowledge and experience level. I particularly enjoyed Pat's discussions about the early days of Discotech and its progression to the point where clubland and DJ'ing, in general, fit into the broader industry. This insight helps you better understand your place in the industry and where you can make commercial gains while adding value with your talent.
Pat's background as a qualified therapist also contributes significantly to the training, not only in terms of the mentor-learner dynamic but also in the practical application of techniques on the day of the wedding. For example, he teaches how to anchor and calm the nerves of a speechmaker.
From the very beginning, Pat's professionalism, respect and attention to detail were evident. Pat was not only incredibly knowledgeable about wedding hosting but also genuinely passionate about raising the industry standards and, in his own words, "changing the industry, one DJ at a time." The personalised training, I received was invaluable.
Pat's guidance on everything, from managing the wedding day to addressing unexpected challenges, played a pivotal role in simplifying the understanding of the process, allowing for the confidence to approach it as a resalable package.
Pat is not just a highly skilled and capable host/DJ but also possesses the charm and charismatic personality essential for motivating and embodying the values expected in the high-end wedding industry. Pat emphasizes maintaining energy levels throughout the day, not just at the after-party, and offers various techniques for bringing guests together and optimizing the diverse energy dynamics at play during each stage of the wedding process.
Furthermore, Pat provides deep insights into how to assist and add value to the venue and its staff, employing a holistic approach that considers everyone's experience - building the motivation for referrals and organic growth in your business.
What truly sets Pat apart is the warmth and sincerity that radiate from every aspect of the training. His ability to connect with people and create a positive atmosphere is inspirational. I didn't just learn the technical aspects/process of hosting and the essential equipment needs; I also felt invigorated by Pat's genuine passion for his craft.
With Pat's training, I felt confident and well-prepared to take on the role of a wedding host, knowing that I had learned from one of the best in the industry.
Looking back, Pat Mulligan's wedding host training service was more than just acquiring skills; it was about gaining a mentor and a friend who deeply cares about success.
I am deeply appreciative of the guidance, support, and wisdom that Pat imparted - I wholeheartedly recommend his tutoring, and furthermore, I plan to attend again in the future to reinforce and enhance my skills.
The value of Pat's training goes beyond the price, as the quality of the education he provides is exceptional.
