The thing about kpop they chose someone who can hit those high notes to be the main vocal and sometimes do not care about the tone/quality of the voice itself
and sometimes the high notes are not hit properly! (theyre too pitchy and lack proper support and depth -_-)
In my perspective that is true, main vocalists are judged upon jow they reach the high notes, and if they don't hit that note everybody will criticize her.😑😑

My top 5 are: Solar,Taeyeon,wendy,yuju and siyeon but all the main vocals are amazing and brilliant singers

I also love Twice, in my opinion they sing really good ( I love Jeongyeon's voice). Maybe they're not " the best " when it comes to vocals, but their presence stage is quite perfect and their songs are actually so catchy that sometimes I wonder what kind of drugs did they put on it lol

Also Twice songs dont really showcase Nayeon and Jeongyeon's vocals since Nayeon is someone who does good on low notes but is forced to sing high and Jeongyeon doesn't get lines to showcase her voice, Jeongyeon does good on mid-high notes

No offense to other gg but MAMAMOO has the best set of vocalists even the rapper can sing. From low register to highest. They can also reach whistle (Wheein in Woohoo). They compliment each other without outshining other members.

Ok, I'm a Moomoo and although Solar's voice is my favorite, Wheein is a better singer with better support and control. It's kind of clear this list isn't based off of actual singing talent (it isn't bad but it's noticeable)

For me Solar comes first in vocal technique and her high notes are cherry on top, Wendy and Seulgi obviously have amazing vocals and their technique also on point as always, Rosé is my for ever fav cz of her voice plus her vocals always makes me feel the song to the level that I can't even explain...These are my fav vocalist of third generation that will rule my heart for ever❤. I think people need to remember that being able to hit high notes and having a higher range doesn't make you a great singer, yes it is better but you also have to take in consideration the technical aspects...having a low rage doesn't mean you're a bad singer.

What are the factors to rank their vocal like this?
When we talk about vocal, we need to consider many things : vocal tech (including breath/support, agility, sense of pitch, placement, developed register etc.) , interpretation and singing style. But the last two tend to be subjective. So vocal techs are the only thing that can be used to rank vocalists. Even though I disagree with something like vocal rank or compare one vocalist with the other, but it would be good for those who want to learn singing (including me).
I wouldnt say that the rank here is invalid or something, cause it's the owner of video preferences. But can I say something?
I love Yuju a lot, she is my ultimate bias, but technically Wendy and Taeyeon still better.

I definitely agree with you. I also think yuju is a good vocalist especially that her voice suits ballad the best, but it somehow lacks elements that's why her singing sometimes sound boring and almost the same.

in my opinion Solji, Taeyeon, Eunji and Solar have much better techniques and more experience than Yuju. Solji's been singing for over 10 years and has been a vocal coach for EXID before joining the group, so she's my number 1 always.
taetitties i dont even listen to exid and i dont understand korean to understand what solji was singing here but...damn its so powerful that i teared up...from a 10 seconds clip. yuju deserves to be (at the very least) top 5/top 8 but yes, solji, taeyeon, eunji, and solar’s vocals are just way up there. i think when all of these great vocalists with the best techniques and skills are compared against one another, the delivery and the emotion of each vocalist’s bring to their singing becomes one of the deciding factor. yuju is extremely great but her delivery/emotions are not quite up there yet, maybe because she’s still a rookie (compared to taeyeon, solji, eunji, and solar ofc).

That is kinda wrong, i hate how people just focus on high notes, some singers who cannot hit high notes, but they are incredibly good singers as they can hit good low notes instead of high notes. Honestly, i don't totally agree with this list, i understand that high notes are important, but high notes are definitely not the most improtant, there are also low notes, deep voice, and other good singers whose ranking are very low on this list. Ofc there are some perfect singers that we all know they should be in the top as tayeon,solar,yuju,etc, actually tayeon and solar and yuji definitely deserves to get the top 3 spots in this list, and that is what i only actually agree about, the rest of the ranking is horrible, and some deserves to be in a higher ranking in my opinion.

Wendy deserves to be higher, I think. She's a flexible singer. She has good techniques. Her range is phenomenal. Her low and high notes are both amazing.

Not to be rude but high notes aren't synonym with good technique. Also, at times, the vocalists of some groups are better than the main vocalists from other groups. Think snsd's vocal line. Sunny, Tiffany, and Seohyun, or Wheein from mamamoo are all lead vocalists and better in terms of a healthy singing technique than half of this list.
Mamamoo vocal line (Wheein, Hwasa and Solar) are all in the same level technique wise

Solar too, Wheein has the most balanced and less pushed mix, better lower register and more relaxed falsetto. But they are practically the same hahaa.
