Very useful phrases! I've been using Duolingo for months, and only know a handful of these. Instead, I know how to say very important things like, "the monkey hates riding the sheep!"
That is why I dropped Duolingo about a month and a half ago and now I use these apps Yuspeak, Eggbun, and Teuida. Duolingo really sucks it doesn't really give you anything of good structure to use you get better teachings from the comment section of duolingo than duolingoitself.

Duolingo has DEFINITELY been a huge let-down when it comes to learning actual useful phrases and words in Korean! I'll stick to learning Korean/Japanese Alphabets and Spanish with it.
duolingo is not good for trying to learn any language. its good for reviewing though..korean not so much. since the sentence structure doesn't necessarily have to follow a set structure as long as you end it with the verb, its hard to review korean using duolingo. I noticed that is has multiple sentences with the same meaning but the order of the sentence before the verb is reversed & it'll mark it wrong if you don't do it a specific way even tho its still technically right & the app itself isn't consistent with how it structures the sentences.
Learning Korean can be extremely difficult with some dyslexia, very bad visual issues, and frustrating memory problems, but I'm determined to keep learning Korean! Thank you for making this video, I appreciate it.

Yeah, I have the same problems. My learning process is very slow but korean feels more and more natural to me slowly.

@@kittenbubbley Yeah, I try to think about differents ways to learn korean. I never understood english in school but one summer vacation, I used to write diary in english and watched so many english shows that I "naturally" learned decent english. So now I want to try to focus more on writing, hearing and reading without too much focus on korean vocabulary and grammar. Good luck for you too! 화이팅! 😊

You're not a native English speaker? Wow, you're so natural with it, you sound just like a native speaker! I wouldn't have guessed you had such difficulty with learning it.
I am pretty unnatural speaking Korean.. mainly because I don't have anyone to help me learn to practice. I am learning on my own, and I would really like to have someone to speak the language with and tell me what I'm doing right or wrong.
It's very difficult sometimes without any help.
But still, thank you for sharing about how you were able to learn even with difficulties :) I really appreciate it.

@@kittenbubbley I couln't answer you. But I will try again. "Thanks. :) I still have problems with english grammar but I also tend have problems with german grammar. So it might be a problem I will keep no matter which language.
I am pretty shy, so it's ok for me to learn alone but it's definitely a slow process and it's definitely difficult to know what is right. I like Hi Native to get a little help here and there. In case you don't know that already, it might be something for you too. " :)

현우씨, I am curious, why you didn't include subject, object or topic particles in the phrases?
@@Sukuna1983 안녕하세요 : ) I didn't use any particles here because it's not necessary here. I could have said 1등이 아니네요 but it would sound like I'm disappointed, and 1등은 아니네요 might sound like "I'm not not the 1st, but..." indicating that there might be an attached meaning to it. So I kept it simple. As you learn more Korean, you will find that this is quite common!

Seeing the comparisons of casual and formal phrases side by side gives me a much better visual on what exactly the difference between the two are. Meaning I can see exactly what changes to make the formal sentence into a casual sentence and that's actually what I've been needing. thank you so so much for this video.

this is excellent! i watched the video twice in a row and i want to watch it again later to help fix the sentences in my brain. it helps to watch it the first time at 0.75x speed and then at normal speed. i'm also going to write the sentences in my korean notebook for future reference. i was pleasantly surprised at how may of these senteces & words i already know just by watching kdramas!

There are many ways to say thank you in korean. Gamsahamnida is more common, but gomapsubnida is also correct and honorific.

Humm 🤔 I thought the 요 form was the casual polite, the formal was the 습니다 form, and the other one it was casual without politeness?
I think i mix up politeness and formality a bit 😐
니다 = Formal/extra polite, use at work, school or with strangers
요 = Informal/polite (some still call this formal which gets confusing) = most commonly used form
Casual = no politeness, use between close friends, partners, family, or when given permission

I don't think there's any. Korean could have multiple phrases that give off/deliver the same meaning
what is the diffrence between casual and formal?
Casual is for using with close friends your age or younger, and formal is for those older than you or who you’re not close with

원하다 you use for nouns, ie, you want something. 싶다 you use with verbs, you want to do something
