  • This year 2021 Honda released an All New CRF450R and and a Pro Level Competition Ready Works Edition the CRF450RWE. Additionally Honda changed the name of the CRF450L to more directly showcase the fact that this Dual Sport bike is at its core a RACE bike with a License Plate... it's now the CRF450RL. This video breaks down all of the differences between the three models and even gives you a walk around showcasing the features / differences that Honda has not mentioned in any of their literature. Enjoy!

A truly great review of these 3 Honda bikes! The comparison was achieved with perfection. Honda continues to improve and update all of their great bikes! Thanks again for your helpful review!

Also the RL has a full subframe which is a huge advantage as a dual sport that a lot of KTM's dont have. You can stap some gear on to the rear fender and go camping!

For the RL I’d like to see Honda add a Kevlar type holding device preferably back behind the seat for the addition of a “hoe” or “rake” to make pointing specs out to would be buyers more enjoyable & less “prickly” ?? especially on site !

For the RL I'd like Honda to include a little baggie holder on the rear of the bike so that you have a place to put your registration papers and anything else you need to prove that you're legal on the road. No idea how they didn't think of that.

Under the seat is where we put it ;) Honda did not want it to look like a DRZ ;)

Extremely misleading constantly saying how similar they are. I'd be upset if I bought the 450L and wondered why it was so slow... only to learn the 450R has literally FIFTY PERCENT more power (over 60 vs 41)

    • @MotoCityTV

Kyle speaking here... I have ridden the 2019 450L, 450X and 450R back to back. While I think the 450X and the 450L are more closely related than Honda is pushing "this year" I myself would not be disappointed with the 450L. On paper it is a dog compared to the X & R but behind the bars it is so freaking fun. Different disciplines of riding too... the 450L might feel slow on a Race Track next to the 450R, the L would be soooooo much better on the highway. That being said they are pretty similar ;) Thanks for watching!

@@t.n.s.hilton3697 Because of strict emissions regulations, the road and trail bikes need to be sold choked up and with a lean air/fuel mixture.
This has been an issue for many years. The only way for the manufacturer's to get around these strict emissions laws, is to sell the bikes severely choked up. Many people know this and will often factor in the cost of performance fuel programmers, exhausts etc. into the final cost of the bike. Many will also order all the "decorking" mods along with the bike too.

My CRF450L didn't come with an oring chain, surprised they added that as they are hard to fit they need to be narrow x-ring usually. Wil have to replace mine with the upgraded one when it comes time!

No physical brochures yet here at the dealership but you can print them all out from the On-Line Honda portal powersports.honda.com/ Here in the USA they run $9,999 but not sure about your conversion / import taxes. You can look at the price of any 2021 Honda at your dealership and I can give you our USA price for the same vehicle and that should get you a close estimate.

Hi Nick, Honda UK have no plans to bring the RL into the country. The L just did not sell and there is the Euro 5 issues. I have a 450L last time out had a big off broken arm and pelvis, not one bit of damage to the bike. Honda quality, if only riders were built the same.

Why the atomic service levels?. Even racing every 600 miles plus filter?. Where does Honda get off with maintenance intervals. Maybe if it had 65hp at the rear wheel, but it doesn't. Look at the others. I think alot easier to maintain.
